제주시 한천 저류지의 수질 특성 (Characteristics of water quality at Han stream retention ponds in Jeju City)

  • To evaluate characteristics of water quality in Jeju, a study was implemented for Han stream and retention ponds. Inflow water quality of retention ponds was heavily dependent on precedent rainfall, and no pesticide was detected due to the little artificial pollution sources. A smooth settling efficiency curve was noticed because heavy particles were already settled down in front of the retention pond. There were weak relationships between retention time and water quality, and this can be attributable to high concentration of pollutants influx at peak inflow. In addition, as Han stream retention pond has a role of groundwater recharge, inflow control based on water quality as well as quantity is needed to maximize pollutant removal at the retention ponds.

Soft-Switching Auxiliary Current Control for Improving Load Transient Response of Buck Converter

  • A control technique for the auxiliary buck/boost converter is proposed herein to improve the load transient response of the buck converter. The proposed technique improves the system efficiency by enabling the soft switching operation of the auxiliary converter. The design guidelines for achieving capacitor charge balance for the output capacitor during the transient are also presented herein. The experimental results revealed that the output voltage undershoot and settling time during the load step-up transient were 40 mV and 14 ㎲, respectively, and the output voltage overshoot and settling time during the load step-down transient were 35 mV and 21 ㎲, respectively. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed technique were experimentally verified using a prototype buck converter with a 15-V input, 3.3-V output, and 200-kHz switching frequency.

프랑스 A-71 고속도로변 토양과 부유퇴적물의 중금속 거동 및 오염에 관한 연구 (The Environmental Pollution and Geochemical Behavior of Heavy Metals in Roadside Soil and Settling Particles from Retention Pond on A-71 Motorway, France)

  • 고속도로변에 설치된 간이정화시설은 drainage system의 일부분으로 우기에 빗물의 양을 조절하고 고속도로 노면에서 운반되어 간이정화시설에 유입된 오염된 입자를 침전, 제거시키기 위해 설치되었다. 빗물에 입자상태로 이동된 납, 아연, 카드뮴를 제거하기 위해 설치된 간이정화시설의 효과를 평가하기 위해 수리지질학적 연구 및 부유퇴적물의 물리화학적 특성을 규명하기 위한 연구가 수행되었다. 부유퇴적물과 비교하기 위해 심하게 오염된 도로변토양과 오염되지 않은 background soil에 대해서도 연구가 수행되었다. 부유퇴적물의 중금속함량은 background Sologne soil에 비해 원소에 따라 2~8배 높게 나타났다. 그러나, 도로변토양의 중금속함량은 부유퇴적물에 비해 7~26배 높게 나타났다. Sequential extraction methods (Tessier et al., 1979)를 이용하여 분석한 결과 심하게 오염된 도로변토양에 존재하는 납, 아연, 카드뮴은 대부분 쉽게 용해될 수 있는 상태 (Fraction FII, FIII)로 존재하며 반면에 규산염광물과 수반되는 금속함량의 비율은 매우 낮았다. 부유퇴적물에서는 규산염광물과 수반되는 금속함량이 전체 금속함량의 113까지 크게 증가하였다. 납과 아연은 fraction FI에서 거의 용해되지 않았는 반면에 (전체 함량의 약 3%) 카드뮴은 가장 용해성이 높은 fraction FI("exchangeable" )에서 상당량이 용해되었으며 특히 도로변토양의 경우 전체 카드뮴 함량의 1/4을 차지하였다. 도로변토양과 부유퇴적물사이의 중금속함량 차이가 매우 큰 것은 중금속의 대부분이 간이정화시설에 이르기전에 고속도로변과 배수로 일부에 축적되어 모두 상실되었기 때문이다.

뉴런모스를 이용한 아날로그 변환기 설계에 관한 연구 ((A Study on the Design of Analog Converter Using Neuron MOS))

  • 본 논문에서는 뉴런모스를 사용한 다운리터럴(Down-Literal) 회로블록과 전류미러 스위치 블록을 사용하여 3.3(V)의 저전력과 고속에서 동작하는 4치 아날로그 변환기(Quartenary to Analog Converter : QAC)를 설계하였다. 다운리터럴 회로를 사용하여 4치입력을 전류미러 스위치의 제어신호로 전환하고 전류미러 스위치는 4치입력에 해당하는 아날로그 신호를 출력한다. 제안된 구조로 설계된 QAC는 고속의 정착시간과 저전력소모의 특징을 가지며 CMOS 0.35㎛ n-well 공정을 사용한 실험 결과를 통해서 3.3(V)의 단일 전원을 사용하여 6MHz의 표본속도와 24.5mW의 전력소모를 확인한다.

일본지방도시를 사례로 본 근린제 공원배치의 문제 및 그 개선방안 -도시공원 배치이론에 대한 새로운 접근- (Park Disposition Problems and Alternatives on the Basis of the Neighborhood Units Theory in Japan Metro-Cities -New Approach to the Disposition Theory of Urban Public Parks-)

  • The disposition of public parks pursue proper distribution and hierarchy formations on the basis of the neighborhood units theory. However, problems like price of land has brought about a large gap between theories and real conditions. This paper examines the problems of the practical disposition and disposition standards of public parks to solve these contradictions with reference to examples in Japan metro-cities. Study results are as follows; 1) The existing disposition theories are based on the district-boundary of men’s acting and settling down. Therefore, the disposition standards of large-scale parks or special parks beyond the humane scale have not been explained exactly. 2) As city sizes have expanded, these large-scale parks have developed greatly, however, they are located out of urban areas on the ground of nature’s geographical features. As a result, many small parks developed in urban areas. This extreme phenomenon of location would break up proper distribution and hierarchy. 3) Large parks over 4 ha not only take an important role in forming greenbelts but their location is also mainly based on their natural geographical features so that they are absorbed into the network -structure of greenbelts. 4) It is suggested that in planning parks, location and size of large parks over 4 ha should be selected and decided in the relation not with parks but with greenbelts. Parks of 4 ha or below are properly disposed. Also, these parks take a great role in forming the district boundary for settling down. Accordingly, proper distribution and hierarchy formation needs to be based on established neighborhood as they were previously.

중립 대기 상태에서 이상 난류유동에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Analysis for Two-phase Turbulent Flow in the Neutral Atmosphere)

  • A numerical analysis of turbulent gas-particle two-phase flow is performed in conjunction with the experiments of Fackrell & Robins and Raupach & Legg that considered ground-level source and/or elevated source flat plate flow. K-$\omega$ turbulence model is used in order to analyze fully turbulent flow field and the concentration equation with settling velocity is adopted for the concentration field. The model of Einstein and Chien is applied that couples the velocity field and the concentration field. Turbulent eddy viscosity is re-evaluated in this model. The present numerical results have good agreement between the simulation and the experimental data for the mean flow velocities and particle concentrations. While the previous study shows about 27% error in the vicinity of the source of particle concentration, the .present study allows about 14% error. A new turbulent gas-particle flow model developed by this study is able to cut down error by 13% at a near source.

A Fast RSSI using Novel Logarithmic Gain Amplifiers for Wireless Communication

  • This paper presents a fast received signal strength indicator (RSSI) circuit for wireless communication application. The proposed circuit is developed using power detectors and an analog-to-digital converter to achieve a fast settling time. The power detector is consisted of a novel logarithmic variable gain amplifier (VGA), a peak detector, and a comparator in a closed loop. The VGA achieved a wide logarithmic gain range in a closed loop form for stable operation. For the peak detector, a fast settling time and small ripple are obtained using the orthogonal characteristics of quadrature signals. In $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS process, the RSSI value settles down in $20{\mu}s$ with power consumption of 20 mW, and the maximum ripple of the RSSI is 30 mV. The proposed RSSI circuit is fabricated with a personal handy-phone system transceiver. The active area is $0.8{\times}0.2\;mm^2$.

부유물질의 응접작용 및 침전특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Flocculation and Settling of Fine-grained Suspended Sediments)

  • 염분도, 부유물질의 농도, 난류의 세기 및 점토광물의 함량이 세립질 부유물질의 응집과 침전특성에 미치는 효과를 규명하기 위하여 수조실험을 실시하였다. 염분도, 부유물질의 초기농도($C_o$) 그리고 난류의 세기를 변화시켜면서 시간에 따른 농도 및 침전속도의 변화를 관찰하였으며, 동시에 수조의 저층에서 일정간격으로 부유물질을 채취하여 입도분석 및 점토광물의 함량비 변화와 업자 덩어리(floc)의 형성과정을 관찰하였다. 일정한 부유물질의 $C_o$ 상태에서 염분도의 증가에 따라 중앙침전속도($W_{50}$)는 선형적언 증가를 보였다. 해수상태(33‰)에서 농도변화에 따른 침전특성은 $C_o$ 범위에 따라 3가지 경우로 다르게 나타났다. 200 mg/l 이하의 범위에서는 농도변화에 따른 침전속도의 변화가 거의 일어나지 않았으며, 200~13,000 mg/l 범위에서는 '$W_{50}=0.45C^{0.44}$' 의 상호관계식에 따라($W_{50}$이 농도의 증가에 비례하며 가속화되었다. 한편, 13,000 mg/l 이상의 높은 농도 범위에서는 농도가 증가할수록 침전속도는 오히려 감소함을 보였다. 난류의 세기가 부유물질의 침전과정에 마치는 영향은 부유물질의 농도에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 상대적으로 부유물질의 농도가 낮아(500 mg/l) 입자간의 상호간섭이 활발하지 않은 상태에서는 난류의 발생은 업자간의 충돌기회를 증가시켜 응집작용과 침전을 촉진시키는 한편, 자연적으로 입자간의 충돌이 충분히 이루어지는 높은 농도(800 mg/l)에서는 난류의 발생은 오히려 상호 입자간의 분산과 간섭침전(hindered settling)을 일으켜 침전을 지연시켰다. 부동 유체 및 난류 발생 상태에서 모두 시간이 경과함에 따라 부유물질의 입도분급이 일어나며 입도분포의 왜도는 감소하고 첨도는 증가하였다. 점토광물중에서 스멕타이트가 가장 빨리 침전되는 반면, 일라이트가 가장 느린 침전속도를 보였다.

  • In this paper, there have been brief review about the important consideration in laboratory planning and designing 4.2MV impulse voltage generator(IVG), which enable to test and evaluate the UHV dielectric performance of power electric apparatus up to 765kV-class. To improve and reinforce the test ability of the IVG and itself against test object being tested by KERI hereafter, wide investigation and an analysis for a solution, especially overshoot compensation method. With the special consideration about those matters in settling down the 4.2MV IVG have been described with the experimental approaching.

Vibration Suppression Control for a Twin-Drive Geared Mechanical System with Backlash: Effects of Model-Based Control

  • This paper deals with a control technique of eliminating the transient vibration of a twin-drive geared mechanical system. This technique is based on a model-based control in order to establish the damping effect at the driven machine part. The control model is composed of reduced-order electrical and mechanical parts. This control model estimates a load speed converted to the motor shaft. The difference between the estimated load speed and the motor speed is calculated dynamically and it is added to the velocity command to suppress the transient vibration generated at the load. This control technique is applied to a twin-drive geared system with backlash. In the previous work, the performance of this control method is examined by simulations. In this paper, the effectiveness of this control technique is verified by experiments. The settling time of the residual vibration generated at the loading inertia can be shortened down to about 1/2 of the uncompensated vibration level.
