The peculiarity of end-expanded soil nailing method(EESNM) is in fixing the wedge-type steel body spreaded by collars and grouting its surroundings by cement milk within soils, after extending hole bottom over drilling hole diameter with top drill bit. The present study was done to establish the effect of this method. Laboratory model test were carried out to investigate the behavior characteristics with the performance of the pull-out test and failure experiment, after preparing soil test box having 1,300mm length, width 1,000mm, and height 1,100mm, and the same experimental condition was set up to compare with the general soil nailing method(GSNM). The pull-out force of about 23 percentage was increased, and the horizontal displacements 1.2 from 9.1 percentage in soil-nailed wall decreased in EESNM compare with GSNM. The axial force acting on nail increased considerably at load level over 7 ton in EESNM and 5 ton in GSNM. The predicted failure line from the maxima analyzed by axial tensile strain located at long distance from soil-nailed wall in EESNM. The EESNM demonstrated the superiority of reinforcement effect in comparison with GSNM from the results above mentioned.
Entering upon 21th, the internet which bring the digital era, are changing the paradigm of education and cultivating creative and challenging person, which is the core of competitive power in knowledge-information society, is more emphasized than ever. To meet the needs of the present times, it has been concentrating its effort to improve learning-environment using e-Learning in the field of teaching. E-schoolbooks that were introduced recently by way of showing an example are representative case of this intention. Though many e-learning contents are being developed, the more speedily a society grow, the shorter the life of contents are. Moreover, the contents developed are impossible to use directly for tele-education system, so standard types adjusted for various kind of system are showing up. Among them the leading standard type is SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Medel) made in ADL(Advanced Distributed Learning) Corporation. The KERIS' Cyber Home Education System adopted this and is using it. So, in this study, we set the goal at designing and developing an e-learning contents and an experiment-focused mathematics that suit the KERIS' Cyber Home Education System on the basis of SCORM.
In this study, the characteristics of degradation and mineralization of diazinon using a statistical approach based on Box-Behnken design (BBD, one of response surface method) was investigated in an E-beam process, and also the main factors with diazinon concentration ($X_1$), irradiatin intensity ($X_2$) and pH ($X_3$) which consisted of 3 levels in each factor was set up to determine the effects of factors and optimization. At first, effects of pH and diazinon concentration were investigated to determine the proper range of application on response surface method(RSM). In statistical approach, the regression analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were applied to evaluate the quantitative comparison of each factors in order to obtain the effects were irradiation intensity>diazinon concentration>pH. The regression model predicted the optimization point using the response optimizer to consider the effects of operation conditions were $Y_1=81.73-5.58X_1+23.69X_2-14.23X{_2}^2+4.22X{_3}^2(R^2=99.7%)$, $Y_2=35.23-3.01X_1+10.79X_2-7.58X_2{^2}(R^2=97.9%)$ and 95.7% of diazinon degradation, 41.8% of TOC reduction at 12.75mg/L and 4.26kGy, respectively. The pH condition was not significantly affects on E-beam process than other advanced oxidation processes (AOPs).
This study investigates the innovation resistance when blockchain technology is introduced for the shipping and port industry. For the development of a research model with suitable measures, we review and focus on innovation resistance factors with the blockchain technology derived from previous studies. In this research, we consider four factors (innovation characteristics, consumer characteristics, environmental characteristics, and cost characteristics) with innovation resistance as dependent variables. The innovation characteristics include relative benefits, complexity, and perceived risk. The consumer characteristics consider attitude toward existing products, innovation, and self-efficacy. Social impact variables are environmental characteristics and rationality of cost. In the statistical analysis, we set up eight hypotheses to test the significances between variables and find the following four empirical results. First, the relative advantage and the perceived risk have a significant effect on innovation characteristic, but the complexity of this characteristic has no significant effect on innovation resistance. Second, the rationality of cost has no significant effect on innovation resistance. Third, the attitude toward existing products has a positive effect and the innovation of the consumer characteristic has a negative effect on innovation resistance, while the self-efficacy has no significant effect. Finally, the social impact has a significant effect on innovation resistance to blockchain in the shipping and port industry.

This study is to desist and implement an efficient microbial medical image retrieval system based on knowledge and content of them which can make use of more accurate decision on colony as doll as efficient education for new techicians. For this. re first address overall inference to set up flexible search path using rule-base in order U redure time required original microbial identification by searching the fastest path of microbial identification phase based on heuristics knowledge. Next, we propose a color ffature gfraction mtU, which is able to extract color feature vectors of visual contents from a inn microbial image based on especially bacteria image using HSV color model. In addition, for better retrieval performance based on large microbial databases, we present an integrated indexing technique that combines with B+-tree for indexing simple attributes, inverted file structure for text medical keywords list, and scan-based filtering method for high dimensional color feature vectors. Finally. the implemented system shows the possibility to manage and retrieve the complex microbial images using knowledge and visual contents itself effectively. We expect to decrease rapidly Loaming time for elementary technicians by tell organizing knowledge of clinical fields through proposed system.
A method to quickly estimate broadband moment magnitudes (Mwp) to warn regional and teleseismic tsunamigenic earthquakes is tested for application of the method to the different seismic observation environment. In this study, the Mwp is calculated by integrating far-field P-wave or pP-wave of vertical component of displacement seismograms in time domain from earthquakes, having magnitude greater than 5.0 and occurred in and around the Korean peninsula from 2000 to 2006. We carefully set up the size of the time window for the computations to exclude S wave phases and other phases following after the P wave phase. The P wave velocities and the densities from the averaged Korean crustal model are used in the computations. Instrumental correction was performed to remove dependency on the seismograph. The Mwp after the instrumental correction is about 0.1 greater than the Mwp before the correction. The comparison of our results to the those of foreign agencies such as JMA and Havard CMT catalogues shows a higher degree of similarity. Thus our results provide an effective tool to estimate the earthquake size, as well as to issue the necessary information to a tsunami warning system when the effective earthquake occurs around the peninsula.
This study is to measure the change of the $CO_2$ and floating dust concentration depending on the volume of the ventilation and the state of on/off the ventilation for the estimation of the air pollution in classroom. The results could be summarized as follows: the test cell was the two full scaled model and the one is set up with ventilation system another was not. the volume of classroom is 170.1m3 and the number of persons are 35. 1)when the ventilation system was not installed, The experimental results of the $CO_2$ concentration showed the average of 2,150ppm and the maximum of 2,740ppm in the classroom. This was the higher than 1,000ppm, the standard value of ASHRAE and the enforcement regulations of School Sanitation Code in Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, 1000ppm. The $CO_2$ concentration was relatively increasing during school hours. 3)In case of the volume of ventilation of $800m^3$/h, the $CO_2$ concentration of classroom showed the average of 962 ppm and the maximum of 1,380 ppm. This was higher than 1,000ppm, the standard of ASHRAE and the enforcement regulations of School Sanitation Code in Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development. 4)The floating dust(PM10) was the maximum of 0.52 mg/$m^3$, the minimum of 0.25 mg/$m^3$, and the average of 0.32 mg/$m^3$ in case of the ventilation system off. Those were higher than the standard value 0.15 mg/$m^3$. In case of the ventilation system on, the floating dust(PM10) was the maximum of 0.174 mg/$m^3$ , the minimum of 0.048 mg/$m^3$, and the average of 0.078 mg/$m^3$. These were the lower than 0.15 mg/$m^3$, the standard of the enforcement regulations of School Sanitation Code in Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development. 5)The concentrations of $CO_2$ and PM10 were largely depending on the number of students and the ventilation system, The installation of the ventilation system is necessary for the amenity environment and the management of the indoor air quality.
Korean government drives various programs to improve the performance of university-industry cooperation since 1998 such as BK 21(Brain Korea), NURI(New University for Regional Innovation), Connect Korea Program, and so on. We analyse the relationships between performance of university-industry cooperations and university competency factors(research competency and management competency) through multi-regression model, and propose policy implication. We used the basic data related to the performance of university-industry cooperation and university competency factors from Korean 61 universities. We set up some hypotheses and try to verify them with the method of multi-variable regression analysis including dependent variable(licensing fee, the number of technology transfers, the number of spin-offs) and independent variables(research competency, management competency). We, through this analysis, find both the research competency variables and management competency variables are significant to the performance of university-industry cooperation. Firstly, for licensing fee and the number of technology transfers, research competency variables such as the number of SCIE papers, the number of patent registration were significant, but management competency variables such as the scale of technology leasing organization, the number of specialist were not significant. Secondly, for the number of spin-offs management variables are significant, but research competency varialbles are not. These results imply that both the research competency and management competency of universities are the critical factors for the effective commercialization of university technology not only in United States but also in Korea. In the conclusion, we propose government drive university-industry cooperation policy to enhance the quality of research papers and patent as well as management capabilities of technology leasing organization.
This study examines the wage level from a viewpoint of major-job match as part of an analysis on the skill mismatch problem in 4-year college graduates. The empirical analysis explicitly incorporate the sample selection bias as an econometric problem not only suggested but merely introduced in the earlier studies. This study also set up a major-job match variable, which was usually handled as a binary variable for analytical convenience, as a polychotomous choice variable in selection equation as provided by the survey. In particular, it considered multi-cohort survey on graduates of the years 1982, 1992, and 2002 for the empirical analysis. As a result of empirical analysis, the wage premium of a major-job match was identified. This result was consistent after the consideration of a sample selection bias and also after modeling the major-job match variable as polychotomously selective. Through an analysis classified by the major, this study identified a relatively high wage premium among Social Science, Engineering, and Science majors. However, there was a difference in the effect of selection among these majors. Also, by assessing cohort effects this study found that the skill mismatch had rapidly progressed in 1992, while difference between 1992 and 2002 cohorts are insignificant. The analysis suggests that wage level is better understood within the context of both sample selection and major-job match, and regardless of model specification the major-job match affects wage strongly.
One might have a retrospect on the relationship between the forest and human being from the viewpoint of ecological perspective. It is no doubt that most of the fossil humans should have lived on the forest and the latter provided foods and shelters for humans from their beginning stages, Since the so-called agricultural revolution, humans have extensively started to exploit the forest which had beer, their cradle. The industrial revolution has created another situation against the forest in terms of the quality of ecosystem. These two revolutions have set up the so-called civilization which seems to have been based on the sacrificial oblation of the forest. The cradle for human being has been kept exterminating for the shake of "economic development and miracle." This might be a synoptic history of relationships between the forest and human beings in a sense. designates the behavioral aspects of human being against the forest and people consider the forest only as exploitable resource in this context, and the latter means that people live on the forest and strive to adapt the order of forest ecosystem. The resourcism has developed a strategy of colonialism to exploit the forest and provided a winner's position for the human beings against the forest, This idea and behavioral perspective seems to have started the backfire against the exploiter who is the owner of the civilization. However, there are different philosophies and ideas to view the relationship between the forest and human beings. People within the forest who are mostly considered as "primitives" still keep their idea of the ontology of the forest. There is a theoretical assumption of the "socionatural system" to look into the ecosystem. The forest could be viewed in the above frame of analysis. There are five variables : environment, resource, technology, organization, and ideology. Ideological aspect of the forest can be explained in the context of belief systems. Forest has a meaning of religion and rituals and people within the forest should admire it in anyway of religious reasons. This aspect of the forest cannot be separated from the environmental aspect of the forest. People within the forest acknowledge and practice the above idea. People outside the forest have lost the idea, however, at the cost of acquiring the civilization. They have expelled themselves from the forest and divided the socionatural system of the forest by way of colonialism. The efforts like agroforestry and social forestry would be strategies for recovering the idea of ontology of the forest as well as the sense of community including the forest and human being. People within the forest will be a prospective model for the future socionatural system of the forest for the people outside the forest. At this point, an ecological anthropologist can work with the forest specialists.
