Observer for multiple serial sampling systems (다중시리얼 샘플링 계의 제어를 위한 관측기의 계발)

  • In industrial multivariable plants, it is often the case that the plant outputs are detected in a similar components not simultaneously but serially. In this paper, the problem of estimating the state vector of the plant based on the data obtained from such a detecting scheme is considered, and a special type of observer (referred to as a "multiple serial-sampling" type observer) which renews its internal states whenever a new group of data is obtained is proposed. It is proved that such an observer can be constructed for almost every sampling period if the plant is observable as a continuous-time multivariable system, and that the poles of the closed-loop system using the serial-sampling type observer consist of the poles of the observer and those of the state feedback system. The behaviors of the observer and the closed-loop system are studied by simulation. The results of simulation indicate that a multiple serial-sampling type observer can estimate the state of the plant more accurately than the ordinary type observers and improve the closed-loop performance, especially, in the existence of dectecting noise.ing noise.

  • This paper develops a robot arm for propeller blade grinding. The grinding work requires a high stiffness robot arm to reduce deformation and vibration which are generated during machining operation. Conventional articulated robots have serial connecting links from the base to the gripper. Thus, they have very weak structure to the stiffness for grinding operation. Stewart Platform is a typical parallel robotic mechanism with very high stiffness but it has small work space and large installation space. This research proposes a new grinding robot arm by combining parallel mechanism with serial mechanism. Therefore, the robot has large range of work space as well as high stiffness. This paper introduces the automatic system for propeller grinding utilizing the robot and the design of proposed robot arm.

  • In this paper, we present an architecture for the fault isolation by applying virtualization-based multi-stack technologies. We propose the simultaneous sharing and switching mechanism using virtualied serial communications. Each guest OS has its own virtual serial device. The distribution module provides communications between the guest OS's through the virtual serial devices and simultaneously detect the liveness of the guest OS. The suggested mechanism has been implemented in VirtualBox and shows satisfactory performance in transmission speed and data sharing capability with virtual RS232.

  • In this paper, the connection device of RS232C and TCP/IP implementation using ARM processor and LINUX is proposed. Data interaction flash memory the multiple serial ports are transferred to ARM processor and the data are processed and formed into data packet for transfer via internet protocol. Packet flash memory Internet is decoded to extract the serial port data. The serial ports supports RS232C asynchronous protocol communication and control program is developed in GNU-C and installed in the on-board memory for packet conversion and control. The research result can be applied to terminal server, printer server and multiple serial ports equipments.

  • USB(Universal Serial Bus) is one of the most popular communication interfaces. When USB is used in an extended range, especially configurating In-home network by connecting multiple digital devices each other, USB interface uses the bandwidth in the way of TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) so that the bottleneck of bus bandwidth can be brought. In this paper, the more effective usage of bus bandwidth to overcome this situation is introduced.

  • This paper describes a new serial interface system which uses conventional 75 ohm coaxial cable. Typically parallel 25 pin cable and connectors are used to transfer and receive the data between digital systems such as HDVCR, D3 VTR and HDTV Receiver. The coaxial cable is more desirable for consumer product applications and also for studio applications where long signal paths and switching are required. This serial data transfer technique is thoroughly tested and utilied in the data transmission/reception between systems more than 200 feet apart. It is also cost effective because it does not require RF PLL, SCRAMBLING, and NRZI hardware.

  • Since the period of a spreading code in DS/SS communication systems is generally long, it is necessary to make the code acquisition as fast as possible. The code acquisition time can be sued as a measure to evaluate the performance of code acquisition systems. The search rate of serial search codee acquisition system used in the coventional CDMA cellular system is lower than that of the matched filter technique. In order to reduce the code acquisition time, this paper proposes hybrid code acquisition system composed filters combined with serial search blocks. In the proposed system, the matched filter sweeps possible code phases fast and the acquired phase information is verified by the serial search block. The mean and the variance of its acquisition time are calculated and compared with those of double dwell serial search system. The results indicate better performance of the proposed system by yielding its small vaues of the mean and the variance of code acquisition time.

  • LED lamp was designed by the serial-parallel integration of LED chips in metal-interconnection. The 7 $4.5{\times}4.5\;in^{2}$ masks were designed with the contact type of chrome-no mirror?dark. The white epitaxial thin film was grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition. The active layers were consisted with the serial order of multi-quantum wells for blue, green and red lights. The fabricated LED chip showed the electroluminescence peaked at 450, 560 and 600 nm. For the current injection of 20 mA, the operating voltage was measured to 4.25 V and the optical emission power was obtained to 0.7 $\mu$W.

  • This paper presents a sensor bias estimation method with serial fusion for asynchronous multisensory systems. Serial fusion processes the sensor measurements in a first-come-first-serve basis and it plays an essential role in asynchronous fusion in practice. The proposed algorithm generates the bias measurements using fusion estimates and sensor measurements for bias estimation, and compensates the sensor biases in fusion tracks. A simulation study indicates that the proposed algorithm has the superior performance in bias estimation and accurate tracking.
