The electrical separation joint as a filter circuit distributes the track circuit frequency. The electrical separation joint is classified into the interval where reinforcing bars are insulated and not insulated through the length of track circuit. In case of incorrectly setting up the length of electrical separation joint, the amplitude of current on the track circuit is not over standard current which is the standard of current on the track circuit and it effects on the close frequency on track circuit. Then, it makes an accident or makes a train not receive information for train control. In this paper, the electrical separation joint model is suggested and parameters are numerically calculated in the model. Moreover, the length of electrical separation joint is analyzed and is demonstrated by uisng Matlab and PSpice program.
A CRD experiment with unequal numbers of hens were assigned at random to three treatment groups, 1) separation of chicks from hen at 21 days after hatching 2) separation of chicks from hen at 7 days and 3) hens were allowed to brood the chicks(no separation) up to 10 weeks of age, to determine the productive and reproductive performance of hens and their chicks. The mean cycle length (one hatch to another) was 72.8 days for the 7-day group as compared with 87.7 days and 83.4 days for the 21-day and the no separation groups, respectively (p<.0l). The broody period was 28.5 days for the 7-day group compared with 43.9 and 42.6 days for the 21 days and the no separation groups, respectively (p<.0l). The end of the broody period to the start of lay varied from 8.0 to 8.7 days. The number of eggs laid per clutch were 12.3 for the 21-day group, compared with 11.5 and 10.1 for the 7-day and no separation groups, respectively (p<.05). This is due to the longer (p<.05) clutch length of the 21-day group as compared with the 7-day and no separation groups, respectively. The chicks separated from the hens at 21 and 7 days were heavier (p<.01) than the chicks not separated from the hens. Mortalities were highest (p<.05) for chicks separated at 7 days as compared with chicks separated at 21 days and those not separated. We concluded that separating chicks at 7 days from the hen gave the shortest cycle length and broody period, separating the chicks at 21 days gave the longest clutch length and the maximum number of eggs, separating the chicks at 21 and 7 days resulted in heavier chicks and separating the chicks at 7 days resulted in the highest mortality.

POD (proper orthogonal decomposition) is applied to turbulent leading-edge separation bubble to extract coherent structures. A two-dimensional leading-edge separation bubble is simulated by discrete-vortex method, where a time-dependent source forcing is incorporated. Based on the wealth of numerical data, POD is applied in a range of the forcing amplitude ( $A_{o}$ = 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5) and forcing frequency (0 .leq. $f_{F}$H/ $U_{\infty}$.leq. 0.3). It is demonstrated that the structures of POD have noticeable changes with local forcings. In an effort to investigate the mechanism of decreasing reattachment length, dynamic behaviors of the expansion coefficients and contributions of the eigenfunctions of POD are scrutinized. As the forcing amplitude increases, the large-scale vortex structures are formed near the forcing amplitude increases, the large-scale vortex structures are formed near the separation point and the flow structures become more organized and more regular, accompanying with the reduction of reattachment length. By further inverstigation of POD global entropy, it is seen that the reattachment length is closely linked to the degree of organization of the flow structures.es.s.

In this study, the numerical analysis for the flows around an axial cylinder is carried out in order to investigate the basic characteristics of drag of blunt body. A variation of drag and flow separation for the axial cylinder is investigated according to the length-diameter ratio. Also, the flow separation around the head is removed by rounding-off the front edge of the body to analyze the effect of drag reduction. Most of the drag turns out to be a pressure drag component and the variation of drag is caused by the change of pressure and velocity which is affected strongly by the flow separation at the edges of the axial cylinder. Especially, it is found that the pressure drag component acting on the back of axial cylinder, as known as the base drag, mainly changes the drag. As the length-diameter ratio of axial cylinder increases, the drag sharply decreases and the minimum is shown when the length-diameter ratio is about 2.4. Also, as the length-diameter ratio increases further above 2.4, the drag increases at a slower rate. The pressure drag is almost constant when the length-diameter ratio is greater than 8, but the increase of friction drag component is the reason for the increase of the drag. When flow separation is removed completely at the front edge of the axial cylinder, the pressure drag component is reduced to 12~17%, but the total drag is reduced to only 17%~32% due to the friction drag component that increases linearly proportional to the length-diameter ratio.

Discrete vortex method was applied for simulating an active control of turbulent leading- edge separation bubble. The leading-edge separation zone was perturbed by a time-dependent sinusoidal perturbation of different frequencies and levels. In order to describe the local sinusoidal perturbation at the separation point, a source pulsation vortex technique was proposed. The present two-dimensional vortex simulations were qualitatively compared with the experimental results for a blunt circular cylinder, where perturbation was introduced along the square-cut leading edge of the cylinder $(Kiya et al.^{(6,7)}).$ It was found that the reattachment length attained a minimum point at low levels of perturbation and two minima at a moderate higher perturbation frequency. The effects of local perturbation on the evolution of leading-edge separation bubble were scrutinized by comparing the perturbed flow with the natural flow. These comparisons were made for the distributions of mean velocity and its velocity fluctuations, intermittency and wall velocity. The motions of instantaneous reattachment in the space-time domain were demonstrated, which were also compared with the experimental findings. In order to investigate the reduction mehanism of reattachment length in the separation bubble, various cross-correlations for velocity and pressure and the relevant convection velocities were evaluated. It was observed that the convection velocity was closely associated with its corresponding pulsationg frequency.
This paper addresses the problem of single-channel speech separation to extract the speech signal uttered by the speaker of interest from a mixture of speech signals. We propose to apply time-frequency smoothing to the existing statistical single-channel speech separation algorithms: The soft mask and the minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) algorithms. In the proposed method, we use the two smoothing later. One is the uniform mask filter whose filter length is uniform at the time-Sequency domain, and the other is the met-scale filter whose filter length is met-scaled at the time domain. In our speech separation experiments, the uniform mask filter improves speaker-to-interference ratio (SIR) by 2.1dB and 1dB for the soft mask algorithm and the MMSE algorithm, respectively, whereas the mel-scale filter achieves 1.1dB and 0.8dB for the same algorithms.

A series of numerical simulations have been carried out to study the performances of cyclone-type oil separators, which are designed for refrigeration-system compressors. The corresponding working fluid is R22, which is a typical refrigerant, whereby a mineral-oil droplet is supplied (Ed-highlight-My interpretation). The outlet-tube length in relation to the total chamber volume is considered a design parameter. Depending on the tube length, the separation efficiency varies from 98.7% to 99.3%, while the predicted pressure drop is between 5.1 kPa and 6.4 kPa. Considering both the pressure drop and separation efficiency, the length of the outlet-port tube of the separator is 152 mm.
Method development for complex low molecular mass (LMM) samples using reversed-phase (RP) separation conditions presents significant challenges due to the presence of many unknown analytes over wide concentration ranges. This guide aims to optimize method parameters-column length (L), temperature (T), flow rate (F), and final mobile phase conditions (Øfinal)-to maximize separation peak capacity. Validated by prior research, this protocol benefits laboratories dealing with metabolomics, natural products, and contaminant screening. This practical guide provides a structured approach to maximizing peak capacity for complex LMM separations. It complements computational optimization strategies and offers a step-by-step method development process. The Snyder-Dolan test is highlighted as essential for determining the need for gradient or isocratic elution and guiding column length decisions. The decision tree framework helps analysts prioritize variable optimization to develop effective separation methods for complex samples.
Styrene-acrylamide co-polymer was immobilized on porous partially sub-$2{\mu}m$ silica monolith particles and inner surface of fused silica capillary ($50{\mu}m$ ID and 28 cm length) to result in ${\mu}LC$ and CEC stationary phases, respectively, for separation of anomeric D-glucose derivatives. Reversed addition-fragmentation transfer (RAFT) polymerization was incorporated to induce surface polymerization. Acrylamide was employed to incorporate amide-functionality in the stationary phase. The resultant ${\mu}LC$ and CEC stationary phases were able to separate isomers of D-glucose derivatives with high selectivity and efficiency. The mobile phase of 75/25 (v/v) acetonitrile (ACN)/water with 0.1% TFA, was used for HPLC with a packed column (1 mm ID, 300 mm length). The effects of pH and ACN composition on anomeric separation of D-glucose in CEC have been examined. A mobile phase of 85/15 (v/v) ACN/30 mM sodium acetate pH 6.7 was found the optimized mobile phase for CEC. The CEC stationary phase also gave good separation of other saccharides such as maltotriose and Dextran 1500 (MW~1500) with good separation efficiency (number of theoretical plates ~300,000/m).
The pattern of headward erosion at tributary and the separation zone formation in a loosed bed at confluence according to the confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio have been analyzed. The separation zone is defined the inside of zero velocity boundary at downstream of confluence. The limit of separation zone occurrence is presented with dredging depth ratio. The propagation length of knickpoint increases as the confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio increase in general and its regression equation has been suggested. The length and width ratios of separation zone in a loosed bed increase as discharge ratio and confluence angle increase as well as in a fixed bed. The length ratio decreases and the width ratio increases as dredging depth ratio increases results in great increase of shape factor and backwater rise by the conveyance reduction at confluence. The regression equation of shape factor with confluence angle, discharge ratio, and dredging depth ratio has been suggested.
