  • There have been numerous efforts to provide legal information to the general public easily. Most of the existing legal information services are based on keyword-oriented legal ontology. However, this keyword-oriented ontology construction has a sense of disparity from the relationship between the laws used together in actual cases. To solve this problem, it is necessary to study which laws are actually used together in various judicial precedents. However, this is difficult to implement with the existing methods used in computer science or law. In our study, we analyzed this by using topological data analysis, which has recently attracted attention very promisingly in the field of data analysis. In this paper, we applied the the Mapper algorithm, which is one of the topological data analysis techniques, to visualize the relationships that laws form organically in actual precedents.

  • Botanic gardens are steadily increasing based on people's increased interests in environment and ecology, lengthened leisure hours and improved transportation. However, similar florae and undifferentiated display are considered as problems, while their functions, purposes and characteristics have been more diversified. This study aims to investigate the present conditions and problems of display at botanic gardens and to find out solutions to make them exhibit plants through various ways of display and have their own characteristic, through a case study of seven botanic gardens. As botanic gardens are being recognized as a cultural institution, they should have limitations in the aspect of places that simply collect and exhibit rare plants. The current problems are unclear setting of design goals and communication with visitors. The gardens should escape from the existing supplier-oriented view to a visitor-oriented view, thinking about what the visitors will be able to see and get there. In particular, their display lacks differency, aesthetics, eye-level display, and multi-layered display. In addition to the essential functions of collecting the world's plants, exhibiting them according to purposes and giving scientific learning, botanic gardens should also show a sense of seasons with plants, trigger interests and amusement through unique plants, make visitors more interested in florae and closer to plants, and include social functions. Botanic gardens should be capable of leaning resources display, speciated display, complex and convergent garden-type display, and display fit for local and cultural contexts.

  • Programming education helps learners solve real world problems by applying the principles of computer science. In particular, in the case of object-oriented programming centered around objects or problems that are observed in the real world, learners are able to make the most use of their programming skills in real life. Therefore, in this study, we sought ways to have learners grasp object-oriented concepts in a learner-friendly manner. To this end we conducted an experiment with six students as participants. As a result we could derive two main points. First, the learning tools which can be easily used by learners are required. Second, it is necessary to think thoroughly to learn concepts before implementation of the programming. This study has significance in the sense that it provides a learning method which helps a novice learner to learn the object-oriented programming that he or she feels difficulty to understand.

  • Objective: This experiment is to study how elderly group and their various lifestyles interact with health functional foods, according to their selection behavior. Different lifestyles will be observed closely, as well as how different health conditions and consumer involvements will affect critical decision making in selecting health functional foods. Method: Theories and discoveries from original advanced research were compared parallel to the new study. Results: First, cluster analysis and exploratory analysis were performed amongst different elder lifestyles. Lifestyle exploratory analysis was used for healthy, unique, leisure, and economical-style elders. Cluster analysis was used for material trend oriented, health oriented, complacent oriented-style elders. Health Functional Foods' selection trait Exploratory Factor Analysis showed that product's originality (function, uniqueness, specialty, compatibility, distributor, expiration date), quality (amount, daily dose, visual representation, accessibility, portability, natural ingredients), and popularity (product container, brand image, taste and smell, advertised product, domestic or import, well-known function) were the three main causes. Secondly, the amount of benefits for the elderly group health lifestyle were affected by 'Interest in health', 'Notability of the health functional food', and 'Functionality approved mark'. Specifically, the importance of, 'Interest in health', 'Notability of health functional food', and 'Functionality approved mark' were noticeably high within health oriented elders. Lastly, after examining the data from elder lifestyle's relationship with health functional food selection trait, all three different results showed equal importance. If you closely examine material trend oriented elderly group, selection trait showed distinctively high regards in 'Fundamental Attribute', 'Typical Attribute', and 'Cognitive Attribute'. Health oriented elders showed their distinctively high regards in 'Natural Attribute', and less consideration in 'Typical Attribute' and 'Cognitive Attribute'. Complacent oriented-style elderly group showed less focus on 'Fundamental Attribute', and even less in 'Typical Attribute', and 'Cognitive Attribute'. Health oriented elderly group concluded with above data from the fact that they showed most importance and involvement in health beneficial products that are scientifically proven. • The purpose of this study was to investigate how inner resources of at-risk adolescents evolved through resource-oriented song psychotherapy (RoSPT). For this study, an RoSPT program was developed based on existing literature. Eight weekly group sessions of the RoSPT program were conducted with 25 adolescents who were under probation of prosecution. After completion of the program, 10 of the adolescents participated in individual interviews about the experience of RoSPT. Transcriptions of the interviews were analyzed via content analysis. The results identified nine types of inner resources that were utilized by the participants: hope/desires, challenge, endurance, sense of achievement, sense of competence, pride, discovering true self, courage, and internal locus of evaluation. The study supports that RoSPT can be applied to enhance inner strength of at-risk adolescents who often lack contextual and relational support. Further studies on qualitative exploration of resource formation can be helpful.

  • Extreme sports refers to sports activities with a high level of inherent danger, such as extreme skiing, snow-boarding, mountain biking, motocross bicycling, aggressive in-line skating, wake-boarding, and paragliding. This study investigates the characteristics of extreme sports participants as group identities through an examination of the differences between extreme sports participants and traditional sports groups in lifestyle and sportswear benefits sought. We composed a total 108-item lifestyle profiles characterized by six lifestyle dimensions (dress, diet, home, recreation, consumption, and sense of values); in addition, we developed 32 items for sportswear benefits sought. The surveys targeted 422 sports participants living in Korea (216 men and 206 women, aged 15-23): 119 extreme sports participants and 303 traditional sports participants. All items were evaluated on a 5-point Likert scale, and SPSS 17.0. was used for data analysis. Exploratory factor analysis was conducted to confirm the substructure of each lifestyle dimension and sportswear benefits sought. The results of the factor analysis on each lifestyle dimension are as follows: 5 factors in dress dimension, 4 in diet, 3 in home, 6 in recreation, 5 in consumption, and 6 in sense of values. Six factors of sportswear benefit sought were identified. A t-test revealed that there were significant differences between the two groups in lifestyle dimensions and sportswear benefits sought. This study reveals that the lifestyle characteristics of extreme sports participants are more likely than traditional sports group to be more self-expressive, more distinctive, more fashion-oriented, more conspicuous, and more brand-oriented, while preferring more active sports, more dynamic leisure, and a more sensible life. Another finding is that extreme sports participants seek the distinctive, conspicuous, and latest sportswear benefits.
