The purpose of this study is to identify the aspect of expression about the form of Shwedagon Pagoda as well as to find out its meanings. The aesthetic value of Shwedagon Pagoda appears as the worship and infinite respect to Buddha realizing its beautiful sacred symbol. The meaning of Shwedagon Pagoda is to progress in keeping pace with the specific flexibility of Buddhism in Myanmar developing Buddhistic diversity and accepting its active changes. As time passes, Shwedagon Pagoda has been transformed. It is because that Myanmar's architecture was developed independently being affected by India with the introduction of Buddhism, and accepted it through autonomous reinterpretation. Then, the function of the worship space surrounding Shwedagon was extended and its annexes and statues of the Buddha were built; its scale became larger. This study shows the comparison between Shwezigon Pagoda and Shwedagon Pagoda. This method of investigation reveals that the formal changes of Shwedagon makes it transform to concise composition and develop aesthetical component giving the sense of vertical rise.

Nowadays, fashion is high evaluated as a mean of self expression as well as a formative art itself, The moderns' elevated beauty sense and strong desire for individuality expression have not only advanced various and refined fashion presentation but also led to expansion of fashion to a total coordination covering hair and makeup. Of them, hair styling does play an important role in rounding out the various image of fashion. It is not only far from omittable part but also, out of simplicity in the past, taking formative characteristics in form and structure day by day. Especially, artistic elements of modern arts are being introduced as motives, and of which representative is e introduction of kinetic art which is thought the artistic approval on mechanization trend in the 20th century. Thus, the study was intended to investigate how and in what forms the various features of kinetic arts is reflected in the modern hair shaping, and to suggest a new prospect of kinetic art-applied hair shaping.

The problem being considered here is the determination of optimal guidance laws for a launch vehicle for scientific missions. The optimal guidance commands are determined in the sense that the least amount of fuel is used. A numerical solution was obtained for the case where the position and velocity state variables satisfy a specified constraint at the time of thrust cutoff. The method used here is based on the Pontryagin's maximum principle. This is the method of solving a problem in the calculus of variations. In particular, it applies to the problem considered here where the magnitude of the control is bounded. Simulations for the optimal guidance algorithm, during the 2nd and the 3rd-stage flight of the Japanese rocket M-3H-3, are carried out. The results show that the guided trajectory that satisfying the terminal constraints is optimal, and the guidance algorithm works well in the presence of some errors during the 1st-stage pre-programmed guidance phase.

Each year, significant amounts of Stereoscopic 3D(S3D) contents have been introduced. However, viewers who enjoy the contents readily experience a sense of fatigue on account of various factors. Consequently, many improvement studies have been conducted with the domain of disparity by, for example, simply controlling the disparity or optimizing the reaction speed of viewers' eyes to vergence. However, such studies are limited to the disparity domain and therefore are restricted to a limited number of applications. In this study, we attempted to transcend this limitation and analyzed how a reconstruction in color and brightness, as well as disparity and other important features, affects eyes in terms of vergence adaptation. As a result, we found that, the higher the color similarity is, the better it positively affects vergence adaptation during viewing. Based on this analysis, we propose in this paper a similar color extraction method between takes that are applicable to real-life situations. In an evaluation, the algorithm was applied to publicly available S3D contents and produced a converted color optimized image. The vergence adaptation time of this applied contents was significantly decreased. Also it was minimized through color reconstruction, thereby, being resulted in enhancing viewer concentration.

Just as costumes reflect the spirit of the time, hair styles echo the social changes and even facilitate them, being used as a means of communication. In short, hair styles reflect the cultural life of the time dynamically. In our modern times, fashion is moving very fast, and such a phenomenon is more conspicuous in hair styles. While individuals are eager to pursue their own individuality, hair styles play a leading role in fashion, excelling the costumes. In this sense, we need to note that hair styles may be related with individual, social and psychological factors. As people are more interested in hair colors, the scope of hair color selection becomes wider. People visit beauty shops to have their hair colors changes rather than have their hairs cut. Selection of a hair color seems to be deeply related with individuals' psychological states. Since hair colors have much effects on their facial images, hair designers need to have an empathy with their customers. Each person has his or her own unique image, and his/her selection of hair colors is affected much by external environment as well as his/her traits. With such basic assumptions in mind, this study was aimed at analyzing the preferences of hair colors by those in their 20's, 30's and 40's who are more interested in their hair colors. To this end, their preferences of or tendencies for hair colors were surveyed by sex, age group and job.

The Urban Transit Standardization Program has been supported by the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs. The Program consists of dozen or more projects and thus is quite complex, which implies that the program success heavily depends upon the effective management of various artifacts during the development. Particularly, in the complex systems development, developing and managing requirements is very important throughout the whole system life cycle. The requirements can be the basis of the design changes to be made later as well as the test and evaluation to be performed in the subsequent stages of the systems development. As such, the derivation of the system's requirement based on the needs from the customers, or stakeholder in a broad sense must be done properly. In particular, notice that the system is being developed but the system requirements are not fully available for some reasons. To complement this situation is the purpose of the study. To derive proper requirements effectively in the process of development, this paper proposes to draw up scenario using the output of the system under development and to utilize the use case diagrams and operational scenarios.

This paper extends the use of the hierarchic degenerated shell element to geometric non-linear analysis of composite laminated skew plates by the p-version of the finite element method. For the geometric non-linear analysis, the total Lagrangian formulation is adopted with moderately large displacement and small strain being accounted for in the sense of von Karman hypothesis. The present model is based on equivalent-single layer laminate theory with the first order shear deformation including a shear correction factor of 5/6. The integrals of Legendre polynomials are used for shape functions with p-level varying from 1 to 10. A wide variety of linear and non-linear results obtained by the p-version finite element model are presented for the laminated skew plates as well as laminated square plates. A numerical analysis is made to illustrate the influence of the geometric non-linear effect on the transverse deflections and the stresses with respect to width/depth ratio (a/h), skew angle (${\beta}$), and stacking sequence of layers. The present results are in good agreement with the results in literatures.

Growth characteristics [stem diameter (D), tree height (H)] and wood properties [Pilodyn penetration (P) and stress-wave velocity (SWV)] were measured for 65 families of 6-year-old Acacia mangium trees planted in Indonesia, in order to characterize their variation in D, H, P, and SWV. Therefore, the correlations between the measured characteristics were also determined, and their significant differences observed. Furthermore, their low to moderate values of narrow-sense heritability was obtained, and the results indicated the characteristics to be genetically controlled in A. mangium. In addition, highly significant positive correlations were observed among the growth characteristics, suggesting a close relationship, while there was no significant association between the growth characteristics and P, as well as SWV, indicating their independent. Therefore, these results demonstrate a potential for the improvement of both growth and wood properties of A. mangium trees, using the appropriate breeding programs. In addition, 18 families showed good performance in D and SWV, signifying their positive prospect of being considered as plus trees for the next generation breeding cycles.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continuously influences on the health and well-being of people and communities worldwide. The purpose of this study was to explore the published research articles in the fields of nursing and health during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design is an exploratory study. Samples are the abstracts of the articles from a literature database, PubMed, that were published from January 1st, 2020 to April 15th, 2021. We used a MeSH term, 'nursing' and "COVID-19" to retrieve articles that are related to COVID-19. Five hundred and fifty-five articles were retrieved. Two hundred and sixteen articles were excluded as they were not met the inclusion criteria. The total number of articles used in this study was three hundred and thirty-nine. The average number of articles published during the data collection period was 21.9. Seven topics were discovered from the abstracts of the articles: COVID-19 management and guidance; Perinatal COVID-19 and breastfeeding; Nurse; Health service and support; Patient care; Research; and Education and experience. This study revealed some interesting topics from the articles related to COVID-19 and provided some sense of research areas that may be interesting and allow us to develop important research questions about nursing science and nursing practice.

Heracles has been adored as one of the bravest mythical heroes all times and all places because it was thought that he protected his people and lands from invasion, plunder, or enslavement. However, I argue Heracles should be criticized as a war machine of violence and murder. War is homicide itself, which means humans kill humans, unlike other violent and sensual animals such as dogs, apes or pigs. It is ironically ambivalent to celebrate an excellent hero in homicide in this age of nuclear weapons. This irony leads to S. Freud's 'Death instinct' or Malcolm Potts's 'war genes'. Unlike Freud, Malcolm Potts insists that humans' war genes can be changed into peace genes because they were just remains of Stone Age. According to Apollodoros' myth or Euripides' tragedies, he was mad enough to kill his own sons and wife after he had murdered the king Lycos in Thebes. Though Rene Girard says that his madness was derived from contagion of violence and blood, I think that his madness came from horrible experiences of cruel wars as well as Hera's maltreatment in his childhood. It will be demonstrated to be war neurosis, that is, PTSD(Posttraumatic Stress Disorder). In a different way from the modern media in which Heracles is being glorified as a purest macho and war machine, his old myths show the ambivalence of his violence and murder, and his daily misfortunes owing to his madness. In this sense, his myth is a kind of warning to the humans not to kill each other, or to stop wars.
