  • A core technology that may realize the Semantic Web is Ontology. The OWL (Web Ontology Language) has been positioned as a standard language. It requires technical expertise to directly represent the domain knowledge in OWL. Based on our experience of analyzing the fundamental relationships of concepts in e-catalog domain, we have developed a visual product information modeler called PROMOD. The modeling editor makes it possible to automatically generate the OWL codes for the given product information. We employ an Extended Entity-Relationship for conceptual modeling, enriched with modeling elements specialized for the product domain. In this paper, we present our translation schemes from EER model to OWL codes, and how to design and implement the modeling editor. We also provide a scenario to demonstrate the usage of the editor in practice.

  • CoreNet is a valuable resource to use in the domain of natural language processing including Korean-Chinese-Japanese multilingual text analysis, and translation among natural languages. CoreNet is mapped to SUMO in order to encourage its application in broader fields and enhance its international status as a multilingual lexical semantic network. To do this, indirect and direct mapping methodologies are used. Through the indirect mapping among CoreNet-KorLex-PWN-SUMO, we alleviate the difficulty of translating CoreNet concept terms in Korean into SUMO concepts in English, and maximize recall of SUMO concepts corresponding to the concept of CoreNet.

  • The growing popularity of the Internet has caused the size and complexity of communications and computing systems to greatly increase in recent years. To alleviate this increased management complexity, novel autonomic management architectures have emerged, in which many automated components manage the network's resources in a distributed fashion. However, in order to achieve effective collaboration between these management components, they need to be able to efficiently exchange information in a timely fashion. In this article, we propose a context dissemination framework that addresses this problem. To achieve scalability, the management components are structured in a hierarchy. The framework facilitates the aggregation and translation of information as it is propagated through the hierarchy. Additionally, by way of semantics, context is filtered based on meaning and is disseminated intelligently according to dynamically changing context requirements. This significantly reduces the exchange of superfluous context and thus further increases scalability. The large size of modern federated cloud computing infrastructures, makes the presented context dissemination framework ideally suited to improve their management efficiency and scalability. The specific context requirements for the management of a cloud data center are identified, and our context dissemination approach is applied to it. Additionally, an extensive evaluation of the framework in a large-scale cloud data center scenario was performed in order to characterize the benefits of our approach, in terms of scalability and reasoning time.

  • The article studies the discourse and a legal uncertainty of the popular and generally understandable concept of cybercrime. The authors reveal the doctrinal approaches to the definition of cybercrime, cyberspace, computer crime. The analysis of international legal acts and legislation of Ukraine in fighting cybercrime is carried out. The conclusion is made about the need to improve national legislation and establish international cooperation to develop the tools for countering cybercrime and minimizing its negative outcomes. The phenomenon of nicknames is studied as a semantic source, which potentially generates a number of threats and troubles - the crisis of traditional anthroponymic culture, identity crisis, hidden sociality, and indefinite institutionalization, incognito style, a range of manifestations of loneliness - from voluntary solitude to traumatic isolation and forced detachment. The core idea is that it is the phenomenon of incognito and hidden name (nickname and other alternatives) that is the motivational stimulus for the fact of information trouble or crime.

  • CHILL96 is recommended as development language for telecommunication systems by ITU-T. In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of CHILL96 compiler using C++ intermediate code. Translation rules from CHILL96 to C++ are designed for code generation. The CHILL96 compiler is composed of four parts such s syntax analyzer, visibility checker, semantic analyzer and code generator, and each part has very close relationship with symbol table and abstract syntax tree. Performance evaluation has been performed for feasibility study. After performance evaluation, we conclude the CHILL96 compiler using C++ intermediate sho good performance compared with other CHILL compilers. In addition to high performance and portability, the CHILL96 compiler using C++ intermediate code helps application developers to maintain and enhance telecommunications software by translating CHILL96 program to C++ program.
