  • This paper presents an algorithm for the triangular mesh intersection problem. The key aspect of the proposed algorithm is to reduce the number of triangle pairs to be checked for intersection. To this end, it employs two different approaches, the Y-group approach and the space partitioning approach. Even though both approaches have the same objective of reducing the number of triangular-triangular intersection (TTI) pairs, their inherent characteristics are quite different. While the V-group approach works by topology (reduces TTI pairs by guaranteeing no intersection among adjacent triangles), the space partitioning approach works by geometry (reduces TTI pairs by guaranteeing no intersection among distant triangles). The complementary nature of the two approaches brings substantial improvement in reducing the number TTI pairs.

  • This study has focused on the possibility for recycling of tailings from the Sangdong tungsten mine as powder of self-compacting concrete(SCC). The experimental tests for slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 500mm, V-funnel and U-box were carried out in accordance with the specified by the Japanese Society of Civil Engineering(JSCE). The result of this study, in case of SCC mixed with tailings, slump-flow was decreased with increasing mixing ratio. But reaching time slump-flow of 500mm, V-funnel and U-box were satisfied a prescribed range. The mechanical properties including compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and static modulus of elasticity were checked with the requirements specified by Korean Industrial Standard(KS). The compressive strength of SCC was decreased with increasing replacement, splitting tensile strength and static modulus were similar to those of normal concrete.

  • In this paper, the medium strength self-compacting concrete with simple mix design method was manufactured and investigated about the properties of flowability and strength. Two types of binders like as fly-ash and RP(rock powder) were contained to the SCC in order to obtain the target medium strength of 270-350kgf/$cm^2$. The experimental tests about slump-flow, reaching time to the slump-flow of 50cm, V-funnel and U-box were carried out in accordance with the specified by the Japanese Society of Civil Engineering(JSCE). The mechanical properties such as compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and static modulus of elasticity were checked with the requirements specified by KS.

  • This paper is about the assembly of camera modules for mobile phones. We have particularly researched the assembly process proper for mega-pixel lens assemblies in the camera modules. Herein, we propose that self-adjustment function makes it possible to assemble these lens assemblies without fraction of components. In advance, we observed the assembly process of the lens assemblies to verify the possibility, and checked out it through experiments based on some assumptions.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a cancer rehabilitation program for cancer survivors in the form of a smartphone application and to confirm the effectiveness through Pilot study. The contents of the application consisted of health records, lab-test records, and health information, and the information recorded by the patient was graphically checked for changes over time on my page. 7 subjects who ended acute treatment and were undergoing follow-up were asked to use the application for 4 weeks, and then changes in variables (uncertainty, e-health literacy, self-efficacy, and cancer rehabilitation) were confirmed. It was confirmed that e-health literacy and self-efficiency increased significantly over time after using the application. In addition, the level of cancer rehabilitation was found to increase significantly over time. The application for cancer rehabilitation developed in this study needs to be expanded to improve the quality of life of cancer survivors.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to provide basic data to enhance self-nursing ability by investigating the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy and self-management activities in patients with diabetes accompanying hypertension. Methods: Subjects were 113 type-2 diabetic patients who were diagnosed as hypertensive in two primary medical institutions and taking anti-hypertensive treatments. The existence of postural hypotension was evaluated by blood pressure and pulse rate, and the subjective symptoms of autonomic neuropathy and self-management activities were checked by structured questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, t-test, Wilcoxon rank sum test and analysis of covariance. Results: Postural hypotension occurred in 4.4% of the subjects. Urinary frequency and dizziness during postural changes were the most frequent symptoms of autonomic neuropathy, and 57.5% of the subjects complained of symptoms in two or more domains. The group with autonomic neuropathy symptoms showed higher age, higher living stress, and fewer self-management activities in the diet and foot management domains as compared to the group without autonomic neuropathy symptoms. Conclusion: From these results, we learned that strengthening education on self-management for diet and foot management and customized interventions considering age and living stress are required through early identification of the symptoms of autonomic neuropathy in patients with diabetes accompanying hypertension.

  • In controlling vector of induction motor, PID controller is required much time as the expert should control manually a gain of controller according to plant or a change of circumstances. Accordingly, this paper has gotten a gain of PID controller used neural network by self-funning method in order to settle above problem. The neural network can describe an input/output features in spite of non-linear system which is hard to get mathematical model by controlling the strength of connection by learning. It has a strong character against a distortion and noise of input information, and is suitable modeling of diver-variable system which is composed of several input/output. This paper has represented the self-tunning method for gain of PID controller used neural network when using PID controller to control speed of induction motor, and has checked strong characters against distortion and noise of input information through simulation.

  • In this paper, we propose the 16-layer 3D NAND Flash memory compact modeling using SPICE. In the same structure and simulation conditions, the channel potential about Down Coupling Phenomenon(DCP) and Natural Local Self Boosting (NLSB) were simulated and analyzed with Technology Computer Aided Design(TCAD) tool Atlas(SilvacoTM) and SPICE, respectively. As a result, it was confirmed that the channel potential of TCAD and SPICE for the two phenomena were almost same. The SPICE can be checked the device structure intuitively by using netlist. Also, its simulation time is shorter than TCAD. Therefore, using SPICE can be expected to efficient research on 3D NAND Flash memory.

  • This study is to investigate the influence of start-up factors and self-efficacy on the economic performances of the microenterprise. While the existing studies focused on start-up factors, this study has the meaning that it includes self-efficacy, the psychosocial factors, divides the economic performances by the profit and the number of employees. For this study, 322 copies of answered questionnaires were taken as the data to analyze. As the results of analysis business type, experience of start-up, period of operation, start-up fund and self-efficacy had the significant meaning out of the profit and it was checked out that business type, fund and self-efficacy influenced on the employees. This study discussed the policy and practical suggestion to raise the performances of microcredit based on these results.

  • This study aimed to identify the self-rated health and its associated factors of the elderly. Study subjects were community-dwelling elderly of 60 or more. Survey was done by using questionnaire including general characteristics, lifestyle, and health related variables. Blood pressure, anthropometric variables, lipid profiles, and fasting glucose were checked. Descriptive statistics showed that good self-rated health was 78.2% in the elderly. Multiple logistic regressions revealed that good self-rated health was associated with disease(OR:10.83, 95% CI:2.47-47.43), depression(OR=2.50, 95% CI=1.20-5.18), and exercise(OR=3.01, 95% CI=1.40-6.47). Therefore, health promotion program considering associated factors of self-rated health should be developed.
