Purpose: The present study aims to identify research trends on diabetes mellitus (DM) self-management intervention, suggesting directions for follow-up studies through a scoping review. Methods: This study conducted the scoping review process outlined by Arskey and O' Malley using the JBI (Joanna Briggs Institute) template. The databases used were Riss, Kiss, NDSL, KMbase, Google Scholar. This study searched the literature published between January 2011 and November 2021 by entering keywords related to DM self-management. Results: Thirty-five studies were selected for analysis. The period for 24 articles was 12 weeks or longer. The interventions consisted of education, exercise, counseling, and coaching. Not all studies applied the theory of behavior change. Fourteen studies included three factors relating to behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and blood sugar changes to measure effectiveness, while ten studies included all four factors. Most interventions were effective both in DM self-management and self-care. Further, the intervention persistence effect of each study varied. Conclusion: While research on DM self-management intervention has been conducted at domestically and abroad, this decreased during COVID-19 pandemic. This study suggests the importance of systematically developing effective necessary optimal DM self-management interventions that can change behaviors to prevent diabetic complications and improve quality of life.
본 연구는 대학생들의 구강건강증진행위에 관련된 요인을 알아보기 위해 경기지역에 위치한 3개 대학의 학생 453명을 대상으로 설문조사 하였으며, SPSSWIN 12.0을 이용하여 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 대학생들의 기초구강건강관리실태에서 1년이내 치과방문경험 유무는 '있다' 54.1%, 예방치료유무는 '없다' 53.4%로 나타났다. 2. 대학생들의 현재구강건강상태에 대한 자각정도는 80.1%가 건강하지 않다고 생각하는 것으로 나타났다. 3. 일반적 특성에 따른 차이에 있어서 자기효능감은 성별(p = .022)에서, 구강건강통제위는 전공(p = .000), 흡연유무(p = .004)와, 구강보건지식은 성별(p = .000), 전공(p = .000),연령구분(p = .000), 흡연유무(p = .006)에 따라 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 4. 각 변수들간의 상관관계는 자기효능감, 구강건강통제위, 구강보건지식이 높아질수록 구강건강증진행위가 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 5. 구강건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 변수로는 예방치료유무, 구강건강통제위, 자기효능감이 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났다.
Demand for appropriate health care has gradually increased in Korea. In addition, developments of community- and school-based oral health programs have also focused oral health care for the oral health promotion. Especially, school-based oral health programs are the underpinnings of promoting oral health and preventing oral diseases among schoolchildren. School-based oral health programs have had three major components: oral health education, oral health services, and a healthful environments. These included oral health education(one-to-one communication, group communication, and use of mass communication), oral examination, fluoride mouthrinsing, pit-and-fissure sealants, fluoride gel application, mechanical plaque control, and chewing xylitol candy. In this study, we evaluate the effects of oral health programs among primary schoolchildren by comparing the oral health knowledge, oral health behaviors, and perception of caries prevention procedures. Data for this study were obtained from 699 primary schoolchildren at the two primary school in Daegu, Korea. One is experimental group, N primary school, that was established school-based oral health center under supervision of Nam-gu Public Health Center, the other is control group, N' primary school, that was yet to establish school-based oral health center. We surveyed children's oral health knowledge and behaviors, and perception of caries prevention procedures using self-administrated questionnaire and then analyzed differences of each item among two groups. The brief findings of this study were summarized as follows. There are several advantage to a comprehensive school-based oral health program. (1) School-based oral health programs facilitate and increase the effectiveness of teaching oral health subjects. (2) Schoolchildren are available for prevention or treatment procedure. (3) School-based oral health center may be less threating than private dental clinic. (4) With comprehensive school-based oral health programs the decayed, missing, and filled teeth(DMFT) of schoolchildren should demonstrate a substantial and steady decrease over time(Choi et al, 2004). In conclusion, treatment is not the answer to solving children's oral health programs; rather primary prevention is the key. Many countries and communities are focusing on hoe millions of underprivileged children can be provided with health care. Schoolchildren gain the knowledge and behaviors to attain and maintain good oral health in schools. For these reasons, the role of school-based oral health center is not only important but also a necessity.
This study investigated the relationships among individual factors, family factors, peer relationships and the internalizing and externalizing behaviors of adolescents. The data were obtained from a sample of 417 7th and 8th grade students. These data were collected with questionnaires and analyzed by using a t-test, Pearson's correlation, and a multiple regression analysis with SPSS ver. 18.0. The results can be summarized as follows. There is a significant difference in an adolescent's self-control, their father's rejective rearing, peer pressure, and the peer relationship between boys and girls. The results showed that boys had higher self-esteem and father's rejective rearing than girls. On the other hand, girls had higher peer pressure and more intimate peer relationships than boys. The results revealed that the 7th grade students had higher self-esteem and mother's warmth rearing than the 8th graders. Furthermore, the 8th grade students showed higher shame, mother's rejective rearing, marital conflict, internalizing behavior, and externalizing behavior than the 7th graders. The internalizing behavior in boys was influenced by shame, marital conflict, and peer pressure. In the case of girls, the internalizing behavior was affected by shame, mother's warmth rearing, and peer pressure. The externalizing behavior in boys was influenced by self-control and shame. In the case of girls, the externalizing behavior was affected by self-control, shame, marital conflict, and peer pressure. Adolescents who exhibited higher levels of shame than others and higher peer pressure showed internalizing problem behaviors. Adolescents who had less self-control and more shame, experienced more externalizing behavior problems.
The purpose of this study was to verify potential differences in group- specific external feature concerns and beauty care behaviors of Korean women in their 20's~40's depending on their narcissistic propensity. This study is to take psychological approaches to narcissistic propensity of our contemporary society, so that it can get better understanding about consumers and provide marketing data on beauty-related industry. To meet the above goals, total 400 sheets of questionnaire were distributed to subjects from March 30 to April 8, 2009. Out of 376 sheets of questionnaire collected, total 355 valid questionnaires except incomplete 21 ones were used for final data analysis. For data analysis, this study used SPSS 12.0 as statistic program to perform factor analysis, reliability test (Cronbac's ${\alpha}$ coefficient), cluster analysis, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis. As a result, this study could come to the following findings: First, according to cluster analysis depending upon different factors such as self-directed narcissism, others-conscious narcissism and others-sensitive narcissism, it was found that our women in 20's to 40's could fall into 4 groups, i.e. complex narcissism group, mixed narcissism group, others-sensitive narcissism group and dispirited narcissism group. Second, according to analysis on potential differences in external feature concerns among four groups depending on their narcissistic propensity, it was found that there were significant differences in all relevant factors among groups. Third, according to analysis on differences in beauty care behaviors among four groups depending upon their narcissistic propensity, it was found that there were significant differences in all relevant factors among groups. Fourth, according to analysis on potential factors of external feature concerns that may influence beauty care behaviors of complex narcissism group, it was found that those factors had significant effects on fashion-orientedness, cosmetic surgery and personality pursuit of this group. And it was also found that there were significant differences in fashion-orientedness, cosmetic surgery, makeup and hair styling of mixed narcissism group, others-sensitive narcissism group and dispirited narcissism group respectively.
Objective: This study examined the mediating effect of adolescents' self-esteem on the relationship between their childhood abuse experiences and school rule-breaking behavior. Methods: The research participants consisted of 1,748 adolescents aged from 15 to 16. Adolescents' school rule-breaking behavior and self-esteem were measured in 2016, whereas their childhood abuse experiences were measured in 2010. Panel data collected by the National Youth Policy Institute were analyzed using the bootstrapping technique and PROCESS Macro for SPSS. Results: The results of the study are as follows. First, the adolescents' childhood abuse experiences affected their school rule-breaking behavior. That is, the adolescents who were abused by their parents were at higher risk of breaking school rules later in life. Second, the adolescents' self-esteem mediated the relationship between their childhood abuse experiences and school rule-breaking behavior. The adolescents who were abused by their parents tend to have low levels of self-esteem and thereby break school rules. Conclusion/Implications: The present study shows the possibility that childhood abuse experiences lead to adolescents' problematic behaviors, such as school rule violation. It also indicates that it is necessary to provide counseling and therapeutic interventions for enhancing the self-esteem of adolescents of the at-risk group with childhood abuse experiences.

Legal accountability is no limited to nurses in advanced practice: it is a recognized fact of life for every practicing nurse. whether she is an RN employed as a staff nurse in a hospital, a Certified Nurse-Midwife in independent practice or a patient's home. Therefore, it is essential for nurses to be as familiar as possible with the legal guidelines that govern their patient care responsibilities. However there are only a few studies focused on nursing negligence. To define nurse's civil liability in medical malpractice, it is necessary to indentify both legal nursing behaviors and nurse's due care in those nursing behaviors. So this paper focused on nurse's due care, especially in nursing malpractice. To clarify nurses' due care. chapter II has focused on nursing behavior and the scope of nursing practice based on the medical law and health care related study results. Chapter III deals with the content and scope of nurse's due care. Generally. negligence is defined as not doing something which a resonable person. guided by those ordinary considerations which or dinarily regulate human affairs. would do. or doing something which a resonable and prudent man would not do. Next. it describes how we can set the standard of due care in nursing practice. There is objective factors and subjective factors. And we also discuss about the limitation of due care in nursing practice. Finally. chapter IV deals with the case studies related to nursing negligence in the situation of determination. Second, there is a tendency to put an emphasis on the principal of belief to distinguish who has the liability in the case of medical malpractice among medical care team. So nurses shoud practice nursing care more actively to protect themselves and patients because there is an effort to form professional nurse system and the scope of nursing practice will be deeper and broader. Third, standard of care is a necessary element in establishing negligence. If a nurse is able to meet the standard of care, no breach will be found.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and implement a case-based small group learning program on the care of children with infectious disease, and to examine its effects on knowledge, attitude and preventive practice behaviors of daycare center teachers compared to a control group. Methods: Based on the need assessment, the case-based learning program for the management of infectious children was developed. For this quasi-experimental study, 69 teachers were recruited from 14 child daycare centers in a city located in J province. Thirty four teachers were assigned to experimental group and participated in the case-based small group learning once a week for 5 weeks. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 18.0 program to perform ${\chi}^2$-test and t-tests. Analysis of covariance was used to treat the covariate of the number of assigned children between experimental and control groups. Results: The experimental group showed significantly higher posttest scores in knowledge, attitude and preventive practice behaviors than those of control group (p<.001). Conclusion: These findings indicate that case-based small group learning is an effective educational strategy for daycare center teachers to learn infection management through the emphasis of self-reflection and discussion.
Objectives : This study sought to identify the predisposing factors which influence the adolescent oral health enhancement behavior by analyzing controlling effects depending on the parents' oral health care behaviors in the relationship between the predisposing factors and adolescent behavior improvements which enhance oral health. Methods : A structured, self-administered questionnaire was given from July 6 through July 24, 2016. The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS 18.0 program. Results : Parents' oral health behaviors in terms of discipline and guidance showed a controlling effect in terms of importance (${\beta}$=.116) and benefits (${\beta}$=.133). In addition, the analysis showed that the parents' oral health care behavior had a controlling effect in terms of benefits (${\beta}$=.164) and susceptibility (${\beta}$=-.116). Conclusions : From the results of this study, the development of materials and education courses to lead to behavior changes are thought to be necessary in order to enhance the importance and benefits of the factors of oral health beliefs and to reduce psychological discomfort. Moreover, the role of parents with regard to desirable habits and beliefs to maintain oral health in their children is essential.
Objectives: More than 80% of unintentional injury was related to risk-taking behaviors involved in child accidents. Therefore, diverse care and concerns on safety should be provided from teachers as well as parents to build child safety behaviors. The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of safety concerns from students, teachers, and parents on elementary students' safety behaviors in Korea. Methods: The 5th and 6th grade students participated in this study in 14 elementary schools in Korea and the total number of students was 1,033. The study schools were selected by the stratified cluster sampling method throughout 7 metropolitan areas in Korea. Data were collected by the self-administered survey and the questionnaires were delivered to the vice-principals of the designated schools by ground postal service and the vice-principals conducted survey data collection. The questions on students' safety concerns, teachers' safety concerns, parents' safety concerns, safety practices, safety education, and demographics were included in the survey. All survey responses were encoded into SPSS program and t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were utilized. Results: The students taking accidents one time more per year were more than 60% and the two thirds of them recognized that their accidents were due to their risk behaviors. Parents' education on safety practices was more frequent than teachers' education; furthermore, teachers' concerns on safety behaviors were poorer than students' or parents' concerns. In terms of safety behaviors, the scores of fire and home-related safety behavior were high but the scores of traffic and bicycle, in particular, helmet wearing practice were low. Three concerns from students, parents, and teachers all were significantly related to children's safety behaviors. Conclusions: In conclusion, safety concerns from the close networks are the important indicator of child safety behaviors and, the safety training programs, therefore, for parents and teachers as well as for students need to be developed for improving children's safe behaviors.
