A clustering based wireless internet proxy server with cooperative caching has a problem of minimizing overall performance because some servers become overloaded if client request pattern is Hot-Spot or uneven. We propose a self-learning based adaptive clustering scheme to solve the poor performance problems of the existing clustering in case of Hot-Spot or uneven client request pattern. In the proposed scheme, requests are dynamically redistributed to the other servers if some servers supposed to handle the requests become overloaded. This is done by a self-learning based method based dynamic weight adjustment algorithm so that it can be applied to a situation with even various request pattern or a cluster of hosts with different performance. We performed experiments in a clustering environment with 16 PCs and a load balancer. Experimental results show the 54.62% performance improvement of the proposed schemes compared to the existing schemes.
Background: Many studies have reported positive results of the various mirror training and virtual reality games in improving dynamic standing balance and posture adjustment in chronic stroke patients. However, no systematic study has been conducted to compare the effects of virtual reality games and the mirror balance training. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of Wii balance games and Mirror Self-Balancing Exercises in improving proprioception of knee joint and standing balance of people with chronic stroke. Methods: Twenty patients with chronic stroke volunteered for this study. The subjects were randomly divided into a Wii balance games group and a Mirror Self-Balancing Exercises group with 10 patients in each group. Each training was performed for 30 mins a day for 4 days. In addition to the balance training, 30 mins neuro-developmental-treatment based routine physical therapy was given to both groups. Proprioception was measured using two continuous passive motion devices, and static balance was measured using a Wii balance board. Dynamic balance assessment tools included the Berg Balance Scale, Dynamic Gait Index, and Timed Up-and-Go test. Results: All measured variables before and after the experimental results showed a significant improvement in both groups (p<.05). Only the improvement of the affected knee proprioception appeared to be significantly greater in the Wii balance game group (p<.05). However, other variables did not differ between the groups (p>.05). Conclusion: The findings suggest that both Wii balance games and Mirror Self-Balancing Exercises may be helpful for improving the proprioception of knee joint and the balance of patients with chronic stroke.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of an integrative art therapy program for marriage migrant women to improve self-efficacy, learn conflict resolution strategies, and establish close family relationship. The participants of the program were limited to marriage migrant women residing in A City who lived in Korea for more than two years. 30 women for the experimental group and 31 women for the control group were randomly sampled. Eight sessions were offered. A pre-test was conducted in the first session and a post-test was done one month after the program was finished. The results of the program suggested that the experimental group had a higher effect on self-efficacy and conflict resolution strategies than the control group. The integrative art therapy program for marriage migrant women conducted in this study aims for marriage migrant women to recover confidence and actively establish happy marital and family relationship by providing an opportunity to make success experience. Moreover, the program is intended to be applied to the field to build up the foundation of family and social adjustment in marriage migrant women.
According to modified labeling theory, because persons with mental illness internalize the stigma of the public, they anticipate discrimination or rejection by others. Such reactions may have negative effects on both psychological and social functioning. We propose that perceived stigma are central to understanding the poor adjustment of mental patients. This study was conducted by the survey with 377 mental patients in order to discover the pathways by which perceived stigma affected life satisfaction and self-esteem. The major findings of the study were : 1) Perceived stigma has a direct effect on life satisfaction as well as indirect effect through patients' experience of discrimination. 2) Perceived stigma has no direct effect but indirectly affected self-esteem through patients' experience of discrimination and internal attribution of discriminatory situations. Based on these findings, consumer-initiated anti-stigma campaign were discussed.
This study analyzed the mediating effects of self-esteem and peer relationship in the effects between physical satisfaction and academic adaptation of multicultural youth. The subjects of the study were 1,064 first-year high school students at the time of the survey using the 8th Multicultural Youth Panel (MAPS) data. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, correlations, and path analysis of measurement variables were carried out using SPSS 25.0. According to the analysis, first, multicultural youth's body satisfaction has a positive effect on academic adaptation, and second, self-esteem is completely mediated in the relationship between body satisfaction and academic adaptation. Third, the relationship between multicultural youth's body satisfaction and academic adaptation has been partially mediated. The results will be used to develop basic data and programs to support healthy growth of multicultural youth. These results can be used to develop basic data and programs to devise support measures for healthy growth of multicultural youth.

Mibyeong (sub-health) is a concept that represents the sub-health in traditional East Asian medicine. Assuming that the nose sizes and shapes are related to respiratory function, in this study, we hypothesized that the nose size and shape features are related to the self-rated health (SRH) level and self-rated Mibyeong severity, and aimed to assess this relationship using a fully automated image analysis system. The nose size features were evaluated from the frontal and profile face images of 810 participants. The nose size features consisted of five length features, one area feature, and one volume feature. The level of SRH and the Mibyeong severity were determined using a questionnaire. The normalized nasal height was negatively associated with the self-rated health score (SRHS) (partial ρ = -0.125, p = 3.53E-04) and the Mibyeong score (MBS) (partial ρ = -.172, p = 9.38E-07), even after adjustment for sex, age, and body mass index. The normalized nasal volume (ρ = -.105, p = 0.003), the normalized nasal tip protrusion length (ρ = -.087, p = 0.014), and the normalized nares width (ρ = -.086, p = .015) showed significant correlation with the SRHS. The normalized nasal area (ρ = -.118, p = 0.001), the normalized nasal volume (ρ = -.107, p = .002) showed significant correlation with the MBS. The wider, longer, and larger the nose, the lower the SRHS and MBS, indicating that health status can be estimated based on the size and shape features of the nose.
Objective : To examine the association between dietary factors and cognitive impairment in older Korean women living in the community. Methods : Wave 2 data, from the Suwon Longitudinal Aging Study (SLAS), of 365 women aged 65 years or over, were used. The Korean version of the 30-point Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) was used to assess cognitive impairment (score$\geq$19). Dietary habits and frequencies of food group consumption were also examined. Results : A total of 67 women (18.4%) were found to be cognitively impaired. In bivariate analyses, nondietary factors, such as age, marital status, education, income, self-rated health, depression, emotional support, social activity, exercise, and dietary factors, such as self-rated nutritional status, frequency of beans and bean products and milk and dairy products consumption were associated with cognitive impairment. In the multivariate analysis, a higher frequency ($\geq$1 vs. <1 time/day) of beans and bean products (OR=0.48, 95% CI: 0.23-0.99) and milk and dairy products (OR=0.25, 95% CI: 0.10-0.61) consumption was inversely associated with cognitive impairment, after adjustment for non-dietary factors. Conclusion : These results suggest that dietary factors may play a significant role in cognitive impairment of older Korean women.

This study examined the feasibility of using an automatic lens distortion correction (ALDC) camera as the payload for a photogrammetric unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system. First, lens distortion for the interior orientation (IO) parameters was estimated. Although previous studies have largely ignored decentering distortion, this study revealed that more than 50% of the distortion of the ALDC camera was caused by decentering distortion. Second, we compared the accuracy of bundle adjustment for camera calibration using three image types: raw imagery without the ALDC option; imagery corrected using lens profiles; and imagery with the ALDC option. The results of image triangulation, the digital terrain model (DTM), and the orthoimage using the IO parameters for the ALDC camera were similar to or slightly better than the results using self-calibration. These results confirm that the ALDC camera can be used in a photogrammetric UAV system using only self-calibration.
In this paper, we introduce a new category of Self-Organizing Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks (SOFPNN) that is based on a genetically optimized multi-layer perceptron with fuzzy polynomial neurons (FPNs) and discuss its comprehensive design methodology involving mechanisms of genetic optimization. The conventional SOFPNN algorithm leads to a tendency to produce overly complex networks as well as a repetitive computation load by the trial and error method and/or the a repetitive parameter adjustment by designer. In order to generate a structurally and parametrically optimized network, such parameters need to be optimal. In this study, in solving the problems with the conventional SOFPNN, we introduce a new design approach of evolutionary optimized SOFPNN. Optimal parameters design available within FPN (viz. the no. of input variables, the order of the polynomial, input variables, and the no. of membership function) lead to structurally and parametrically optimized network which is more flexible as well as simpler architecture than the conventional SOFPNN. In addition, we determine the initial apexes of membership functions by genetic algorithm.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a situation-specific theory to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. Methods: Twenty participants with asthma were selected using the theoretical sampling method. The data were acquired through in-depth interviews conducted from June to October 2018 and analyzed using the grounded theory approach of Strauss and Corbin. Results: In total, 69 concepts, 30 subcategories, and 13 categories were generated to explain the disease management experience of patients with asthma. The core category of the disease management experience of patients with asthma was 'management of the disease to prevent aggravation of symptoms over the lifetime'. The disease management process of asthma patients included three steps: the 'cognition phase', the 'adjustment phase', and the 'maintenance phase'. However, some patients remained in the 'stagnation phase' of disease management, which represents the result of the continual pursuit of risky health behavior. There were three types of disease management experiences among patients with asthma: 'self-managing', 'partially self-managing', and 'avoidant'. Conclusion: This study shows that patients with asthma must lead their disease management process to prevent exacerbation of their symptoms. It is imperative to develop nursing strategies and establish policies for effective disease management of patients with asthma based on their individual disease management processes and types.
