This paper describes a delay locked loop with selective starting point for use in a high-frequency systems. SSRDLL (selective starting point RDLL) has been simulated in a 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ standard n-well CMOS process parameter to realize a fast lock-on time. This DLL is shown to be insensitive to variations in PVTL. The simulated lock time of the proposed SSRDLL is within 4 clock cycles at 333㎒ clock input.

In this paper, we have implemented the reflection type band-rejection filter by employing the 3-㏈ hybrid and the frequency-selective loads. The frequency-selective loads have been achieved with the 3-pole bandpass filter terminated by a 50-ohm load. The reflection type band-rejection filter is less sensitive to unloaded Q-factor of resonator than the conventional one. Measurements and simulations on the presented band-rejection filter in this paper show the excellent performances in passband and rejection-band.

In this paper, a method based on the turbo principle is presented which combines diversity reception, equalization, and channel decoding, to combat the high transmission losses over the frequency-selective fading channel. The simulation results show that with the method presented, the BER performance within 0.3 ㏈ from that on the AWGN channel can be obtained over the frequency-selective fading channel in the investigated scenarios.

Rare complications of distal tibia fracture are claw-toe deformity, cavus deformity and checkrein deformity. These complications may be due to contracture of the muscles of the deep posterior compartment of the leg after a compartment syndrome. These 4 cases were treated by selective tendon lengthening of flexor tendon at the retromalleolar level.

We report on a new method of fabricating color filters based on selective wetting of color inks. The reversible formation of a hydrophobic layer provides sequential generation and protection of successive color filter patterns through a simple coating process. The transmittance and geometrical properties of the fabricated color filter were described.

We consider electromagnetic field radiation properties of a current filament placed at the origin of a cylindrical frequency selective surface (CFSS). The CFSS consists of free standing metal strips with two-dimensional periodicity. The analysis is based on a cylindrical Floquet mode wave expansion technique. We observed that near the half wavelength resonance frequencies, there exist some specific frequencies at which the surface becomes totally transparent.

n this paper, an efficient LP method for discrete harmonic spectra is proposed and discussed. A new efficient LP method is a combination of recursive and frequency selective LP. While the recursive LP provides better spectral matching in spectral hill, frequency selective LP eliminates numerical instability and improves spectral matching when the harmonics are confined in the low frequency region. The proposed LP method is applied to the HILN coder. Simulation results using a verification model(VM) software for real audio signals show a definite trend of significant improvement.

Reaction of carbonyl compounds with B-alkoxydiisopinocampheylborane (Ipc2BOR, R=H, Et, i-Pr, t-Bu) was investigated in detail in order to establish their usefulness as selective reducing agents. The reagents were extremely mild and reduced only aldehydes effectively under mild conditions. The reagents also reduced α,β-unsaturated aldehydes to the corresponding allylic alcohols without any detectable 1,4-reduction. Furthermore, aldehydes can be reduced in the presence of epoxides and acid chlorides. Consequently, the selective reduction of aldehyde groups in the presence of keto and all other functional groups has been realized with these reagents.

Selective logging is currently a widely adopted management practice throughout the tropics. Monitoring of spatial extent and intensity of such logging is, therefore, becoming an important issue for sustainable management of forest. This study explores the possibility of using vegetation indices and Landsat 7 ETM+ image for this purpose. Two dataset acquired on 2002 and 2000 of Labanan concession area East Kalimantan, Indonesia were used. Three different vegetation indices (MSAVI, SAVI and NDVI) slicing and differentiating methods were tested. The results showed that the MSAVI is superior with overall accuracy of 77% and kappa 0.64.

Phase-change wet-etching technology using GeSbTe phase-change films is developed. Selective etching between an amorphous and a crystalline phase can be carried out with an alkaline etchant of NaOH. Etching selectivity is dependent not only on the concentration of the alkaline etchant but also on the film structure. Specifically, metal films for heat control cause marked effects on the etching properties of GeSbTe film. Surviving amorphous pits can be obtained with Al metal layer, however etched amorphous pits are seen with Ag metal layer. An opposite selective etching behavior can be observed between samples with two different metal layers.
