The purpose of this study is, first, to identify consumption behavior regarding well-being foods of the present and the future; and second, to discover well-being food-related information consumers require and information sources they use most frequently during the purchase of well-being foods in order to enhance reasonable decision-making and satisfaction during the selection of well-being foods. This study conducted research on university students using questionnaires from March 10 to March 20, 2007, and a total of 323 copies are employed for the final analysis. The key findings include the following. 1. University students answered that they would commit to active well-being food-buying consumer behavior more in the future than the present. 2. They requested information about quality and price from the information concerning well-being foods the most. Also, consumers most wanted to obtain well-being-related information on the Internet. 3. Regarding the needs for well-being food-related information, the more highly they thought of well-being foods, the more they acquired existing well-being-related information. Furthermore, the more they would be active in well-being food consumption behavior in the future, the higher their needs for information were.
Purpose: This study was designed to explore pain and self-care behaviors and identify related variables in patients with chronic arthritis. Method: One hundred fifty patients with arthritis were recruited from two university based arthritis centers according to selection criteria. Collected data were analyzed using the SAS program to analyze the responses to the structured questionnaires of the study. Result: Most of the participants expressed pain and the intensity of the pain was moderate. There were significant differences according to age, educational level, diagnosis, duration of illness, number of affected joint, and use of complementary therapy. Self-care behavior scores were moderately high. The highest practice was for 'regular visits to the hospital', and the lowest for 'applying physical therapy at home'. The mean self-care behavior scores showed significant differences according to economic status and educational level. Pain scores showed no correlation with self-care behavior. Conclusion: Developing self-management programs for patients with chronic arthritis should focus on self-care skills which are applicable in the relief of pain and enhancement of knowledge. The skills are recommended not only for better health practices but also for enhancing the level of well-being and life satisfaction.
This study investigates the effects of sociocultural influences of appearance(parental influence, media influence, peer influence) on body dissatisfaction and appearance enhancement behaviors(clothing selection, skin care, make-up, hair care, weight management). For data collection, a questionnaire was administrated to 562 female college students in Gwangju, Chonnam area and Chonbuk area, Korea, from May 23 to June 10, 2011. To analysis the data, descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, and path analysis were conducted. The results were as follows. First, the overall effects of sociocultural influences of appearance on body enhancement behavior turned out to have positive effects. Second, overall sociocultural influences of appearance had positive effects on body dissatisfaction. Third, the overall effects of body dissatisfaction on appearance enhancement behavior did not appear to be statistically significant. Forth, the effects that sociocultural influences of appearance on appearance enhancement behavior mediated body dissatisfaction appeared to be insignificant.
Recently, self-efficacy is one of the critical constructs that have been found to influence human decisions about behavior selection and the performance associated with the selected behavior. The construct has been widely adopted and tested In the fields of social psychology and/or other behavioral sciences. In information systems field, however, it has been hardly studied, although computer self-efficacy could have been an important factor explaining and predicting human computer usage behaviors. From this perspective, main purposes of the study is to understand causal relation among the factors influencing computer self- efficacy, computer usage behavior and computer self-efficacy. The research reported in this study have several objectives; 1) to develop a measure of computer self-efficacy, 2) to Identify the factors influencing self-efficacy, and 3) to reveal the relationship between self-efficacy and computer usage behavior and then 4) to explain the causal model of computer self-efficacy. By reviewing the literature, past experience, others' use, encouragement by others, and anxiety are selected as the factors influencing computer self-efficacy. Four hypotheses concerning the relationship between each of the variables and computer self-efficacy are tested by LISREL. One more hypothesis about the relationship between computer self-efficacy and computer usage is also tested. The results show that computer self-efficacy is significantly influence by computer anxiety, encouragement by others, and computer experience, and that it is closely correlated with computer usage behavior.
This article examined relationships between selected variables, such as demographic background, care, treatment variables, environmental characteristics, and patient's daily behavior and mood change. Relationship were determined between independent variabltherapeutic-rapeutie approach, demographic data, environmental management approach-,and dependent variable-patient's daily behavioral and mood change. 35 patients selected within some criteria in a psychiatric ward, were obserbed during 5 weeks by use of Wyatt's Behavior & Mood Rating Scale ac-cording to the object of the study. At the same time, the frequence of the care and treatment were collected. Criteria for sample selection and independent variables as an influential factor to the patient behavioral change, based on a literature revienw and clinical experiences. Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to determine the influfntial factors to the patient behavioral change. Systematic reading (r=.8324), Psychiatrist's individual interview (r=.5764), tranquilizer (r=.3441) and hospitalization processing date (r=.4143) were related with patient's behavioral change. That is these 4 variables can be said to influence to the patient's behavior and mood. A stepwise multiple regression analysis of the effect of the independent varibles of systematic reading, psychintrists individual interview, tranquilizer and hospitalization processing date on the dependent variable, patient's behavioral change was carried out. Systematic reading with on R²of. 69 revealed to be the main influential factor to the patient's behavior and mood change, as the next factor psychiatrist individual interview. A total inclusion of these factors revealed a 73% prediction for the patient's behavior and mood change. But the most influential factor was the interaction of the systematic reading and psychiatrist's individual interview.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a gambling addictive behavior scale for adolescents. Methods: The process involved construction of a conceptual framework, initial item search, verification of content validity, selection of secondary items, and extraction of final items. The participants were 299 adolescents from two middle schools and four high schools. Item analysis, factor analysis, criterion validity, internal consistency, and ROC curve were used to analyze the data. Results: For the final scale, 25 items were selected, and categorized into 4 factors which accounted for 54.9% of the total variance. The factors were labeled as loss of control, life dysfunction from gambling addiction, gambling experience, and social dysfunction from problem gambling. The scores for the scale were significantly correlated with addictive personality, irrational gambling belief, and adolescent's gambling addictive behavior. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the 25 items was .94. Scale scores identified adolescents as being in a problem gambling group, a non-problem gambling group, and a non-gambling group by the ROC curve. Conclusion: The above findings indicate that the gambling addictive behavior scale has good validity and reliability and can be used with adolescents in Korea.

The objective of the present study is the depth and layout optimizations of a single layer, high level radioactive waste repository in a discontinuous rock mass with special joint set arrangements. A single layer repository model, considering variations in the repository depths, pitches, and tunnel spacings, is used to analyze the thermomechanical interaction behavior. It is assumed that the repository is constructed in saturated granite with joints; the PWR spent fuel in a disposal canister is installed in a deposition drift which is then sealed with compacted bentonite; and the backfill material is filled in the repository tunnel. The decay heat generated by the high level radioactive wastes governs the thermomechanical behavior of the near field rock mass of the repository. The temperature and displacement behavior of the repository is influenced more by the pitch variations than the tunnel spacing and repository depth. However, the stress behavior is influenced more by the repository depth variations than the pitch and tunnel spacing. For the final selection of the tunnel spacing, pitch, and repository depth, other aspects such as the nuclide migration through a groundwater flow path, construction costs, operation costs, and so on should be considered.
