Process Development and Verification for Construction VE Object Selection of Performance-Oriented (성능중심의 건설VE 대상 선정 프로세스 개발 및 검증)

  • The current VE activity is recognizing the VE object selection in job-plan simply as formal procedure. Therefore, many problems are happening in the process of selecting VE object during the preparatory stage. As a result of trying to analysis problems through literature review and expert interview, the problems were surveyed such as the lack of connectivity between preparatory stage and analytical stage, the temporal cost-based restrictions, and lack of recognition in VE team members in the existing method of selecting subjects centering on the high-cost field. Accordingly, this study suggested the improved method of selecting VE objects in order to solve this problem in the stage of selecting VE objects. An improvement method of selecting VE objects is what selects the secondary VE subjects by applying again Fish-Bone diagram and Worth technique based on the primary VE objects, which were selected by the conventional technique of selecting objects in the high-cost field. To verify effectiveness in the proposed improvement method, it tried to apply it to the actual case of the road construction VE project. As result of, the improvement method was analyzed to be considerably effective in comparison with the existing selection method of VE objects. Therefore, the Improvement method will contribute to increasing the VE performance.

The Mediating Effect of Job Satisfaction on the Relationship between Motives for Selecting a Teaching Profession and Burnout of Early Childhood Teachers (유아교사의 교직선택동기와 소진의 관계에서 직무만족도의 매개효과)

  • The aim of this study was to identify the interrelationship among the motives for selecting a teaching profession, job satisfaction, and the burnout of preschool teachers. In particular, this study examined the mediating effect of job satisfaction on the relationship between their motives and burnout. Data were collected from a group of 200 kindergarten and daycare center teachers working in Seoul, Choongnam and Kyeonggi Provinces. Data analysis was conducted using the PASW Statistics 18.0. The results are as follows. First, there were correlations among their motives for occupational choice, job satisfaction, and burnout. Their motives for selecting a teaching profession and job satisfaction had an influence on their burnout. Second, job satisfaction had a mediating effect on the relationship between motives for selecting a teaching profession and burnout of preschool teachers. These results suggest that improvements of their job satisfaction would help alleviate their burnout and mediate the influence of motives for selecting a teaching profession.

Customizable Global Job Scheduler for Computational Grid (계산 그리드를 위한 커스터마이즈 가능한 글로벌 작업 스케줄러)

  • Computational grid provides the environment which integrates v 따 ious computing resources. Grid environment is more complex and various than traditional computing environment, and consists of various resources where various software packages are installed in different platforms. For more efficient usage of computational grid, therefore, some kind of integration is required to manage grid resources more effectively. In this paper, a global scheduler is suggested, which integrates grid resources at meta level with applying various scheduling policies. The global scheduler consists of a mechanical part and three policies. The mechanical part mainly search user queues and resource queues to select appropriate job and computing resource. An algorithm for the mechanical part is defined and optimized. Three policies are user selecting policy, resource selecting policy, and executing policy. These can be defined newly and replaced with new one freely while operation of computational grid is temporarily holding. User selecting policy, for example, can be defined to select a certain user with higher priority than other users, resource selecting policy is for selecting the computing resource which is matched well with user's requirements, and executing policy is to overcome communication overheads on grid middleware. Finally, various algorithms for user selecting policy are defined only in terms of user fairness, and their performances are compared.

  • It's important to classify criteria in selecting suitable area about the huge industrial area and housing area. Also it's need accurate criteria and effectiveness in selecting suitable area. The aim of the study is to investigate area using data result from aspect, elevation, slope were analyzed by satellite image and DEM. Finally, review the effectiveness and complement of cirteria in the future.

  • The purpose of this paper is to establish standard for selecting musical materials for teaching English pronunciation in elementary school. For this purpose, 110 songs of wee sings and the curricula of English and Music of elementary school are analyzed, and the results became the basis of establishing standards. Four standards are established and each standard divided into several steps according to the degree of complexity. And the degree of complexity of two songs are figured out to know the possibility of application.

  • Recectly, development of expert system utilizing the domain specific knowledge focuses upon the machining operations. This paper describes an expert system for selecting the optimum grinding wheel based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Logic. Knowledge-base, in this system, for selecting of grinding wheel is designed to appling the knowhow and experience knowledge of skilled hands. In this paper, firstly determination method of fuzzy membership function utilizing the qualitative knowledge, and then selection of the optimum wheel from among the available components according to Saaty's priority rule are described. Lastly,some implementation results are suggested.

  • This paper introduces how to adopt the X-12-ARIMA to decompose the railway passenger demand of the Korea National Railroad Especially, selecting on proper filters is focused. The trend filter is identical to the low pass filter in the signal Processing field, and so the seasonal filter is to band pass filter too. Some considerations, selecting a filter, are provided from the view-point of the spectrum analysis. The technique introduced in this paper will be adopted to the project that is to develope the forecasting system of Korea railway passenger demand which is a part of the high speed rail information system.

  • Due to the increasing of multimedia data quantity, database searching based on image becomes important. For this scheme, MPEG-7 gives a good solution to efficient data searching. MPEG-7 uses Descriptors which are color, texture, and shape to extract features from images. It is obvious that using more than one Descriptor causes more accurate data searching result than using just one. In this paper, selecting a composite of MPEG-7 visual Descriptor using KL-Expansion is proposed.
