유사량 산정공식에 따른 유사 및 하상변동 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Prediction of Sediment and Riverbed Variation According to Sediment Transportation Functions)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of riverbed variation due to the sediment protection weir located on the estuary of the main stream of Taehwa river using I-D finite difference model, HEC-6 model, and the followings are the results of estimating sediment transport rate, amount of scour or deposition, and accumulated amount of deposit according to before and after of the sediment protection weir removal with various flow rates in the channel. Ackers-White transport function produced the greatest sediment transport rate while Meyer-Peter showed the smallest sediment transport rate at the most down stream area of the watershed through the sediment transport rate analyses for various flow rates according to the existence or nonexistence of the sediment protection weir. Toffaleti's and Colby transport function were closest to the average value, and the difference among the results of the sediment transport functions showed up to 8~9 times. Duboy's transport function produced the greatest riverbed variation while Toffaleti's showed the smallest variation through the riverbed variation analyses according to the existence or nonexistence of the sediment protection weir. Yang's was closest to the average value, and the difference among the results of the riverbed variation analyses ranged from 1.4 times to 11 times. It is thought that a sediment transport function must be selected very carefully with respect to the criteria of sediment yield estimation because the analysis results of the sediment transport rate and riverbed variation according to flow rates showed significant differences among the sediment transport functions, and the differences of sediment transport rate and riverbed variation according to the various sediment transport functions decreased as the flow rate increased.

연직수문의 퇴적토 배출특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Sediment Transport Characteristics Through Vertical Lift Gate)

  • 하단배출 형태의 연직수문을 대상으로 퇴적토 배출특성에 따른 두부침식 거리비, 퇴적토 이동거리와 이동량을 분석하기 위해 수리 모형실험과 차원해석을 수행하였다. Froude 수와 배출특성의 상관관계를 도식화하고, 퇴적토 배출특성을 지배하는 무차원 매개변수에 의한 다중회귀식을 제안하였다. 두부침식거리, 퇴적토 이동거리와 이동량에 대한 각 다중회귀 분석식의 결정계수는 각각 0.618, 0.632, 0.866으로 높게 나타났다. 개발한 퇴적토 배출특성식의 사용성을 평가하기 위해 실제 측정값과 회귀분석식에 의해 계산된 값의 95%의 예측 신뢰구간 분석을 수행하였고, 두부침식거리, 퇴적토 이동거리와 이동량에 대한 예측의 정확도 분석차원의 NSE (Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency), RMSE (root mean square)와 MAPE (mean absolute percentage error)는 적절한 것으로 판단되었다.

분포형 유역모델을 이용한 유사 운반과정의 시·공간적 변동 해석 (Estimating Temporal and Spatial Variation of Sediment Transport Processes using a Distributed Catchment Model)

  • For effective management of sediment-related diffuse pollution, it is of utmost importance to estimate spatial variation of sediment transport processes within a catchment. A mathematical model can play a critical role in estimating sediment transport processes at the catchment scale provided that the model structure is appropriate for representing major sediment transport processes of the catchment of interest. This paper introduces a distributed catchment model River Basin Water Quality Simulator (RBWQS) and presents some results of its application to a small rural catchment in Korea. The model has been calibrated and validated for a wet period using hourly hydrographs and sediment concentrations observed at the catchment outlet. Based on the model simulation results, the spatial variation of sediment transport processes across the catchment and the effects of paddy fields and small reservoirs on hydrology and sediment transport have been analyzed at the catchment scale.

The Effect of Cross-Shore Sediment Transport on Bar Parameters: an Experimental Study

  • The cross-shore sediment transport in a coastal region causes the important changes in beach morphological properties. The accurate estimation of the cross-shore sediment transport is important for the designing of the marine structures such as seawalls, jetties, breakwaters etc, and the preventing coastal erosion and accretion due to on-off shore sediment transportation. In this study, the experiments on cross- shore sediment transport carried out in a laboratory wave channel for initial beach slopes of 1/8, 1/10 and 1/15. Using the regular waves with different deep-water wave steepness generated by a pedal-type wave generator, the geometrical characteristics of beach profiles under storm conditions and the parameters affecting on-off shore sediment transport are investigated for the beach materials having medium diameters of $d_{50}$=0.25, 0.32, 0.45, 0.62 and 0.80 mm. The experimental results obtained from this study compared with previous experimental work and found to be of the same magnitude as the experimental measurements and followed the expected basic trend.

  • When we want to reproduce transport of sediment in the fields in a laboratory, we have to establish a similitude law. A similitude law is necessary when sediment transport of field is reproduced in a laboratory. When we apply our knowledge about sediment transport obtained in the laboratory to predict sediment transport in the field, we can apply Froudian law to a fluid motion that becomes agitation agency and transporting flow of sediment movement.   • 하천에서 유사이송 및 하상변동을 예측하는 여러 방법들 중 수치모형을 이용하는 방법이 현재 가장 많이 이용되고 있으며 특히 단일 유사량 산정 공식과 유사이송 형태를 현장자료와의 검증과정 없이 대부분 그대로 적용하고 있는 실정이다. 수치모형을 이용한 특정 대상하천의 정확한 하상변동 예측을 위해서는 유사량 산정 공식 및 유사 이송 형태에 따른 하상변동 민감도 분석 및 모형 검증과 검정 작업이 반드시 필요하며 이러한 과정을 통해 대상하천에 대한 최적의 유사량 산정 공식과 유사 이송 형태를 선정해야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 실제하천을 대상으로 여러 유사량 산정 공식과 유사 이송 형태를 다르게 적용이 가능한 CCHE2D 모형을 이용하여 하상변동 수치모의를 수행하였다. 유량 크기별 모의조건을 적용하여 하상변동 민감도를 분석을 통해 대상하천에서 적합한 유사량 공식과 이송 형태를 선정하고 실제수문사상의 유량 및 수위 조건을 적용하여 모의를 수행한 결과와 대상 하천에서 측량한 단면과 비교하여 검정을 실시하였다.

후포해빈에서 해안선의 장기변화 및 전연안표사량의 추정 (Long-Term Shoreline Change and Evaluation of Total Longshore Sediment Transport Rate on Hupo Beach)

  • The harbor siltation by longshore sediment transports has become a serious problem on the East Coast of Korea. A reasonable prediction of the longshore sediment rate is important to approach the siltation problem effectively. In the recently developed 1-line model, the empirical constants of the sediment transport formula, which include the absolute quantity of sediment transport rate and the spatial distribution of breaking wave height by wave deformation, are treated as calibration parameters. Since these constants should be determined by the very long-term shoreline data, the longshore sediment rates are much more reasonable values. The method was applied to Hupo Beach, which has experienced heavy siltation. The authors also discuss long-term shoreline change using aerial photos and the observed wave-induced current patterns. According to the result, the SW-direction sediment transport rate was $146,892m^3/year$, and the NE direction was $2,694,450m^3/year$ at Hupo Beach for the last 11 years. The siltation in Hupo Harbor might be affected by the NE-direction sediment transport from Hupo Beach.

하천 내 유사와 인 이동에 관한 모델링 (Modeling of Sediment and Phosphorous Transport in a River Channel)

  • A model has been developed to investigate in-river sediment and phosphorus dynamics. This advective-dispersive model is coupled with hydrodynamics and sediment transport submodels to simulate suspended sediment, total dissolved phosphorus, total phosphorus, and particulate phosphorus concentrations under unsteady flow conditions. It emphasizes sediment and phosphorus dynamics in unsteady flow conditions, in which the study differs from many previous solute transport studies, conducted in relatively steady flow conditions. The diffusion wave approaximation was employed for unsteady flow simulations. The first-order adsorption and linear adsorption isotherm model was used on the basis of the three-layered riverbed submodel with riverbed sediment exchange and erosion/deposition processes. Various numerical methods were tested to select a method that had minimal numerical dispersion under unsteady flow conditions. The responses of the model to the change of model parameter values were tested as well.

유한요소법(有限尿素法)에 의한 항만(港灣)에서의 토사이송추정모형(土砂移送推定模型) (Sediment Transport Prediction Model in a Harbor by Finite Element Method)

  • 하구(河口), 항만(港灣) 등에서 응집성(凝集性) 및 비응집성토사(非凝集性土砂)의 이송추정(移送推定)을 위한 이차원토사이송추정모형(二次元土砂移送推定模型)이 개발되었으며 이 모형(模型)은 흐름에 의한 순환모형(循環模型)과 토사이송모형(土砂移送模型)으로 구성된다. 토사이송모형(土砂移送模型)은 이차원확산(二次元擴散) 방정식(方程式)과 연속방정식(連續方程式)으로 이루어진다. 해(解)는 Galerkin 유한요소법(有限尿素法)과 이단계(二段階) Lax-Wendroff 방법(方法)에 의하였다. 이차원수로(二次元水路)의 상이(相異)한 조건하에서 순환(循環)과 토사이송(土砂移送)에 관하여 수치모의(數値模擬) 되었으며 부산항(釜山港)에 적용하여 얻어진 결과중에서 실측치(實測値)와 비교가 가능한 흐름양상(樣相)은 대체로 실측치(實測値)와 근사(近似)하게 나타났다.

Investigation of bar parameters occurred by cross-shore sediment transport

  • Cross-shore sediment transport is very important factor in the design of coastal structures, and the beach profile is mainly affected by a number of parameters, such as wave height and period, beach slope, and the material properties of the bed. In this study cross-shore sediment movement was investigated using a physical model and various offshore bar geometric parameters were determined by the resultant erosion profile. The experiments on cross- shore sediment transport carried out in a laboratory wave channel for initial base slopes of 1/8, 1/10 and 1/15. Using the regular waves with different deep-water wave steepness generated by a pedal-type wave generator, the geometrical of sediment transport rate and considerable characteristics of beach profiles under storm conditions and bar parameters affecting on-off shore sediment transport are investigated for the beach materials with the medium diameter of $d_{50}$=0.25, 0.32, 0.45, 0.62 and 0.80 mm. Non-dimensional equations were obtained by using linear and non-linear regression methods through the experimental data and were compared with previously developed equations in the literature. The results have shown that the experimental data fitted well to the proposed equations with respect to the previously developed equations.
