Induction heating is utilized in a large and ever-increasing number of application. The most prominent of these are billet heating heat treating, metals joining, and metal melting. In these day, heating roll, a kind of induction heating, is widely used in curing of coatings and fiber industry. In this paper, at first, treated that heating roll's characteristics equation. The second, analysis of magnetic flux and eddy currents distribution using FEM.

In this paper, we present the parameter identification for inelastic and multi-scale problems. First, the theoretical background of several fundamental methods used in the upscaling process is reviewed. Several key definitions including random field, Bayesian theorem, Polynomial chaos expansion (PCE), and Gauss-Markov-Kalman filter are briefly summarized. An illustrative example is given to assimilate fracture energy in a simple inelastic problem with linear hardening and softening phases. Second, the parameter identification using the Gauss-Markov-Kalman filter is employed for a multi-scale problem to identify bulk and shear moduli and other material properties in a macro-scale with the data from a micro-scale as quantities of interest (QoI). The problem can also be viewed as upscaling homogenization.
Geotechnical structures have been analyzed and constructed in various geometry conditions to maintain their stability in accordance with the characteristics of construction design. Shear strengths are generally obtained from triaxial test to apply to design analysis. Geotechnical structures under strip loading, such as earth dam, embankment, and retaining wall, have the strain in a direction, and plane strain condition. Thus, an approximate shear strengths should be applied for stability analysis suitable to ground condition. When applying shear strengths obtained from triaxial tests for slope stability analysis, the evaluation of it may underestimate the factor of safety because the implementation is not suitable for geometry condition. The paper compares shear strengths obtained from triaxial test and plane strain test based on various relative densities using weathered granite soils. Additionally, yield stress is determined by maximum axial strain 15% in triaxial test because of continuous kinematic hardening, but plane strain test can determine a failure point in critical state to evaluate the shear strengths of soils at the second plastic hardening step. This study proposes to perform an appropriate test for many geotechnical problems with plane strain condition.

The normal stress of cement paste measured under squeeze flow is divided into an elastic solid region at strains between 0.0003 and 0.003 and a strain-hardening region at strains of 0.003 and 0.8. A modeling equation at the strain-hardening region was proposed. First, from the viewpoint of fluid behavior, the power-law non-Newtonian fluid model, with a power-law consistency (m) of 700 and a power index (n) of 0.2, was applied. The results showed good agreement with the experimental results except for an elastic solid region. Second, from the viewpoint of ductile yielding solid behavior, the force balance model was applied, and the friction coefficient between the sensor part measuring the load and the surface of the cement paste was derived as a polynomial of the normal strain by applying the half-interval search method to the experimental data. The results showed good agreement with the experimental results only in the middle normal strain region at strains between 0.003 and 0.3. The rheological behavior of the cement paste under squeeze flow was more consistent with the experimental results from the viewpoint of power-law non-Newtonian fluid behavior than from the viewpoint of ductile yielding solid behavior in the strain-hardening region.

In this study, mortar test specimens were produced by varying the mixing ratio of CO2 reaction hardening cement (CSC) and general cement (OPC), and the mechanical and carbonation characteristics were evaluated by controlling the primary curing temperature and secondary curing CO2 pressure. Under all curing conditions, it was observed that the higher the CSC ratio in the binder, the lower the mechanical properties. Specifically, a first curing temperature of 60 ℃ yielded higher mechanical properties compared to the case of 20 ℃, and a greater carbonation penetration depth was also observed. At a first curing temperature of 60 ℃, it was noted that the curing pressure and bending strength during the second CO2 curing were inversely proportional, while the compressive strength showed a proportional relationship. This phenomenon is believed to be due to excessive carbonation, which reduces mechanical properties, and the fact that flexural strength is more sensitive to these properties compared to compressive strength. However, based on the evaluation of the limited curing conditions, it is evident that future test conditions need to be expanded and reviewed more thoroughly.

Cu-Ti alloys with titanium in the range of 0.5-6.0 wt% were developed to evaluate the effect of the titanium content and heat treatment on microstructure, hardness, and electrical conductivity. The hardness of the Ti-added copper alloys generally increased with the increase in titanium content and hardening was effective up to the 2.5 wt%-Ti addition. Microstructural examination showed that the second phase of $Cu_4Ti$ started to precipitate out from the 3.0 wt% Ti-addition, and the precipitate size and volume fraction increased with further Ti addition. Aging of the present Cu-Ti alloys at $450^{\circ}C$ for 1 h increased the hardness; however, the further aging up to 10 h did not much change the hardness. In the present study, it was inferred that in optimal Ti addition and aging condition Cu-Ti alloy could have the hardness and electrical conductivity values which are comparable to those of commercial Cu-Be alloy.

For the improvement of fuel consumption, the study on the use of lightweight material or thinner sheet have been carried out in automotive industry. With the need for the use of thinner sheet, the dent resistance became one of the major concern in th design of exterior panels in automotive industry. Many studies have been carried out for the dent resistance by experiment or quasi-static numerical simulation. In this study, the dent formation behavior is investigated by dynamic finite element analysis using ABAQUS. Dent formation may be affected by many factors such as sheet thickness, material properties, pre-strain, and sheet curvature. The effect of these factors on dent resistance is investigated. From the analysis following three conclusions are derived. First, dent resistance become hard as the sheet curvature radius increases. Second, dynamic dent resistance is mainly affected by bending stress rather than tensile stress. Third, the pre-strain itself do not give any guidance for dynamic dent resistance and dynamic dent resistance have to be decided considering the strain hardening and thickness reduction together. The results are considered to be reliable and useful to improve the dent damage of automotive panels.
Appropriate thermo-mechanical properties of nickel-based superalloys are achieved by heat treatment, which induces precipitation and solid solution hardening; thus, information on the temperature ranges of precipitation and dissolution of the precipitates is essential for the determination of the heat treatment condition. In this study, thermal analyses of nickel-based superalloys were performed by differential scanning calorimetry method under conditions of various heating rates of 5, 10, 20, or 40K/min in a temperature range of 298~1573K. Precipitation and dissolution temperatures were determined by measuring peak temperatures, constructing trend lines, and extrapolating those lines to the zero heating rate to find the exact temperature under isothermal condition. Determined temperatures for the precipitation reactions were 813, 952, and 1062K. Determined onset, peak, and offset temperatures of the first dissolution reaction were 1302, 1388, and 1406K, respectively, and those values of the second dissolution reaction were 1405, 1414, and 1462K. Determined solvus temperature was 1462K. The study showed that it was possible to use a simple method to obtain accurate phase transition temperatures under isothermal condition.

This is the second of two companion papers that describe non-prismatic beam element for nonlinear seismic analysis of steel moment frames. Described in a companion paper is the formulation of a non-prismatic beam element to model the elastic and inelastic behavior of steel beams, which have reduced beam sections(RBS). This study describes the determination of yield surfaces, stiffness parameters, and hardening (or softening) rule parameters for RBS beam element. Analytical results of the RBS beam element show good correlation with test data and Finite Element Method(FEM) results.
The thermal problem of press work is classified into two cases. First, the temperature of forming die passively rises due to the heating effect of plastic deformation. The warm forming is the second case in which the external heating is applied to the die and blank holder. So, the purpose of this study is to provide database for the forming characteristics at various temperature conditions. In this study, the tensile test was carried out for the commercial steel sheets such as SCPI and SCP3C with the thickness of 0.7mm and 1.4mm respectively. The tensile strength, total elongation, Lankford value and the flow curve have been obtained at the temperature of $25^{\circ}C$, $50^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$, $150^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $300^{\circ}C$, respectively. From the results, we can see that both the tensile strength and total elongation decrease as the temperature increases. In the light of anisotropy, the effect of thickness is dominant than the material specs. For the temperature dependency of flow curves, there are only small differences for the work-hardening exponent, and the strength intensity decreases monotonically as temperature increases. The present results we useful as input data for the analysis of sheet metal forming processes with the various temperature conditions.
