This study purposed to provide a scientific base for understanding the effect of therapeutic intervention using motivation on chronic stroke patients' balance and determining whether it is applicable as a new therapeutic intervention. For this study, we sampled 38 chronic stroke patients, and divided them randomly into a motivation training group(n=20) and a control group(n=18). To the control group was applied neurological physiotherapy 5 times a week, and 30 minutes each time, and to the motivation training group was applied neurological physiotherapy and then, additionally, a Nintendo Wii-Fit program 3 times a week, and 30 minutes each time. Before and after the experiment, the subjects' dynamic balance was measured with functional reach test(FRT), timed up & go test(TUG), and 10m gait test, and their static balance was measured with the Romberger Test. When dynamic balance ability was compared between before and after the experiment and between the motivation training group and the control group, significant difference was observed in the results of FRT, TUG, and 10m walking test between before and after the intervention(p<.05). As to static balance, in addition, body balance movement distance was not significantly different. Therapeutic intervention using dynamic motivation was found to be more effective than the control group in improving dynamic balance.
This study was to investigate factors and disclose causal model of the scientific literacy competency about the motivation for science and the scientific literacy competency. The 3 grade university students and the 1 grade university students as pre-service elementary teachers were participated to questionnaire investigation. The data were analyzed by the factor analysis method and the structural equation model method, and the following results were obtained. First, the 3 grade university students and the 1 grade university students perceived the science interest factors and science usefulness factors as the motivation for science, and also revealed the scientific problem recognition factor and the scientific evidence use factor as the scientific literacy competency. Second, the science interest factor had a greater effect on the scientific problem recognition factor than the scientific evidence use factor in both the 3 grade and 1 grade university students. In the path from the science usefulness factor to the scientific problem recognition factor, the science usefulness factor of the 3 grade university students had a greater influence on the direct route to the scientific problem recognition factor than that of the 1 grade university students. In the path from the science usefulness factor to the scientific evidence use factor, the science usefulness factor of the 1 grade university students influenced more on the direct route to the scientific evidence use factor than that of the 3 grade university students.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of science class using multiple intelligence on science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill of elementary student. The number of participants were 98, 4 classes of $3^{rd}$ graders in G elementary school in B city. The experimental group, 2 classes including 49 participants, had science classes using multiple intelligence while the comparative group, 2 classes including 49 participants, took ordinary teacher-driven lessons using teacher's guidebook. Pre and post tests were done before and after executing lessons to assess the changing in each group's science learning motivation, academic achievement and science process skill. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, the pre and post test results of science learning motivation revealed that the experimental group had higher improvement compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Second, the post test results of the science academic achievement showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful. Third, the pre and post test results of basic science process skill showed that the experimental group had higher average value compared to the comparative group and the difference was meaningful, especially in inference and prediction elements.

The purpose of this study was to investigate a motivation system about science learning and interest in science among elementary, middle & high school students and analyze on the their relations. For this, the questionnaires on interest in science that developed by Kind et al., (2007) were selected and translated. After that, second-grade 80 students, fourth-grade 87 students, sixth-grade 107 students, eighth-grade 123 students and eleventh-grade 128 students were required to accomplish a questionnaire on behavioral inhibition system/behavioral activation system about science learning (SL-BIS/BAS), interest in science. Based on these materials, SL-BIS/BAS by student's variables and relations of between the system to interest in science have been analyzed. The result of this study shows the followings. First, the sensitivity about SL-BIS was no significant difference in School levels. But sensitivity about SL-BAS and interest in science in elementary and high school was higher than it in middle school. Second, there were low negative correlation with SL-BIS and interest in science, and relatively high positive correlation with SL-BAS and interest in science. Through the results of this study, relations of motivation to related variables, and the motivation by student's variables are identified. These results would be helpful for teachers to understand the difference about motivation by students' variables and to make a plan for the appropriate strategies for learners.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work motivation and leadership on job satisfaction and its implications on employee performance. A total of 355 samples of Bukit Asam Coal Mining Company Ltd. in Indonesia were selected proportionally with random sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires. Data analysis technique employed structural equation modeling (SEM) with AMOS 22. The results of the study show that leadership and work motivation have a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Leadership has a more considerable influence (0.263) than work motivation (0.171) toward employee job satisfaction. The influence of leadership towards job performance is 0.175. The influence of work motivation towards job performance is 0.166. Job satisfaction has the most dominant influence (0.363) towards employee performance. The direct effect of leadership on employee performance is 0.175 greater than the indirect influence of leadership on employee performance through employee job satisfaction, which is only 0.096. Likewise, the direct effect of work motivation towards employee performance is 0.166 greater than the indirect effect of work motivation towards employee performance through employee job satisfaction, which is only 0.062. Thus, job satisfaction does not mediate the effects of leadership and work motivation toward employee performance.
The motives of festival attendance have been used as a valuable marketing tool for promotion and understanding segment characteristics. This study attempted to segment the food festival market based on delineated motives and find the difference of characteristics and satisfaction among the segments. The study also explored the influence of motivation factors on satisfaction. The results are as follows : (1) Derived factors of the motivation of food festival attendance were 'food', 'information', 'education', 'cultural events', and 'experience'. (2) A cluster analysis identified two segments for five motivation factors. Two segments named 'utilitarian motivation group' and 'hedonic motivation group' were found to be different according to age, occupation, income, company, information source. (3) Two groups show the difference on satisfaction about festival programs. Utilitarian motivation group was more satisfied with 'holiday food performance' and 'food performance', whereas hedonic motivation group presented more satisfaction with 'cocktail show'. (4) Three(cultural events, food and information) out of five motivation factors had significant influence on satisfaction.
The study intended to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership and creativity of cooks with transformational leadership as antecedent variable. Transformational leadership has been assessed positively in variable studies as a leadership to improve employee's creativity. The authors also tried to explore structural relationships among transformational leadership, intrinsic motivation, and creativity by identifying the meditating role of intrinsic motivation in the relationship between transformational leadership and creativity of cooks. The study subject was CJ FOODVILLE, which is a representative company with its size, sales, and recognition as a domestic restaurant business. A survey was conducted with employees who were working as a cook in restaurants operated by CJ FOODVILLE in metropolitan areas. The results of the study showed that charisma and intellectual stimulation of transformational leadership positively influenced intrinsic motivation, but inspirational motivation and individualized consideration did not significantly influence intrinsic motivation. In addition, the four elements of transformational leadership did not significantly affect creativity. The findings of the study show that intrinsic motivation played a role as a mediation among charisma, intellectual stimulation, and creativity of transformational leadership. Therefore, the findings of the study suggested intrinsic motivation as an important factor affecting creativity of cooks.
Purpose: to develop an instrument to assess the rehabilitation motivation and to test its reliability and validity. Method: The data was collected with in-depth interviews of nine participants that include adults with disabilities acquired after they reached 18 years' of age. The development of the preliminary items was based on the theory of self-determination proposed by Deci & Ryan (1985) and the results from the analysis of the data. After these, appropriate specialists clarified the validity of the contents of the preliminary items twice. A test to reliability and validity was conducted with 186 disabled. A principal axis factor analysis with oblimin rotation was performed on 29 items. Result: Finally 27 items were selected. The 5-factor solution emerged as the most appropriate model for the data. The different types of motivation for rehabilitation were identified as: task-oriented motivation, change-oriented motivation, obligatory motivation, external motivation, and amotivation. The alpha coefficient of internal consistency was .85. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the instrument to measure motivation for the rehabilitation of the disabled may be a useful instrument with a high degree of reliability and validity.

This study explores the direct relationship between challenge and hindrance demands affecting autonomous extrinsic motivation and sales performance. In addition, we examine the mediating role of autonomous extrinsic motivation in the relationship between challenge demands, hindrance demands, and sales performance. This study explores the direct relationship between challenge and hindrance demands affecting autonomous extrinsic motivation and sales performance. In addition, we examine the mediating role of autonomous extrinsic motivation in the relationship between challenge demands, hindrance demands, and sales performance. This study proceeded in two phases comprising preliminary and prime research. First, preliminary quantitative research was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 125 observations to analyze the reliability of the scale and exploratory factor analysis to evaluate the measurements. The data collected from 431 real estate market employees shows that both challenge and hindrance demands positively and negatively affect sales performance through autonomous extrinsic motivation. Furthermore, challenge demands and hindrance demands affect positive and negative sales performance through autonomous extrinsic motivation, respectively. This study suggests that business organizations should design job demands to ensure that challenging work is suitable for employees' job positions. Thus, they will contribute to motivation and help employees achieve job performance.

The paper aims to examine the relationship between various types of motivation and satisfaction as well as turnover intentions of public university lecturers. Intrinsic motivation is found to affect both satisfaction and turnover, while for extrinsic motivation, only one type has a significant effect on satisfaction. The web-based questionnaire with convenience sampling was chosen to approach target respondents. Data was collected by sending a link of the questionnaire to the lecturers' email. There were 700 questionnaires collected. Of which 681 valid responses, after screening out unusual questionnaires. In order to fulfill these aims, the authors employed structural equation modeling with maximum likelihood method supported by AMOS software with 681 valid samples. The evidence confirms the high correlation between intrinsic motivation and satisfaction for university lecturers which has been shown in previous studies. With regard to extrinsic motivation, extrinsic regulation (material) is found to have a positive influence on satisfaction, meaning financial rewards and job security will lead to his contentment while introjected regulation is a source of dissatisfaction. The results also demonstrate that intrinsic motivation is negatively correlated with turnover intentions. A person who is interested in the job itself is less likely to leave his or her job due to a keen passion for it.
