The purposes of this study were to analyze the effects on scientific creativity of the Science Gifted Program, to survey recognition of gifted learners on the Program, and to obtain implications for the development direction of guidance program. The subjects of this study were 20 persons of the class for the gifted in an elementary school science, which belonged to Education Institute for the Gifted, Office of Education in Jeju city. The Science Gifted Program were applied during 28 times. The effects of the program were analyzed using the scientific creativity test, recognition questionnaire and interview of the Science Gifted Program. The results of this study were as follows. First, after applying Science Gifted Program, the scientific creativity of the gifted in science was enhanced. Especially, fluency was enhanced most remarkably. Second, after applying Science Gifted Program, students stated that they had the positive feeling about this program. The suggestions of results of recognition questionnaire of the Science Gifted Program were as follows. First, the Science Gifted Program must include experiment and research of subject. Second, it is necessary to guide concretely of the learning method before beginning of the Science Gifted Program. Third, it is necessary to control content level and quantity of the task for the student's easy comprehension.
The purpose of this study was to develop and apply an scientific inquiry program related to school science for elementary gifted students. And development of a program had been used a geological museum. A science inquiry program had developed after verifying a content validity to 3 science education experts about program's design and content selection, and then program applied to 20 elementary gifted students during 4 weeks, 14 hours. The results of this study showed that gifted students interested in an inquiry program using a geological museum, and they were in full activity. Especially gifted students replied that they lodged in their memory that inquired into activities on listening a docent's explanation about exhibits. Gifted classroom teacher also replied that gifted students saw a high level of participation and expectation. And they replied that this program supplied a chance that gifted students can understand a meaning of inquiry.

In this study, literatures concerning the scientifically gifted/talented were identified through exploration of ERIC(Education Research Information Center) and then categorized. Existing educational programs for the scientifically gifted/talented were analyzed to aid in development and progress of education program of the scientifically gifted/talented. The followings are the results of this study 1. Exploration of ERIC from 1981 to 1997 showed 150 documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and of those found there were 63 scientifically gifted/talented education program documents which accounts for 42.0%. 2. 42.0% of documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and 65.1% of education program for the scientifically gifted/talented were in the publication type of journal articles. 3. 60.0% of documents related to the scientifically gifted/talented and 68.3% of education program for the scientifically gifted/talented were in the type of paper of reports. 4. 71.4% of education programs for the gifted/talented was centered around scientifically gifted/talented students in middle or high school. 5. 52.4% of education programs for the scientifically gifted/talented was being carried out as an supplementary enrichment education program such as summer programs or short term projects. Education programs for the scientifically gifted/talented carried out as a regular class accounted for 38.1%. 6. Systems like Mentorship System and Internship System is being well carried out due to good interrelationships between universities and institutions. There were many programs encouraging majors and careers in science related fields. 7. Individualized education, which is effective in teaching the scientifically gifted/talented whose abilities, interests, and attitudes differ, is being well carried out.

The Gifted Education Program is re-constructured into core competency-based program in line with fourth industrial revolution, where talented people with comprehensive ability are required. Therefore, competency-based elementary science gifted education program which is provided from Gifted Education Database(GED) is developed in accordance with 2015 revised edition in science and 5 main core-abilities; scientific thinking ability, scientific investigation ability, scientific problem solving ability, scientific communication ability and scientific participation and lifelong learning ability. This research, which is provided from GED, is focused on earth science area among competency-based elementary science gifted education program and analyse quantitatively and qualitatively how science and core-ability is appeared in 3 programs developed in science area. This research can be another guideline when someone would like to use competency-based earth science gifted education program in gifted education. Also, the purpose of this research is to help suggesting a right direction for competency-based earth science gifted education program. The conclusion based on research problem is as follow; Firstly, in competency-based earth science gifted education program, influence rates of scientific communication ability and scientific thinking ability are highest, where influence rates of scientific investigation ability, scientific problem solving ability and scientific participation and lifelong learning ability are relatively low. Secondly, in competency-based earth science gifted education program, single activity may includes several core-abilities. Following research is quite meaningful in aspect of giving out the information to choose topic in core-ability when using competency-based earth science gifted education program in gifted education. Also by supplementing lowly-influenced ability in competency-based earth science gifted education program, it is expected for gifted students to build scientific core-ability.
This research defined professionality of science teacher from the perspective of PCK. An teaching strategy in the in-service teacher training for the gifted education was proposed based on the definition and implemented at an in-service teacher training program for the gifted education in order to explore about the teaching strategy and suggest practical implications that could improve the program. The in-service teacher training teaching strategy proposed in this research consists of three components: 'crafting activity materials', 'conducting inquiry-based experiment', 'developing rubric for identification of giftedness'. The survey carried out for the participants of the teacher training program showed that teachers perceived the importance of the need for the rubric for gifted identification, developing activity materials for the gifted education in science, and developing the rubric of gifted identification as properties for in-service teacher training programs fur the gifted education. However, the insufficiency of time and opportunities for being fully engaged in such a program made teachers feel lack of self-confidence in developing activity materials for the gifted education in science and rubric for gifted identification. Therefore, teacher training programs reflecting real features of the gifted education should be constantly developed and provided to enhance the effectiveness of in-service teacher training programs.
The purpose of this study was to develop and apply a differentiated instruction-learning reflecting various characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers, and thereby help to develop the study attitude and study achievement of the gifted underachievers. To achieve the purpose, a case study on five gifted underachievers who are in $6^{th}$ grade of elementary school was conducted. By collecting and analyzing a variety of data including standardized tests, interviews with teachers, students, and parents, and observation journals, this researcher examined the characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers. For the development of the program, differentiated strategies were designed according to students' interest and concern, their multiple-intelligence, and their learning styles. As a result of the application of them, a program with a total of 20 sections was finally developed. The result of the application for the differentiated instruction-learning program revealed improvements in their academic achievements. In addition, it was found that their learning motives were improved. The program was also found to affect their self-concept and their attitude toward learning. The study showed that developing an education program for the gifted underachievers should begin from the analysis of each student's characteristics. Also, it was found that a differentiation strategy could become an alternative to apply various characteristics and demands of the gifted underachievers to the development of a program. The gifted underachievers' intellectual and definitive characteristics were changed even by the short-term mediation. Therefore, the new issue about educating the gifted is to provide a differentiated instruction-learning program fitting their characteristics and demands and help them exert their potential as best as they could.
The purpose of this study is to devise a teaching and learning strategies of leadership for the gifted in science, to develop a leadership reinforcement program using the strategies, and to verify the effectiveness of the program. We designed teaching and learning strategies of leadership for the gifted in science as follows; to give a chance to exercise the essential elements of leadership life skills through science activities. The activities based on students' interest should stimulate reflective thinking and cooperation with each other. We found out that the teaching and learning program for leadership improvement for the gifted in science was effective, especially group management skill, communication skill, decision-making skill, human relations skill, and self-understanding skill.

We objectively analysis of teacher recommendation on selection process for scientifically gifted program, by having conducted the test of scientific attitude, process skill, logical thinking, creative problem-solving ability and creativity of the students who were enrolled in science gifted-education programs, students who were recommended by science teachers as talented in science and students of ordinary classes. In result, both gifted program students and teacher-recommended students scored much higher than ordinary class students in all test fields, but there was no meaningful difference between the gifted-program students and teacher-recommended students. This result signifies that teacher recommendation is a valuable tool for selecting students for a science gifted-education program.

The purpose of this research is to propose a program for teaching and learning effective problem-solving for gifted students based on abductive inference. The role of abductive inference is important for scientific discoveries and creative inferences in problem-solving processes. The characteristics of creativity and abductive inference were investigated, and the following were discussed: (a) a suggestion for a new program based on abductive inference for creative outcomes, this program largely consists of two phases: generative hypotheses and confirmative hypotheses, (b) a survey of the validity of a program. It is typical that hypotheses are confirmed in phases through experiments based on hypothetic deductive methodology. However, because generative hypotheses of this hypothetic deductive methodology are not manifest, we maintained that abductive inference strategies must be used in a Creative Teaching-learning Program for gifted science students.

The purpose of this study was to investigate science gifted education recipients' perception through importance-performance analysis regarding gifted education program, and explore reinforcements and improvements for providing an education program to meet the needs of science gifted. For this study, we developed an questionnaire and conducted a survey of 288 university students who had experience of receiving science gifted education. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS 20.0 in order to analyze difference between importance and performance which recipients perceived, paired t-test was conducted. Moreover, to investigate improvements for education program, Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) was conducted. We deduced the following from the analysis. The performance is in general lower than the importance which recipients perceived regarding experienced education program. There was a differential needs in the type of education program depending on the school level. In other words, they were perceived 'education based on experiences' as effective education program for elementary school students; 'education based on inquiry activities' for middle school students; and 'education based on research activities 'for high school students. But, career education and leadership program was included in domain of urgent improvement regardless to the school level. This study has different signification from previous research in that was analyzed gifted education program considering the splashdown effect.
