Source parameters for forty four earthquakes which occurred in and around the Korean Peninsula were determined and the relations between them were studied. Snoke's method (Snoke, 1987) was applied in determining the corner frequencies and seismic moments. In general, the source parameters estimated at different stations for an earthquake show different values. These disagreements have been interpreted as originating, in principle, from an inadequate consideration of the source radiation pattern and direction dependent attenuation and amplification. The comer frequencies and seismic moments were averaged to exclude the such directional effects. Other source parameters were estimated from the mean corner frequency and seismic moment. The static stress drops, determined in this study, tend to be independent of seismic moment for events greater than a specific magnitude. For earthquakes with a size less than about $1.0{\times}10^{22}$ dyne-cm (nearly same as $M_L = 4.0$), the stress drop tends to decrease with the decreasing moment. This fact suggests a breakdown of the scaling law of source parameters in earthquakes below the threshold magnitude.

In this paper, we explore the electrical properties and high-frequency performance of carbon nanotube field-effect transistors (CNTFETs), based on the non-equilibrium Green's functions (NEGF) solved self - consistently with Poisson's equations. The calculated results show that CNTFETs exhibit superior performance compared with graphene nanoribbon field-effect transistors (GNRFETs), such as better control ability of the gate on the channel, higher drive current with lower subthreshold leakage current, and lower subthreshold-swing (SS). Due to larger band-structure-limited velocity in CNTFETs, ballistic CNTFETs present better high-frequency performance limit than that of Si MOSFETs. The parameter effects of CNTFETs are also investigated. In addition, to enhance the immunity against short - channel effects (SCE), hetero - material - gate CNTFETs (HMG-CNTFETs) have been proposed, and we present a detailed numerical simulation to analyze the performances of scaling down, and conclude that HMG-CNTFETs can meet the ITRS'10 requirements better than CNTs.

Strength is not simply a single given value but rather is a statistical one with certain distribution functions. This is because it is affected by many unknown factors such as size, shape, stress distribution, and combined stresses. In this study, a model of loss probability is proposed in view of the fact that one of the fundamental configuration of nature is hexagonal, for example, the shapes of lattice unit, grain, and so on. The model sues the concept of loss of certain element in place of Jayatilaka-Trustrum's length and angle of cracks. Using this model, the loss probability due to each loss of certain elements is obtained. Then, the maximum principal stress is calculated by the finite element method at the centroid of the elements under the tensile load for the 4,095 models of analysis. Finally, the failure probability of the brittle materials is obtained by multiplying the loss probability by the ratio of the maximum principal stress to theoretical tensile strength. Comparison of the result of the Jayatilaka-Trustrum's model and the proposed model shows that the failure probabilities by the two methods are in good agreement. Further, it is shown that the parametric relationship of semi-crack lengths for various degrees of birittleness can be determined. Therefore, the analysis of the failure probability suing the proposed model is shown to be promising as a new method for the study of the failure probability of birttle materials.

The Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) has been widely used in a lot of applications for image feature matching. Such a transform allows us to strong matching ability, stability in rotation, and scaling with the variety of different scales. Recently, it has been made one of the most successful algorithms in the research areas of copy-move forgery detections. Though this transform is capable of identifying copy-move forgery, it does not widely address the possibility that counter-forensics operations may be designed and used to hide the evidence of image tampering. In this paper, we propose a targeted counter-forensics method for impeding SIFT-based copy-move forgery detection by applying a semantically admissible distortion in the processing tool. The proposed method allows the attacker to delude a similarity matching process and conceal the traces left by a modification of SIFT keypoints, while maintaining a high fidelity between the processed images and original ones under the semantic constraints. The efficiency of the proposed method is supported by several experiments on the test images with various parameter settings.

This paper describes a core generator (FCore_Gen) which generates Verilog-HDL models of 640 different FFT/IFFT cores with selected parameter value for OFDM-based communication systems. The generated FFT/IFFT cores are based on in-place single memory architecture and use a hybrid structure of radix-4 and radix-2 DIF algorithm to accommodate various FFT lengths. To achieve both memory reduction and the improved SQNR, a conditional scaling technique is adopted, which conditionally scales the intermediate results of each computational stage. The cores synthesized with a $0.35-{\mu}m$ CMOS standard cell library can operate with 75-MHz@3.3-V, and a 8,192-point FFT can be computed m $762.7-{\mu}s$, thus the cores satisfy the specifications of wireless LAN, DMB, and DVB systems.
In order to quantify the flow distribution characteristics of APR+ reactor, a test was performed on a test facility, ACOP ($\underline{A}$PR+ $\underline{C}$ore Flow & $\underline{P}$ressure Test Facility), having a length scale of 1/5 referring to the prototype plant. The major parameters are core inlet flow and outlet pressure distribution and sectional pressure drops along the major flow path inside reactor vessel. To preserve the flow characteristics of prototype plant, the test facility was designed based on a preservation of major flow path geometry. An Euler number is considered as primary dimensionless parameter, which is conserved with a 1/40.9 of Reynolds number scaling ratio. ACOP simplifies each fuel assembly into a hydraulic simulator having the same axial flow resistance and lateral cross flow characteristics. In order to supply boundary condition to estimate thermal margins of the reactor, the distribution of inlet core flow and core exit pressure were measured in each of 257 fuel assembly simulators. In total, 584 points of static pressure and differential pressures were measured with a limited number of differential pressure transmitters by developing a sequential operation system of valves. In the current study, reactor flow characteristics under the balanced four-cold leg flow conditions at each of the cold legs were quantified, which is a part of the test matrix composing the APR+ flow distribution test program. The final identification of the reactor flow distribution was obtained by ensemble averaging 15 independent test data. The details of the design of the test facility, experiment, and data analysis are included in the current paper.

Background and Objectives : Artecoll(R) is an injectable soft tissue filler, which is a suspension of polymethylmethacrylate microspheres in $3.5\%$ bovine collagen solution. The authors aimed to determine the clinical of Artecoll of Artecoll(R) as an injection material into the vocal fold to correct the glottal insufficiency caused by unilateral vocal cord paralysis. Materials and Methods : Forty-one consecutive patients with unilateral vocal cord paralysis received percutaneous Artecoll injections under local anesthesia. Acoustic, aerodynamic and stroboscopic analyses were prospectively provided before, 1 week and 3 months after injection. Perceptual GRBAS grading by speech language pathologists and subjective ratings of the hoarseness and aspiration by the patients were also obtained. Results : Aerodynamic parameter(maximal phonation time) were significantly improved after the injection (p<0.05). Acoustic parameters (jitter and shimmer) were improved at the 3rd month follow-up. GRBAS uading and patients own subjective scaling of hoarseness and aspiration also showed significant improvement (p<0.05). Early or delayed significant side effects were not observed. Conclusion : Vocal fold injection with Artecoll is a convenient, safe and useful method of temporarily correcting the glottal insufficiency. Further long-term follow-up studies will answer the usefulness and safety of the Artecoll injection laryngoplasty.

An experimental work was conducted to investigate the characteristics of the onset of flooding in vertical annuli with a direct injection mode using air and water. The onset of flooding was determined by means of pressure drop measurement while the air velocity was increased gradually under fixed liquid flow rates. Data of the onset of flooding were collected for various combinations of the tube size and the nozzle number. A theoretical analysis of the onset of flooding was also performed based on an envelope theory. The result shows that the onset of flooding in small-scale annuli can be predicted relatively well by the theory. A modified Wallis parameter was used to investigate the scaling effect of flooding phenomena in the annuli, indicating a relatively reasonable result. The number of nozzle has no effect on the flooding velocity when liquid was injected through 2, 3, 4 and 6 nozzles but the initiation of flooding was significantly expedited when 12 nozzles were employed for liquid injection.

Further scaling the semiconductor devices down to low dozens of nanometer needs the extremely shallow depth in junction and the intentional counter-doping in the silicon gate. Conventional ion beam ion implantation has some disadvantages and limitations for the future applications. In order to solve them, therefore, plasma source ion implantation technique has been considered as a promising new method for the high throughputs at low energy and the fabrication of the ultra-shallow junctions. In this paper, we study about the effects of DC bias and base pressure as a process parameter. The diluted mixture gas (5% $PH_3/H_2$) was used as a precursor source and chamber is used for vacuum pressure conditions. After ion doping into the Si wafer(100), the samples were annealed via rapid thermal annealing, of which annealed temperature ranges above the $950^{\circ}C$. The junction depth, calculated at dose level of $1{\times}10^{18}/cm^3$, was measured by secondary ion mass spectroscopy(SIMS) and sheet resistance by contact and non-contact mode. Surface morphology of samples was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. As a result, we could accomplish the process conditions better than in advance.
Objective: The objectives of the study were to evaluate reproductive performance and selection response through genetic trend of community-based breeding programs (CBBPs) of Bonga sheep. Methods: Reproduction traits data were collected between 2012 and 2018 from Bonga sheep CBBPs. Phenotypic performance was analyzed using the general linear model procedures of Statistical Analysis System. Genetic parameters were estimated by univariate animal model for age at first lambing (AFL) and repeatability models for lambing interval (LI), litter size (LS), and annual reproductive rate (ARR) traits using restricted maximum likelihood method of WOMBAT. For correlations bivariate animal model was used. Best model was chosen based on likelihood ratio test. The genetic trends were estimated by the weighted regression of the average breeding value of the animals on the year of birth/lambing. Results: The overall least squares mean±standard error of AFL, LI, LS, and ARR were 375±12.5, 284±9.9, 1.45±0.010, and 2.31±0.050, respectively. Direct heritability estimates for AFL, LI, LS, and ARR were 0.07±0.190, 0.06±0.120, 0.18±0.070, and 0.25±0.203, respectively. The low heritability for both AFL and LI showed that these traits respond little to selection programs but rather highly depend on animal management options. The annual genetic gains were -0.0281 days, -0.016 days, -0.0002 lambs and 0.0003 lambs for AFL, LI, LS, and ARR, respectively. Conclusion: Implications of the result to future improvement programs were improving management of animals, conservation of prolific flocks and out scaling the CBBP to get better results.
