This study investigated the relations among children's strategies in peer conflict situations, social behavior and children's peer acceptance. Eighty-seven kindergarteners were asked about their strategies in response to 8 hypothetical peer conflict situations. Classroom teachers completed the social behavior rating scale to evaluate children's behavioral characteristics. Children's peer acceptance was measured by peer acceptance rating scale. Results indicated that children's strategies for responding to peer conflicts and their social behavior correlated with peer acceptance, although the linkages were different for boys and girls. Furthermore, children's strategies correlated with their social behavior.

This study investigated the antidepressant efficacy and it's impact on the quality of life of depressed patients. We performed Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HDRS), and Montgomery-Asberg Depression Rating Scale(MADRS), and Health-related Quality of Life Questionnaire(HQLQ) to both tricyclic antidepressant(TCA) and sertraline groups. There were 16 subjects in this study. The tricyclic group had 9 subjects and the sertraline group had 7. The TCA and sertraline produced a similar degree of response. Both groups experienced a reduction of 70% or more in mean HDRS and MADRS total score after 6wks. In HQLQ, the TCAs group also showed improved bed disability days, alertness behavior, and social interaction, the sertraline group showed improved health perception, alertness behavior, home management, and social interaction. We suggested that the improvement of "Quality of life" were not in proportion to the clinical symptom's improvement. Therefore, clinicians should consider the benefit of antidepressant treatment in terms of quality of life.

Attention Deficif and Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) is a behavioral disoerder characterized by inattentiveness, impulsivity and hyperactivity, This is the case of a ADHD child treated with Neurofeedback therapy. ADHD Diagnotic System(ADS), Conner;s parent rating scale, ADHD-Rating Scale (ARS), Korean Child Behavior Checklist(K-CBCL) were compared between before and after Neurofeedback theraphy. And the EEG(Theta wave, SMR wave and Beta wave) data of each ession was analysed. As a result, Neurofeedback therapy is efficient in the treatment of ADHD.

After the industrial revolution, we have changed whole life-styles. This trend has brought a change in our eating style. Nowadays, the great number of people go out to eat-even three meals a day. As a result, the growth rate of food service industry increases day by day. Some restaurants are managed by the large scale company and others by the small scale ownership. Though developed countries are in the maturity step of the product life cycle in this field, we are in the growth step. We will hold the in 2002. A lot of tourists and the press will rush to Korea. They must have their meals at the restuarant. Therefore, we need more practice to satisfy them and to lead to successful management in this field. Also, we need an evaluation to qualify each business so that our food service industry does not decline compared to other country's. This study is trying to find how to evaluate and qualify each business in the various areas: service, the quality of food, the mood of the restaurant and so on. In addition, it includes the restaurant rating form.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the effect of Daehamhyung-tang(DHHT) on tinnitus with panic disorder from the disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions. Methods : According to a disease pattern identification diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, the patient was diagnosed with 'Taeyang-byung Gyeolhyung'. He took DHHT for 82 days. This paper evaluated the results of treatment on tinnitus by Tinnitus Handicap Inventory(THI) and Verbal Numercial Rating Scale(VNRS). To assess the mental state of anxiety, this paper used Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale(HAM-A) Results : The THI score was declined from 58 to 6 And the VNRS score was declined from 6 to 1. HAM-A score was declined from 28 to 3. Conclusions : This case study suggests that DHHT has effectiveness on a patient suffers from tinnitus with panic disorder and diagnosed with 'Taeyang-byung Gyeolhyung'.

Objectives : A case of cervical dystonia improved after Korean medical treatments by using measurements of Toronto Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale (TWSTRS), and Cervical Dystonia Impact Profile (CDIP-58) to evaluate the changes of symptoms. Methods : Korean medical treatments for relieving symptoms of cervical dystonia including acupuncture, herb medication, cupping therapy, and physical therapy were performed. To evaluate the effect of the treatments, TWSTRS and CDIP-58 were used. Results : TWSTRS decreased from 55 to 24.5 and CDIP-58 also decreased from 79.3 to 36.2. Conclusions : This report suggests that Korean medical treatments can be effectively used for patients with cervical dystonia. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.

This study examined the conditions and administration of 548 private, social welfare, and elementary school-based facilities providing after-school child care. The School-Age Care Environment Rating Scale developed by authors was administered to the teachers of these facilities. The rating scale consists of 84 items in 9 sub-areas. Seven point ratings were obtained for each item. One-way ANOVA confirmed differences between all items at the (p<.001) except for supplementary special needs items. The private facilities had the best environment for after-school child care except for staff development. The social welfare facilities showed good evaluation in staff-child interactions, activities, staff development and administration. The elementary schools obtained low evaluations except for supplementary special needs items. The evaluation of social welfare facilities was highest in Seoul and private child care facilities were highest in other areas.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine internet addiction, self-esteem and loneliness in adolescents. Method: Subjects were middle and high school students in Daegu (N=486). Self-rating questionnaire included demographic data, the Korean version of Young internet addiction scale, self-rating self-esteem and loneliness scale. We have received the consent from teachers and students. Results: Among the subjects, 34% was addicted and internet addiction was significantly different according to gender, record at school, economic status, attitude of mother, father, teacher and friend about internet. There were significant differences in self-esteem and loneliness according to internet addiction. Internet addiction, self-esteem and loneliness were related to each other. Conclusion: These results indicate that internet addiction would be changed according to gender, record at school, economic status, attitude of mother, father, teacher and friend about internet. Therefore, further studies are needed to generalize these results and examine widely the related variables of internet addiction.

Objectives: This study reports the effects of GeonChil (Rhus verniciflua stokes) pharmacopuncture in patients with dyspepsia. Method: We treated all five patients with GeonChil pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, and moxibustion and evaluated them using the Korean Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale (KGSRS), which is used to assess overall gastrointestinal symptoms. Result: After treatment, the KGSRS showed improvement in all five patients. Marked improvement was seen especially in abdominal pain, heartburn, eructation, and increased flatus symptoms. Conclusion: GeonChil pharmacopuncture may represent a new treatment for the improvement of dyspepsia.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Gamiguibi-hwan on Climacteric Syndrome. Method: We treated 50 cases menopausal disorder patients with Gamiguibi-hwan for 12 weeks. We estimated the effects by Menopause Rating Scale (MRS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Beck's Depression Inventory II (BDI-II). Results: After treatment, the mean of MRS, PSQI and BDI-II score were decreased. Conclusions: This case shows that Gamiguibi-hwan is effective in treating menopausal disorder patients.
