로버스트 회귀추정에 의한 신뢰구간 구축 (On Confidence Intervals of Robust Regression Estimators)

  • 대부분의 자료는 여러가지 원인으로 인한 특이치로 오염되어 있으며, 이러한 상황에서 신뢰성 있는 추정량을 얻어내고 이에 대한 통계적 추론을 시행하는 것은 중요한 문제이다. 그러나 이제까지 제안된 로버스트 회귀추정량들은 계산상의 어려움과 정규오차모형에서 최소제곱추정량에 비하여 떨어지는 효율성때문에 통계적 추론의 정확성을 확신할 수 없었다. 최근 제안된 Lee(2004)의 가중자기조율회귀추정량(weighted self-tuning estimator, WSTE)은 다른 로버스트 회귀추정량에 비하여 정확한 계산과정과 그에 따른 추정량의 점근적 정규성 및 고붕괴점을 갖는다. 그러나 통계적 추론을 위하여 이제까지 널리 사용해왔던 로버스트 추정량에 기반한 가중최소제곱추정방법(weighted least squares estimator)은 WSTE에서조차 정규오차모형하에서 최소제곱추정량과 동일한 수준의 효율성을 제공해주지 는 못한다. 본 논문에서는 WSTE에 기반한 또다른 통계적 추론 방법을 제안하고, 이 방법을 사용함으로써 정규오차모형 및 대표본에서 보다 정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 몬테칼로 모의실험을 통해 제시하였다.

Investigation of Vanadium-based Thin Interlayer for Cu Diffusion Barrier

  • Recently, scaling down of ULSI (Ultra Large Scale Integration) circuit of CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) based electronic devices become much faster speed and smaller size than ever before. However, very narrow interconnect line width causes some drawbacks. For example, deposition of conformal and thin barrier is not easy moreover metallization process needs deposition of diffusion barrier and glue layer. Therefore, there is not enough space for copper filling process. In order to overcome these negative effects, simple process of copper metallization is required. In this research, Cu-V thin alloy film was formed by using RF magnetron sputter deposition system. Cu-V alloy film was deposited on the plane $SiO_2$/Si bi-layer substrate with smooth and uniform surface. Cu-V film thickness was about 50 nm. Cu-V layer was deposited at RT, 100, 150, 200, and $250^{\circ}C$. XRD, AFM, Hall measurement system, and XPS were used to analyze Cu-V thin film. For the barrier formation, Cu-V film was annealed at 200, 300, 400, 500, and $600^{\circ}C$ (1 hour). As a result, V-based thin interlayer between Cu-V film and $SiO_2$ dielectric layer was formed by itself with annealing. Thin interlayer was confirmed by TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope) analysis. Barrier thermal stability was tested with I-V (for measuring leakage current) and XRD analysis after 300, 400, 500, 600, and $700^{\circ}C$ (12 hour) annealing. With this research, over $500^{\circ}C$ annealed barrier has large leakage current. However V-based diffusion barrier annealed at $400^{\circ}C$ has good thermal stability. Thus, thermal stability of vanadium-based thin interlayer as diffusion barrier is good for copper interconnection.

전투기 외부 연료 탱크의 종방향 정안정성 및 투하 궤적 해석 (Analysis of the Longitudinal Static Stability and the Drop Trajectory of a Fighter Aircraft's External Fuel Tank)

  • 본 논문에서는 원 형상에 비해 20% 축소 설계된 수평 핀을 부착한 전투기의 외부 연료 탱크의 정적인 세로 안정성을 해석하고 투하궤적을 분석하였다. 얇은 에어포일의 공력 자료를 이용하여 연료 탱크의 정적 피칭 안정성을 해석한 결과는 풍동 실험 결과와 거의 일치하였다. 연료탱크의 6자유도 운동방정식에 대한 수치적인 모사에서 얻은 낙하 궤적을 실제 모델의 투하 실험 궤적과 비교 분석한 결과 투하 시 항공기의 자세가 연료 탱크의 수직 이동 궤적에는 영향을 미치지 않지만 수평 이동 궤적에는 상당한 영향을 미치게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 이론 해석 및 실험 결과의 분석을 통해 재설계 핀을 부착한 외부 연료 탱크를 비행 중 항공기로 부터 분리할 때 비행운용 규범을 기준으로 수행한다면 항공기의 안전성을 보장할 수 있음이 검증되었다.

협응이동훈련과 슬링운동 결합 프로그램이 무릎넙다리통증 환자의 무릎통증 및 기능적 움직임에 미치는 영향: 단일사례 연구 (Effect of CLT and Sling Exercise Combined Program on Knee Pain in Patellofemoral Pain Patient: A Single-Subject Study)

  • Background: Patellofemoral pain is one of the common diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Many previous studies have recommended the application of exercise therapy to patellofemoral pain patients for treatment. The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of coordinative locomotor training (CLT) and sling exercise combined program on knee pain and functional movement in patellofemoral pain patient. Methods: In this study, single-subject design (A-B-A') was conducted for 6 weeks. A repeted-measure analysis was conducted to assess results of the anterior knee pain scale (AKPS), Clarke's test (CT), eccentric step down test (ESDT). During the intervention (B), the CLT and sling exercise combined program was conducted three times a week for 4 weeks. Results: From baseline period A to intervention period B, the AKPS, CT, ESDT were improved from 61 to 48 (27%), from 8.33 to 3 (64%), from 7.67 to 3,58 (53%). From baseline period A to baseline period A', the AKPS, CT, ESDT were improved from 70.67 to 48 (47%), from 0.67 to 3 (92%), from 1.33 to 3,58 (83%). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, we recommend the application of CLT and sling exercise combined program to improve the pain and functional movement in patellofemoral pain patients.

Effect of Root Extracts of Medicinal Herb Glycyrrhiza glabra on HSP90 Gene Expression and Apoptosis in the HT-29 Colon Cancer Cell Line

  • Colorectal cancer is one of the most common lethal cancer types worldwide. In recent years, widespread and large-scale studies have been done on medicinal plants for anti-cancer effects, including Glycyrrhiza glabra. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of an ethanol extract Glycyrrhiza glabra on the expression of HSP90, growth and apoptosis in the HT-29 colon cancer cell line. HT-29 cells were treated with different concentrations of extract (50,100,150, and $200{\mu}g/ml$). For evaluation of cell proliferation and apoptosis, we used MTT assay and flow cytometry technique, respectively. RT-PCR was also carried out to evaluate the expression levels of HSP90 genes. Results showed that Glycyrrhiza glabra inhibited proliferation of the HT-29 cell line at a concentration of $200{\mu}g/ml$ and this was confirmed by the highest rate of cell death as measured by trypan blue and MTT assays. RT-PCR results showed down-regulation of HSP90 gene expression which implied an ability of Glycyrrhiza glabra to induce apoptosis in HT-29 cells and confirmed its anticancer property. Further studies are required to evaluate effects of the extract on other genes and also it is necessary to make an extensive in vivo biological evaluation and subsequently proceed with clinical evaluations.

모형 가스터빈 연소기의 기초 연소특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Combustion Characteristics in a Model Gas Turbine Combustor)

  • 본 연구는 GE 7FA+e DLN 2.6 가스터빈 연소기를 축소 제작한 모형 가스터빈 연소기의 연소 동특성 및 연소불안정 현상을 알아보고 위해 진행되었다. 모형 연소기에 사용된 연료노즐은 1/3 크기로 상사하여 제작되었으며, 실제 연료노즐과 동일한 2단 스월러(swirl vane)를 가지고 있다. Plenum과 연소기의 형상은 실 가스터빈과 유사한 음향학적 특성을 가질수 있도록 설계되었다. 실험은 공기온도 $200{\sim}400^{\circ}C$, 대기압, 노즐출구 속도 $30{\sim}75\;m/s$, 당량비 $0.4{\sim}1.2$, 연소실 길이 $375{\sim}700\;mm$,에서 이루어졌으며, 그 결과 소염영역 근처의 저 당량비 영역과 당량비 1.1 이상인 연료 과농 상태에서 연소 불안정 현상이 관찰 되었다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 실제로 서인천 발전본부에서 운용하고 있는 GE 7FA+e DLN 2.6 가스터빈 연소기의 연소특성과 배기배출물에 대한 제어 연구를 소개하고 모형 가스터빈 연소기의 연소동특성 및 연소불안정 현상을 확인하고자 한다. 모형 연료노즐은 실제의 1/3 크기로 상사하여 제작되었고, 실제 노즐과 동일한 각도의 2단 스월러(swirl vane)를 가지고 있다. Plenum과 연소기의 형상은 실 가스터빈과 유사한 음향학적 특성을 가질 수 있도록 설계되었고 실험은 공기온도, 노즐출구 속도, 당량비, 연소실 길이를 변수로 이루어졌으며, 그 결과 연소실의 연소불안정 mode는 각각의 실험 변수에 따라서 연소실의 공진주파수의 영향, 연소온도와 공기-연료 혼합기 분포에 의해서 mode가 전이되는 현상을 확인하였다.

진구성 만성 아킬레스 건 파열의 수술적 치료의 결과 (Surgical Outcome of Reconstruction of Neglected Chronic Achilles Tendon Ruptures)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to report the surgical outcome of reconstruction of neglected chronic Achilles tendon ruptures with various methods including Achilles tendon allograft. Materials and Methods: Between October 2003 and November 2008, 8 consecutive neglected chronic Achilles tendon ruptures with the defect gap of more than 4 cm underwent surgical reconstruction including V-Y advancement, gastrocnemius fascial turn-down flap, flexor hallucis longus transfer and Achilles tendon allograft. There were 7 males and 1 female who were evaluated at more than 18 months after surgery. At the time of followup, all patients were assessed with regard to postoperative complications, their self-reported level of satisfaction, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Ankle-Hindfoot scale, 10 repetitive single heel rise, single leg hopping test, and ankle range of motion. Results: The AOFAS score increased from average 71.4 (50-87) to 96.4 (86-100). All patients were able to perform 10-repetitive single heel raise and single leg hopping at the latest follow up. No patient experienced wound complications and deep infection. Six patients were rated as 'excellent' and the other two as 'good'. Conclusion: Neglected chronic Achilles tendon ruptures could be successfully treated with careful selection of the reconstruction method according to the amount of defect gap. With an extensive defect, Achilles tendon allograft can be a good option when the reconstruction is not feasible otherwise.

Geographic information system analysis on the distribution of patients visiting the periodontology department at a dental college hospital

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to analyze and visualize the distribution of patients visiting the periodontology department at a dental college hospital, using a geographic information system (GIS) to utilize these data in patient care and treatment planning, which may help to assess the risk and prevent periodontal diseases. Methods: Basic patient information data were obtained from Dankook University Dental Hospital, including the unit number, gender, date of birth, and address, down to the dong (neighborhood) administrative district unit, of 306,656 patients who visited the hospital between 2007 and 2014. The data of only 26,457 patients who visited the periodontology department were included in this analysis. The patient distribution was visualized using GIS. Statistical analyses including multiple regression, logistic regression, and geographically weighted regression were performed using SAS 9.3 and ArcGIS 10.1. Five factors, namely proximity, accessibility, age, gender, and socioeconomic status, were investigated as the explanatory variables of the patient distribution. Results: The visualized patient data showed a nationwide scale of the patient distribution. The mean distance from each patient's regional center to the hospital was $30.94{\pm}29.62km$ and was inversely proportional to the number of patients from the respective regions. The distance from a regional center to the adjacent toll gate had various effects depending on the local distance from the hospital. The average age of the patients was $52.41{\pm}12.97years$. Further, a majority of regions showed a male dominance. Personal income had inconsistent results between analyses. Conclusions: The distribution of patients is significantly affected by the proximity, accessibility, age, gender and socioeconomic status of patients, and the patients visiting the periodontology department travelled farther distances than those visiting the other departments. The underlying reason for this needs to be analyzed further.

Removal and Inactivation of Hepatitis A Virus during Manufacture of Urokinase from Human Urine

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine the efficacy and mechanism of the PAB (para-amino benzamidine) affinity column chromatography, Viresolve NFP virus filtration, pasteurization (60$\^{C}$ heat treatment for 10 h), and lyophilization steps employed in the manufacture of urokinase from human urine as regards the removal and/or inactivation of the hepatitis A virus (HAV). Samples from the relevant stages of the production process were spiked with HAV and subjected to scale-down processes mimicking the manufacture of urokinase Samples were collected at each step, immediately titrated using a 50% tissue culture infectious dose (TCID$\_$50/), and the virus reduction factors evaluated. PAB chromatography was found to be an effective step for removing HAV with a log reduction factor of 3.24. HAV infectivity was rarely detected in the urokinase fraction, while most of the HAV infectivity was recovered in the unbound and wash fractions. HAV was completely removed during the Viresolve NFP filtration with a log reduction factor of $\geq$ 4.60. Pasteurization was also found to be an effective step in inactivating HAV where the titers were reduced from an initial titer of 7.18 log$\_$10/ TCID$\_$50/ to undetectable levels within 10 h of treatment. The log reduction factor achieved during pasteurization was $\geq$ 4.76. Lyophilization revealed the lowest efficacy for inactivating HAV with a log reduction factor of 1.48. The cumulative log reduction factor was $\geq$ 14.08. Accordingly, these results indicate that the production process for urokinase exhibited a sufficient HAV reducing capacity to achieve a high margin of virus safety.
