하수처리장의 효율적인 Blower Control Logic 개발을 위한 유입수질 기반 공기공급량 적용 연구 (Application of the Proper Air Supply Amount Based on the Influent Water Quality for the Development of Efficient Blower Control Logic in Sewage Treatment Plants)

  • 하수처리장의 방류수 수질기준이 강화되고 있으며, 이에 따라 하수처리장 시설도 고도화되고 있다. 또한 하수처리장의 방류수질은 높은 수준으로 유지되어야 하며, 이에 따라 효율적인 하수처리장 운영이 매우 중요한 이슈로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 하수처리장의 Blower Control Loigc 개발을 위해, 하수도 시설기준의 기본 송풍량 산정 방식을 기반으로 유입수질에 따른 필요 산소량 및 송풍량을 산정하였다. 본 연구를 통해 A 하수처리장의 실제 4월 수질 데이터를 적용하여 송풍량을 산정한 결과, 평균적으로 약 12 %의 송풍량이 절감이 될 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 산정한 결과에 따라 Blower Control Logic을 개발하여 실제 하수처리장에 적용하게 된다면, 유입수질을 기반으로 송풍량 제어가 가능함에 따라 운전자의 경험에 의존하고 있는 기존의 하수처리 운영방식에서 벗어나 하수처리장 자율제어가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 송풍량 및 전력비 절감이 이루어진 효율적인 하수처리장 운영을 기대 할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 불필요한 에너지 및 탄소 절감에 기여할 수 있을 것이라고 판단된다.

지능형 전력망(스마트 그리드) 적용을 통한 에너지 절감 및 CO2 감축 효과 분석 (Analysis of Energy Savings and CO2 Emission Reductions via Application of Smart Grid System)

  • 본 논문에서는 국내 환경에서 설정된 가정 하에 지능형 전력망 기술이 지능형 송배전, 소비자, 전력서비스, 신재생 에너지 및 운송 등의 5가지 분야에 적용될 경우 2030년까지의 연도별 국내 에너지 절감 및 $CO_2$ 감축 효과와 그 상대적 기여도를 예측, 분석하였다. 2030년 지능형 전력망 운용에 따른 총 에너지 절감량은 103,121 GWh로 계산되며 이는 당해 소비전력량 전망치의 약 13.1%로 2025년 이후 이 비율은 약 10% 이상으로 유지될 것으로 예측되었다. 이를 토대로 계산된 2030년 $CO_2$ 배출 감축량은 5,538만 $tCO_2$로 계산되었고 이는 당해 온실가스 감축 목표량인 3억 1,500만 $tCO_2$에 17.6%에 해당하는 값이다. 이러한 $CO_2$ 배출 감축량은 에너지 절감량과는 다르게 해가 거듭될수록 전체 배출 감축량에 대한 그 비율이 감소하는데 이는 향후 온실가스 배출량의 대부분을 차지하는 석탄화력 발전량의 지속적인 증가와 국가의 목표 배출 감축 속도가 매우 빠르게 설정되었기 때문으로 판단된다. 2030년 5가지 각 분야에서의 에너지 절감 및 $CO_2$ 배출 감축 기여 비율은 지능형 소비자 44.37%, 신재생 에너지 29.16%, 전력서비스 20.12%, 송배전 5.11%, 운송 1.24%로 계산되고 시간에 따른 상대적 에너지 절감 속도는 지능형 소비자 분야가 가장 빠르며 신재생 에너지 및 전력서비스로 순서를 이룬다. 송배전 분야에서의 절감 속도는 송배전 손실률 향상의 한계 때문에 낮고, 전기자동차 예상 보급 대수의 증가율이 낮아 운송 부분의 절감 속도가 가장 느리므로 이에 대한 대책이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze of the operating characteristics of the Gas engine driven Heat Pump(GHP) and to reduce maintenance costs through the most Economical plan. As the zoning modifications that have economic effects were confirmed. Applications should be made with a similar purpose of the space. The combination of a modified space has led to reduced operating hours of the outdoor unit. The reduction of the outdoor unit operating hours, reducing maintenance costs accordingly. When analyzed at six years have elapsed, the amount of savings through zoning modifications is more than an additional construction cost. During the design phase, cost-effective operation of the GHP is required for the proper zoning plan.

  • Investing in the tax-benefit funds is the best way for the inexperienced investors who do not have knowledge, expertise, and the time to research the information by themselves. This study describes the benefits of tax-benefit funds in Thailand. The tax-benefit funds consist of retirement mutual funds (RMFs) and super saving funds (SSFs). There are many kinds of funds investment policies on offer. The tax-benefit funds provide the opportunity to investors, which they are able to invest a small amount and draw more benefits. They hire fund managers to manage their money. These funds are able to help investors to meet their goals. The RMFs are suitable for investors who want to have money for retirement, investing every year, and getting tax exemption. The investors who invest in RMFs are able to deduct the tax income by including other retirement funds not exceeding THB500,000.00 per year. The SSFs match for the investors who need to obtain the tax exemption and long-term investment for at least ten years. The SSFs provide the benefit to investors that they are able to deduct taxable income not more than THB200,000.00 per year. Finally, these funds are tax-except and promoted for retirement savings.

Exploiting the Potentials of Rice Husk Ash as Supplement in Cement for Construction in Nigeria

  • This paper present the results of investigation on the use of rice husk ash as a partial substitute for cement in construction. One hundred and eighty specimens of concrete cubes were cast. 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20% partial replacement of cement with rice husk ash were carried at 1:2:4 mixes by weight with 0.60, 0.65, 0.70 water/cement ratio. The results indicated that compressive strengths of cubes at 0.6, water/cement were higher than 0.65 and 0.70. Also 5% partial replacement cement with rice husk ash at $28^{th}$ day average compressive strength value of $25.4\;N/mm^2$ compared well with 0% partial replacement of cement with rice husk ash of $26.28\;N/mm^2$. This shows that at 5% partial replacement of cement with rice husk ash can be used for structural concrete and at 15% replacement or more it can be used for non - structural construction works or light weight concrete construction. The cost analysis shows substantial amount of savings for the country.

채널 간 위상차 파라미터 생략 기법을 이용한 오디오 부호화 (An Audio Coding Technique Employing the Inter-channel Phase Difference Skip)

  • 본 논문에서는 음성/음악 통합 압축 기술(USAC)에 적용된 공간 오디오 부호화 기법인 MPEG 서라운드에서 채널 간 위상차(IPD) 파라미터를 효과적으로 생략하는 기법에 대해 다룬다. 기존의 방법에서는 파라미터 밴드의 IPD 파라미터가 모두 작은 경우에도 전체를 처리하여 전송한다. 이러한 경우 생략을 통해 비트 효율을 향상시킬 수 있다. IPD 파라미터의 심리음향적 민감도를 고려하여 청취 환경에서 인지하지 못하는 문턱 값을 추정하고, 문턱 값 아래의 위상차를 발생시키는 IPD 파라미터는 0으로 설정하고 전송하지 않는다. 제안하는 채널 간 위상차 파라미터 생략 기법을 적용하면 기존에 비해 38% 정도의 위상 파라미터 절감 효과를 얻을 수 있고, MUSHRA 청취 실험을 통해 복호화된 오디오의 음질 하락이 없음을 보인다.

  • Electric motor systems account for more than half of all electric systems and the amount of energy consumption of those is almost 70 percent of total energy consumption of electric motor systems in industry. As electric motor systems are very responsible for global electricity savings and environment protection. Many international organizations are supporting standards and policy development processes to improve the efficiency of electric motor systems. Many standards are being developed at technical committee of IEC that has been required in order to support the implementation of efficiency regulations. High efficiency standards and levels for electric motor systems are slowly being introduced and compulsory in many countries. Therefore understanding the international efficiency evaluation standards and the regulation of electric motor systems of each country is important. This paper presents the current status and trends of international evaluation standards and regulations about the efficiency of electric motor systems.

Cost optimization of reinforced high strength concrete T-sections in flexure

  • This paper reports on the development of a minimum cost design model and its application for obtaining economic designs for reinforced High Strength Concrete (HSC) T-sections in bending under ultimate limit state conditions. Cost objective functions, behavior constraint including material nonlinearities of steel and HSC, conditions on strain compatibility in steel and concrete and geometric design variable constraints are derived and implemented within the Conjugate Gradient optimization algorithm. Particular attention is paid to problem formulation, solution behavior and economic considerations. A typical example problem is considered to illustrate the applicability of the minimum cost design model and solution methodology. Results are confronted to design solutions derived from conventional design office methods to evaluate the performance of the cost model and its sensitivity to a wide range of unit cost ratios of construction materials and various classes of HSC described in Eurocode2. It is shown, among others that optimal solutions achieved using the present approach can lead to substantial savings in the amount of construction materials to be used. In addition, the proposed approach is practically simple, reliable and computationally effective compared to standard design procedures used in current engineering practice.

긴급제언 - 대심도 광역지하급행철도 네트워크 효과 (Deeper Underground Greater Metropolitan Express Train Network Effect)

  • The modal split structure of the Korea's transportation system has been dominated by road-oriented structure. The shortage of the inftrastructure to accommodate the rapidly increasing travel demand has brought about socio-economic losses such as severe traffic congestion and high logistic costs, and thereby weakened the competitiveness of the country. Highway transportation sector is more vulnerable to energy consumption comparing with railway sector since the highway sector is dependent mostly on fossil fuels for its energy source. In 2006 annual road cogestion costs in Korea reached 24.6 trillion won, with an average annual growth rate of 5.4%. The annual road congestion cost of intercity highways were 9.2 trillion won. As the new cities that recently developed are located far from Seoul area, the boundary of commuting in Seoul metropolitan area is extended. It makes passengers have longer trips with longer travel time, and the congestion problem to be more serious. In this regards, Gyeonggi Provincial Government proposed a deeper underground metropolitan express train system for the greater Metropolitan area. which is named as GTX. Gyeonggi Province suggested 3 key underground lines, based on the outcome of the feasibility study conducted by the Korea Society of Transportation, and submitted to the Ministry of Land Transportation and Maritime Affairs for its review. If the project is approved for construction and completed in 2016, the daily volume of surface traffic bound for Seoul will be reduced substantially and therefore the users will be benefitted for time savings by an annual amount of 2 trilion won every year.
