  • Microbial reduction of hexavalent (VI) to trivalent (III) chromium decreases its toxicity by two orders of magnitude. In order to investigate the nature of Cr-reduction, Cr-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa HP014 was isolated and tested for its reduction capability. At the concentration of 0.5 mM Cr(VI), cell growth was not inhibited by the presence of Cr(VI) in a liquid medium, and Cr(VI) reduction was accompanied by ell growth. When cell-free extract was tested, the reduction of Cr(VI) showed a saturation kinetics with the maximum specific activity of 0.33 .mu.mol min$\^$-1/ mg$\^$-1/ cell protein, and an apparent K. of 1.73 mM Cr(VI). The activity required either NADH or NADPH as an electron donor. However, NADPH gave 50% as mush activity as sequently the supernatant and pelleted membrane fractions were tested for Cr(VI) reduction activity. The supernatant of the centrifugation showed almost the same Cr(VI) reduction activity as compared with that of the cell-free extract, indicating that the Cr(VI)-reducing activity of P. aeruginosa HP-14 is due to soluble enzyme. Moreover, the activity appeared to be the highest among the known activities, suggesting that the strain might be useful for remediation of Cr(VI)-contaminated sites.

How to extract forensic data from current mobile phones and SYN, JTAG, Revolving There are three ways. Mobile phone and Smart Phone, but the technology and how to use forensic data because of the difference must have different extraction methods. In this paper, in the Smart Phone will study how to extract forensic data. Commonly used in the Google Android Smart Phone and Windows Mobile Smart Phone OS in the specification and analysis for analysis, the data analysis. Also, Google Android and Windows Mobile Smart Phone to extract forensic data to generate evidence. • Nowadays the aerial photos is using to get the information around our spatial environment and it increases by geometric progression in many fields. The aerial photos need in a simple object such as cartography and ground covey classification and also in a social objects such as the city plan, environment, disaster, transportation etc. However, the shadow, which includes when taking the aerial photos, makes a trouble to interpret the ground information, and also users, who need the photos in their field tasks, have restriction. This study, for removing the shadow, uses the single image and the image without the source of image and taking situation. Also, this study present clustering algorism based on HIS color model that use Hue, Saturation and Intensity, especially this study used I(intensity) to extract shadow area from image. And finally by filtering in Fourier frequency domain creates the intrinsic image which recovers the 3-D color information and removes the shadow.

  • Rule set is an important step which impacts significantly on accuracy of object-oriented classification result. Therefore, this paper proposes a rule set to extract land cover from Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery acquired in Donganh, Hanoi, Vietnam. The rules were generated to distinguish five classes, namely river, pond, residential areas, vegetation and paddy. These classes were classified not only based on spectral characteristics of features, but also indices of water, soil, vegetation, and urban. The study selected five indices, including largest difference index max.diff; length/width; hue, saturation and intensity (HSI); normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and ratio vegetation index (RVI) based on membership functions of objects. Overall accuracy of classification result is 0.84% as the rule set is used in classification process.

  • Specimens of stainless steel reactor internals were irradiated with 240 keV protons and 6 MeV Xe ions at room temperature. Nanoindentation constant stiffness measurement tests were carried out to study the hardness variations. An irradiation hardening effect was observed in proton- and Xe-irradiated specimens and more irradiation damage causes a larger hardness increment. The Nix-Gao model was used to extract the bulk-equivalent hardness of irradiation-damaged region and critical indentation depth. A different hardening level under H and Xe irradiation was obtained and the discrepancies of displacement damage rate and ion species may be the probable reasons. It was observed that the hardness of Xe-irradiated specimens saturate at about 2 displacement/atom (dpa), whereas in the case of proton irradiation, the saturation hardness may be more than 7 dpa. This discrepancy may be due to the different damage distributions.

  • B-amylase(EC 3.2.1.2) was isolated from the root of arrowroot(Peuria thunbergiana Bentham) with distilled water and then fractionated with ammonium sulfate. Crude extract was partially purified by ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration. The enzymatic properties of partially purified $\beta$-amylase were as follows, the enzyme was fractionated with ammonium sulfate between 0.2 and 0.4 saturation, and showed the typical reaction properties of B-amylase producing only maltose from starch. Optinum pH and temperature were pH 6.5, $50^{\circ}C$ respectively. The activity of the enzyme had proportional relations with enzyme protein concentration below 4mg, and had Michaelis constant of 66.7mg% for soluble starch. The enzyme was inhibited by some metal louts such as silver, cadmium, mercury, aluminum, iron and copper.

  • We optimize a vector network analyzer ferromagnetic resonance (VNA-FMR) measurement system to study spin dynamics and Gilbert damping parameters of thin ferromagnetic films. In order to obtain accurate damping parameters, careful determination of the susceptibility line-width is required. The measured S-parameters are converted into the corresponding susceptibility through a calibration processes. From the line-width measurements, we can successfully extract the saturation magnetizations and Gilbert damping parameters of 5-, 8-, and 10-nm thick $Ni_{81}Fe_{19}$ (Py) films.

  • This paper is to recognize and play tab chords from guitar musical sheets. The musical chord area of an input image is segmented by changing the image in saturation and applying the Grabcut algorithm. Based on a template matching, our approach detects tab starting sections on a segmented musical area. The virtual block method is introduced to search blanks over chord lines and extract tab fret segments, which doesn't cause the computation loss to remove tab lines. In the experimental tests, the prototype based classification outperforms Bayesian method and the nearest neighbor rule with the whole set of training data and its performance is similar to that of the support vector machine. The experimental result shows that the prediction rate is about 99.0% and the number of selected prototypes is below 3.0%.

  • In 1995, a group of representatives from the integrated circuits and computer-aided design industries presented a industry standard bipolar model called the VBIC model. The VBIC model includes the improved Early effect, quasi-saturation, substrate parasitic, avalanche multiplication, and self-heating which are not available in the conventional SGP model. This paper applies VBIC model for SiGe HBT device and develops an accurate and efficient methodology to extract all the DC and AC parameters of the VBIC model for SiGe HBT device at room temperature. Simulated results by the extracted VBIC model parameter are compared with the measurement data and show very good agreement in both DC and s-parameters prediction.

  • This paper proposes a hybrid algorithm combining K-means clustering and watershed algorithms for flower segmentation and counting. We use the K-means clustering algorithm to obtain the main colors in a complex background according to the cluster centers and then take a color space transformation to extract pixel values for the hue, saturation, and value of flower color. Next, we apply the threshold segmentation technique to segment flowers precisely and obtain the binary image of flowers. Based on this, we take the Euclidean distance transformation to obtain the distance map and apply it to find the local maxima of the connected components. Afterward, the proposed algorithm adaptively determines a minimum distance between each peak and apply it to label connected components using the watershed segmentation with eight-connectivity. On a dataset of 30 images, the test results reveal that the proposed method is more efficient and precise for the counting of overlapped flowers ignoring the degree of overlap, number of overlap, and relatively irregular shape.
