Saturated absorption spectroscopy of 13C2H2 in the 1550 nm region (1550 nm 영역에서 아세틸렌 분자의 포화흡수분광)

  • We have observed the saturated absorption spectrum of the P(16) line of the V$_1$+V$_3$ band of $^{13}$ C$_2$H$_2$ molecule by using the external cavity spectroscopy method. The frequency of laser has been stabilized to the saturated absorption spectrum. The relative contrast of the saturation spectrum is about 7 % with respect to the linear absorption and the linewidth is about 1.8 MHz. The frequency fluctuation of the stabilized LD is about $\pm$20 KHz during the sampling time 100 S.

  • Using the external cavity spectroscopy method, we have observed the saturated absorption spectrum of the P(16) line of the v$_1$+v$_3$ band of $^{13}C$_2$H$_2$$.   • We have designed and assembled a saturated absorption-spectroscopy system of $^{127}I_2$ for the frequency stabilization of the 543 nm He-Ne laser. The frequency of a internal-mirror 543 nm He-Ne laser was swept by utilizing the temperature and PZT change of the laser cavity length. Frequency modulation was applied to the output laser mirror with a PZT modulator for the third harmonic signal. A portion of the hyperfine spectrum originated from the R(12)26-0 and R(106)28-0 transitions of the B-X system of $^{127}I_2$ was observed as the third-derivative signal using a saturated absorption spectroscopy. The signal-to-noise ratio of a typical hyperfine spectrum signal was estimated to be 30:1.

  • 포화흡수분광(saturated apsorption spectroscopy)$^{[1]}$ 은 원자나 분자의 도플러 선폭확대를 제거할 수 있는 고분해 분광법 중의 하나이다. 이 방법은 조사하려는 매질에 서로 반대방향으로 진행하는 펌프광과 조사광을 비추어, 펌프광의 주파수가 원자의 에너지 준위에 공진 될 때, 매질 내에서 조사광의 흡수가 달라지는 현상을 이용하는 것이다. 특히 알카리 원자의 경우, 바닥상태에 두 개의 초미세준위를 가지고 있고 들뜬상태의 수명이 짧으므로 약한 펌프광에 의해서도 쉽게 이 현상을 관찰할 수가 있다(그림 1 (a), 그림 2 (a)).   • We observed a velocity-selective saturated absorption spectrum when the pump beam intersects the probe beam at a finite angle with a saturated absorption spectroscopic configuration in the cesium vapor cell. And we also observed a dispersion-like signal by measuring the difference between two velocity-selective absorption spectra produced by two parallel probe beams intersected by one pump beam. The dispersion-like signal was changed with the crossing angle and the crossing position of the pump and probe beams and compared with the calculated result. The dispersion-like signal was used as a frequency discriminator, and the laser could be frequency-stabilized without any frequency modulation. As a result, the square root of Allan variance was $\sigma_y(\tau=1s)=7$\times10^{-12}$, for the sampling time of 1 s.of 1 s.

Comparison of Binding Stoichiometry of [Ru(1,10-phenanthroline)2dipyrido [3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine]2+ and its Bis-derivative to DNA

  • A new bis-Ru(II) complex, in which two [Ru(1,10-phenanthroline)$_2$dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine]$^{2+}$ were tethered by a 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane linker, was synthesized and its binding mode and stoichiometry to DNA was investigated by optical spectroscopy including linear dichroism (LD) and fluorescence intensity measurement. The magnitude of the negatively reduced LD signal of the bis-Ru(II) complex in the dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine (DPPZ) ligand absorption region appeared to be similar compared to that in the DNA absorption region, which is considered to be a diagnostic for DPPZ ligand intercalation. The binding stoichiometry measured from its LD magnitude and enhanced fluorescence intensity corresponds to one ligand per three DNA bases, effectively violating the nearest neighbouring site exclusion model for classical DNA intercalation. This observation is in contrast with monomer analogue [Ru(1,10-phenanthroline)$_2$dipyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c]phenazine]$^{2+}$, which is saturated at the DPPZ ligand to DNA base ratio of 0.25, or one DPPZ ligand per four nucleobases.

  • By applying the Nakayama's theory of saturation spectroscopy to 87Rb $D_2$ lines, taking into account the optical pumping process, the relative intensities of the resonance signals were calculated for various polarization combinations of pump and probe beams. The saturated absorption spectra were observed with a linewidth-narrowed semiconductor laser. As the result, it was found that the theoretical calculations were in good agreement with the experimental observations in the case where the geomagnetic field was- shielded.

  • The corrosion behavior of aluminum pad coated with epoxy molding compound (EMC) was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The impedance change was evaluated by the absorption of deionized water (DI water) to EMC coating and the interface between EMC and aluminum. During the absorption a decrease in resistance and thus an increase in capacitance of EMC as well as the interface of EMC/Al could be observed. Up to about 170 hours of absorption the EMC was saturated with the water molecules and ions generated from EMC. Subsequently the ionic water was penetrated to the interface and finally the corrosion of aluminum was occurred by the Dl water and ions. From measuring the adhesion strength with the Dl water absorption it was expected that the saturation of water and ions in the interface decreased the adhesion strength. The higher filler content of EMC should be necessary to inhibit the corrosion of aluminum electrode in microelectronic packages.

  • We performed injection-locking by two independent semiconductor lasers and investigated the spectral modes of the injection-locked laser From the observation of the saturated absorption spectrum in the $^{85}Rb$ D1 transition line, we have confirmed that the frequency of the injection-locked slave laser is synchronized by the frequency of the master laser, and the slave laser has a narrow linewidth after injection-locking. According to the intensity injected into the slave laser, we measured the variation of the injection-locking range and the mode of the injection-locked slave laser by using the confocal Fabry-Ferret interferometer. In the case of the incomplete injection-locking, we observed the competition between the free running mode of the slave laser and the mode of the master laser and analyzed the modes of the injection-locked slave laser.
