Static and Dynamic Analysis of Wrinkled Membranes (주름이 있는 막재료의 정적 및 동적 해석)

  • In this paper, the static and dynamic behavior of partly wrinkled membrane was studied. Membrane finite elements were used in the analysis and the wrinkling in the element was accounted for by a penalty-parameter material modeling which was implemented as a user subroutine to ABAQUS. The wrinkle algorithm was applied to a corner-loaded square membrane to investigate the effect of wrinkling on the static and dynamic behavior.

  • Sixty five phenol degrading bacteria were isolated from soil and identified. Sirnility values calculated on the basis of total 46 morphological, biochemical and physiological characteristics of the isolated strains. 65 isolates were divided into 6 clusters at the 70% simility lavei, The dominant organisms were belonged to Azotobacter, Pseudomonas and Flavobactwium.

통신해양기상위성의 개발

  • 통신해양기상위성은 기상관측, 해양관측 및 통신방송의 3가지 임무를 수행하는 정지궤도 복합임무 위성이다. 위성본체는 기존의 화성탐사선(Mars Express) 위성의 구조를 확장하여 새로 개발한 구조체에 기존의 E3000 통신위성 버스에 사용하였던 전기전자 부품 및 추진계를 사용한다. 3축제어 위성으로서 태양전지판은 한 쪽에만 부착되어 있으며, 반대쪽에는 종래의 기상위성이 모멘트 균형을 위하여 갖고 있었던 솔라세일(solar sail)을 갖고 있지 않다. 기상탑재체는 미국의 아이티티(ITT)가 제작 공급하고, 해양탑재체는 이에이디에스 아스트리움(EADS Astrium)사와 항공우주연구원이 공동으로 개발하며, 통신 탑재체는 전자통신연구원에서 개발한다. 지상국은 항공우주연구원이, 관제시스템은 전자통신연구원이 개발을 담당하고 있다. 개발의 전 과정이 해외협력 개발로 이루어진다. 설계는 프랑스의 뚤르즈 소재 이에이디에스 아스트리움(EADS Astrium)사에서 한국 기술진의 참여 하에 이루어지며, 조립 및 시험은 항공우주연구원의 시설을 이용하여 한국에서 이루어진다. 발사준비도 공동으로 수행하고, 발사 후 전이궤도운영은 아스트리움사의 지상국을 사용하여 수행하여 목표궤도에 진입시킨 후 항공우주연구원의 지상국에서 궤도 내 시험(in-orbit-test)를 완료한 후 위성을 인도 받는다.

  • According to some statistics, about 13,000 passenger aircrafts are daily flying over the globe and these aircrafts are struck by a lightning flash at least once a year. But so far we have never heard lightning injured any passengers and crew members got shocked by lightning. The aircraft, lightning and the sky are inseparably related to each other. Accordingly, the aircraft and lightning are also inseparably related to each other. They say lightning is easily attracted to metals and these aircrafts are incidentally made of metal. Aircraft become statically and electrically charged when flying because of the friction with air. A lot of research and investigation to protect aircraft from the influence of lightening have been made since the early days. The following descriptions outline researches and investigations on how aircraft and ships get aways from lightning flashes during the flight or the sail.   • Now, on the developing COMS(Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) has solar panel on the South panel only. Therefore, the wheel off-loading has to be performed periodically to reduce a induced momentum energy by a asymmetric solar panel. One of two East/West station keeping maneuver to correct simultaneously longitude and eccentricity, orbit corrections may be performed during one of the two wheel off-loading manoeuvres per day to get enough observation time for meteorological and ocean sensor. In this paper, we applied a linearized orbit maneuver equation to acquire maneuver time and delta-V. Nonlinear simulation for the station keeping is performed and compared with general station keeping strategy for fuel reduction.

  • In designing and manufacturing a submarine, an expensive real mock up is usually built as a reference because of the spatial constraints of a submarine. This paper presents an integrated and automated design process for a submarine that uses a digital mock up. Various equipment libraries are built for feature based design. Using the developed digital mock up, this paper shows various ways to verify the design, including a space analysis to check for any interference between pieces of equipment and the hull and an ergonomic analysis using lifelike dummies to examine the work space and operability. As a part of the integrated design system, a design automation system was also developed to generate surface point data for the outer hull, pressure hull, casing, and sail. The whole process was applied to the design of a submarine for verification.

  • Lead-free complex perovskite ceramics $NaMeO_3$ ($Me{\equiv}Nb$, Ta) were synthesized using conventional solid state reaction technique and characterized by structural, FTIR and electrical (dielectric and ac conductivity) studies. The crystal symmetry, space group and unit cell dimensions were determined from the experimental results using FullProf software. XRD analysis of the compound indicated the formation of single-phase orthorhombic structure with the space group Pmmm (47). Dielectric studies showed the diffuse phase transition at $394^{\circ}C$ for $NaNbO_3$ and $430^{\circ}C$ for $NaTaO_3$. Ac conductivity in both the compounds follows Jonscher's power law.

  • When a ship is sailing on the sea, she has the six-degrees of freedom of motion. It means that she meets a lot of dangerous situations. Especially, when the VLCC is travelling in irregular sea, the slamming, the deck-wetness and the propeller racing are occured with the sea state she is on. These are the representative steps that a heave-to and a scudding are used for a ship building , but for a predominance in both. The author intends to clarify this problem theoretically. The methods of statistical calculation are based with the ITTC spectral formulation and with the assumption that the wave height histogram follows the Rayleigh distribution. In this study, the author gives an attention on the relative bow motion to a wave in the irregular sea. It is verified that the relative diplacement at the bow to sea level in the following sea is less than that in the head sea. It is confirmed that, therefore, one have to sail with scudding when he is threatened to heave-to at a rough sea. But he must bear the propeller racing in mind in the cases.

  • For boarding comfort and pleasant boarding sensitivity of passenger in passenger ship, there are a few methods such as motion sickness rate or MSI(Motion Sickness Incidence) to assess safety of passenger ship. To find out MSI or motion sickness rate of the training vessel Kaya of Pukyong National University, we use lots of various factors: sea condition, incident angle in main sail way, economic speed, calculation position of motion sickness, sea state, work place and reduce zone of ship. In this paper, we adopted Maxsurf Seakeeper program based on Strip Theory and carefully compared theoretical results with experimental results.

  • The frequent finding of soil contamination by dogs' feces are remarkable, and such soil contamination may be public health problem. Of 608 samples, 30(4.9%) were positive for nematode ova. Ten paint 3% of sail samples from parks and 7.9% from footpaths were found to contain nematode eggs. Of the helminth eggs detected, eggs of Toxocara spp. were the most commonly encountered, and mostly from the soil of footpaths. No eggs were recovered from the soil of school yards; the level of soil contamination was low in public play areas. Egg recovery rate of the soil to dogs' feces collected from footpaths was approximately 1:5. And the larvae demonstrated from the soil in the present study were nematode larvae, mainly recovered from parks.
