In this paper, we investigate an inventory system where a single manufacturer purchases and processes raw materials in order to deliver finished goods to multiple retailers. Earlier study in this type of supply chain only consider a single raw material in order to produce finished goods, but we consider multi-raw materials in order to produce finished goods. Also, we develop an iterative solution procedure to find the order quantity for the finished goods and raw materials, and the number of shipments between manufacturer and retailers that minimizes the total cost per unit time of the raw materials ordering and holding, manufacture's setup and finished goods holding, the retailer's ordering and inventory holding. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate that jointly considering the total cost results in less total cost than that of considering them separately.
We tried to analyze the inflammation reactions by treatment of AG, AS and AA in murine RAW 264.7 cells. To investigate the effect of AG, AS and AA on cell viability of RAW 264.7 cells, AG, AS and AA were treated for 24 h and MTS assay was performed. Cell viabilities were increased in $1,600{\mu}g/ml$ concentration by AS, AA and AG treatments, respectively. The mRNA expression levels of $IL-1{\beta}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and iNOS were increased by AG and AA treatment at a concentration of $200{\mu}g/ml$ in RAW 264.7 cells without Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) treatment. The mRNA expression levels of $IL-1{\beta}$, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and iNOS were increased by AG and AA 6 h treatment at a concentration of $200{\mu}g/ml$ with LPS treatment. In this study, we observed that AG, AS and AA show various activities on inflammation reaction depend on their treatment time. In the future, studies should be conducted to investigate the effects of AG, AS and AA on the various inflammatory responses of macrophages.
Although many studies on immune modulatory materials have used RAW 264.7 cells, few have used T cell-derived TK-1 cell lines. Moreover, although some studies have investigated the efficacy of plant-derived β-sitosterol, few have examined the immunomodulatory activity of its analogue, daucosterol. In this study, β-sitosterol and daucosterol were isolated from D. batatas and identified by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. To evaluate the immune-enhancing or inhibitory effects of the isolated phytosterols, the expression levels of the inflammatory response genes COX-2, TNF-α, IL-6, and iNOS were analyzed by RT-PCR. The relative expression levels of TNF-α and iNOS in RAW 264.7 cells were increased more than threefold with β-sitosterol treatment comparing to those of untreated control. In the case of TK-1 cells, the expression level of TNF-α was decreased and the expression level of iNOS was increased in a β-sitosterol concentration-dependent manner. The expression levels of COX-2, TNF-α, and IL-6 increased by approximately 0.7-1.2 times in RAW 264.7 cells treated with daucosterol compared to those of untreated control, but iNOS expression decreased by 0.8-0.18 times. In the case of daucosterol-treated TK-1 cells, the expression levels of TNF-α, IL-6, and iNOS were markedly reduced from those of TK-1 cells treated only with lipopolysaccaride. As a conclusion, β-sitosterol treatment increased TNF-α and iNOS expression levels in RAW 264.7 cells, thus exerting an immune- boosting effect. However, in TK-1 cells, iNOS expression increased while TNF-α expression decreased, indicating an immunosuppressive activity of β-sitosterol. Daucosterol appears to exert an immunosuppressive effect in both macrophages and T cell lines by inhibiting iNOS expression in RAW 264.7 cells and greatly inhibiting the expression of TNF-α, IL-6, and iNOS in TK-1 cells.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the inflammatory response in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated RAW 264.7 macrophages could be promoted by particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) stimulation. To this end, the levels of inflammatory parameters, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and inflammation-regulating genes were investigated in RAW 264.7 cells treated with PM2.5 in the presence or absence of LPS. Our results showed that the production levels of pro-inflammatory mediators (nitric oxide and prostaglandin E2) and cytokines (interleukin-6 and -1β) were significantly increased by PM2.5 stimulation in LPS-treated RAW 264.7 cells, which was correlated with increased expression genes involved in their production. In addition, when LPS-treated RAW 264.7 cells were exposed to PM2.5, nuclear factor-kappaB (NF-κB) expression was further increased in the nucleus, and the expression of inhibitor of NF-κB as well as NF-κB in the cytoplasm was decreased. These results suggest that the co-treatment of PM2.5 and LPS further increases the activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway compared to each treatment alone, thereby contributing to the promotion of transcriptional activity of inflammatory genes. Furthermore, although the generation of ROS was greatly increased by PM2.5 in LPS-treated RAW 264.7 cells, the NF-κB inhibitor did not reduce the generation of ROS. In addition, when the generation of ROS was artificially suppressed, the production of inflammatory mediators and the activation of NF-κB were both abolished. Therefore, our results suggest that the increase in the NF-κB-mediated inflammatory response induced by PM2.5 in LPS-treated RAW 264.7 macrophages was a ROS generation-dependent phenomenon.

This study investigated the probability of foodborne illness caused by raw oyster consumption contaminated with high risk Vibrio species such as V. vulnificus and V. cholerae. Eighty-eight raw oyster samples were collected from the south coast, west coast and Seoul areas, and examined for the prevalence of high risk Vibrio species. The growth patterns of V. vulnificus and V. cholerae in raw oysters were evaluated, and consumption frequency and amounts for raw oyster were investigated from a Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. With the collected data, a risk assessment simulation was conducted to estimate the probability of foodborne illness caused by intake of raw oysters, using @RISK. Of 88 raw oysters, there were no V. vulnificus- or V. cholerae-positive samples. Thus, initial contamination levels of Vibrio species in raw oysters were estimated by the statistical methods developed by Vose and Sanaa, and the estimated value for the both Vibrio spp. was -3.6 Log CFU/g. In raw oyster, cell counts of V. vulnificus and V. cholerae remained unchanged. The incidence of raw oyster consumers was 0.35%, and the appropriate probabilistic distribution for the consumption amounts was the exponential distribution. A risk assessment simulation model was developed with the collected data, and the probability of the foodborne illness caused by the consumption of raw oyster was 9.08×10-15 for V. vulnificus and 8.16×10-13 for V. cholerae. Consumption frequency was the first factor, influencing the probability of foodborne illness.
This study found that flotation efficiencies for removing algae and micro particles in raw water were optimized on mixing intensity and time of the mixing and flocculation conditions with a continuous DAF system. It is more efficient for mixing intensity at 23.1 $s^{-1}$ and time at 660 s(Gt value : 15246) to float flocculated floc with the raw water in M water treatment plant. Flotation efficiency was more than about 0.9 when operated pressure and A/S ratio were sustained at 5 $kg_f{\cdot}cm^{-2}$ and up to 0.056 $mL{\cdot}mg^{-1}$. The continuous DAF system made by the study could be continuously operated for 20 days and sustained not exceeding 4 NTU with raw water with low turbidity(13.4~9.8 NTU).
Raw ginseng root of Panax ginseng is graded according to its shape and the quality of its internal tissue. A variety of grades are sold with prices according to grade. If an inferior raw ginseng is purchased, the consumer experience an economic loss. This research was conducted in order to explore the possibility of developing a noninvasive method for investigating raw ginseng's internal tissue. It has been determined that computed tomography (CT) scanner images agreed with actual cross-sections of raw ginseng. CT images were obtained to assess the internal portions of raw ginseng, and CT scans of raw ginseng were thoroughly measured using the Hounsfield unit (HU) system, since it allows for a more detailed analysis compared to nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. HU is a measure of attenuation used for CT images, with each pixel being assigned a value using a scale on which air is defined as -1000, water as 0 and compact bone as +1000. It takes about one second to process are slice and produce an image of the raw ginseng by a one channel CT scanner. An image good enough to discriminate the internal tissues can be obtained in 1/24 seconds with a one-channel CT scanner. Using this method, images of raw ginseng can be obtained and the characteristics of the internal tissues can be observed in a short time.
γ-dicalcium silicate(γ-C2S) is known as a polymorphism of belite. Due to its high CO2 fixed capacity and the low CO2 emission production process, γ-C2S has attracted more and more attention of researchers. For the further development of application of γ-C2S in building construction industry. In this study, we aim to investigate the method for synthesizing high purity of γ-C2S. The influence of different raw materials and calcination temperatures on the purity of γ-C2S was also evaluated. Several Ca bearing materials were selected as the calcium source, the materials which' s main component is SiO2 were used as the silicon source. Raw materials were mixed and were calcined under different temperatures. The results reveal that the highest purity could be obtained using Ca(OH)2 and SiO2 powder as raw materials. And for the practical application, a relatively economic synthesis method using natural mineral materials- limestone and silica sand as raw materials was developed, by this method, the purity of the synthetic γ-C2S was 77.6%.
In the management activities of head office in supporting franchisees in domestic food-service enterprises, the raw material supply plays a positive role to support franchisees' operation activity and it comes into conflict with them at the same time. In this paper, I have tried to find out the relationship between raw material supplying and the satisfaction of the franchisees by experimental research in order to research the route of head office's raw material supplying. To sum up the results, it was found out there is no meaningful relationship between the raw material supplying and the franchisees satisfaction (intention to renew the agreement), It indicates it would be more effective for the franchisees to buy the raw materials from the suppliers developed by the franchisees except some key materials in order to reduce the conflicts with the franchisees.
