곡면을 포함하는 형상의 영상을 이용한 모델링 (Image-Based Approach for Modeling 3D Shapes with Curved Surfaces)

  • 본 논문에서는 NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines)로 표현된 3차원 곡면을 복원하기 위한 영상 기반 곡면 모델링 기법을 제안한다. 카메라 보정이 수행된 복수의 영상으로부터 사용자가 대응곡선을 지정하면 카메라의 정보를 이용하여 대응 곡선의 3차원 복원을 수행한다. 사용자 인터페이스에 의해 각 영상에서 곡선을 지정하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 NURBS 곡선을 이용하였으며 bilinear surface, ruled surface, generalized cylinder, surface of revolution등의 기본 곡면뿐 아니라 skinned surface, swept surface, boundary patch등의 고급 곡면 생성을 지원하여 다양한 모양의 곡면 물체를 모델링 할 수 있다. 또한 영상을 기반으로 view-dependent 텍스처 생성방법을 지원하여 좀더 사실적인 곡면의 복원을 수행한다. 생성된 3차원 곡선 또는 곡면은 VRML과 같은 표준 형식으로 출력하여 재사용할 수 있다.

  • The performance of small-size impellers with ruled surfaces was investigated for flank milling over a wide speed range, using computational fluid dynamics analyses and gas bench tests. An impeller with a ruled surface was designed, manufactured, and tested to evaluate the effects of blade loading, the backsweep angle, and the relative velocity distribution on the compressor performance. The simulations and tests were completed using the same compressor cover with identical inlet and outlet channels to accurately compare the performance of the abovementioned impeller with a commercial impeller containing sculptured blades. Both impellers have the same number of blades, number of splitters, and shroud meridional profiles. The backsweep angles of the blades on the ruled impeller were selected to work with the same pinched diffuser as for a sculptured impeller. The inlet-to-exit relative velocity diffusion ratio and the blade loading were provided to maximize the flow rate and to minimize the surge flow rate. The design flow rate, rpm, were selected same for both impellers. Test results showed that for the compressor stage with a ruled impeller, the efficiency was increased by 0.32% with an extended surge margin without a reduction in the pressure ratio as compared to the impeller with the sculptured design. It was concluded that an increased relative velocity diffusion coupled with a large backsweep angle was an effective way to improve the compressor stage efficiency. Additionally, an appropriate blade loading distribution was important for achieving a wide operating range and higher efficiency.

  • An efficient method of machining impeller is presented. In the roughing process, the cutting area is divided into two regions to reduce cutting time and select cutting tools. The regions are determined by characteristic point on the geometry of impeller blade. Then, the tool of the maximum radius is selected in each area. Tool interference in cutting areas is avoided by checking the intersection between cooing tool axis and ruling line on blade surface.

  • In the present paper, we study a non-degenrate ruled surface along a null curve in a 3-dimensional Minkowski space E31, which is called a null scroll, an investigate some characterizations of null scrolls satisfying the condition H=AH, A Mat(3, ), where denotes the Laplacian of the surface with respect to the induced metric, H the mean curvature vector and Mat(3, ) the set of 3$\times$3-real matrices.

Z-Map기반 모의가공을 위한 공구 이동 궤적면의 매개변수형 모델링 (Parametric Modelling of Cutter Swept Surface for Z-Map Based Cutting Simulation)

  • NC cutting simulation is an important factor in the development of products. The geometric modelling of cutter swept surface should be done in NC cutting simulation. A part of cutter swept surface is a ruled surface blended with silhouette curve and cutter path. Finding an intersection point between cutter swept surface and a line is one of major problems in Z-map based cutting simulation. In this paper, cutter swept surface is defined parametrically and it's intersection point with Z-map is found in an exact form. Triangular grid Z-map based 3-axis NC cutting simulation is performed.

  • This paper presents a method for impeller modeling by the reverse engineering and the 5-axis machining. The impeller is composed of pressure surface, suction surface and leading edge, and so on. The impeller is modeled by using the characteristic curves of impeller such as hub curves, shroud curves and leading edge. The characteristic curves are extracted from the scanned data. The hub curves and shroud curves are generated by intersection between blade surface and hub boundary and shroud boundary. respectively. A sample impeller machining is performed by tool path plan and post-processing with inverse kinematic solution.

  • In this paper, a polishing pad has been analyzed in detail, to understand surface phenomena of polishing process. The polishing pad plays a key role in polishing process and is one of the important layer in polishing process, because it is a reaction layer of polishing[1]. Pad surface physical property is also ruled by pad profile. The profile and roughness of pad is controlled by different types of conditioning tool. Conditioning tool add mechanical force to pad, and make some roughness and profile. Formed pad surface will affect on polishing performance such as RR (Removal Rate) and uniformity in CMP Pad surface condition is changed by conditioning tool and dummy run and is stable at final. And this research, we want to reduce break-in and dummy polishing process by analysis of pad surface and artificial machining to make stable pad surface. The surface treatment or machining enables to control the surface of polishing pad. Therefore, this research intends to verify the effect of the buffing process on pad surface through analysis of the removal rate, friction force and temperature. In this research, urethane polishing pad which is named IC pad(Nitta-Haas Inc.) and has micro pore structure, is studied because, this type of pad is most conventional type.

  • This paper presents a method fur impeller modeling and 5-axis machining by the reverse engineering. The impeller is composed of pressure surface, suction surface and leading edge, and so on. The surfaces can be modeled by using the characteristic curves such as hub curves, shroud curves and fillet curves. The characteristic curves are extracted from the scanned data and the inspection is performed between the surfaces generated by using the characteristic curves and the scanned data. Then, An impeller is machined by 5-axis mainlining and post-processing with inverse kinematic solution.

  • In this research, the polishing pad for W CMP has been analyzed to understand stabilization of polishing performance. For stabilization of process, the polishing pad condition is one of important factors. The polishing pad plays a key role in polishing process, because it contact with reacted surface of wafer[1]. The physical property of pad surface is ruled by conditioning tool which makes roughness and profile of pad surface. Pad surface affects on polishing performance such as RR(Removal Rate) and uniformity in CMP. The stabilized pad surface has stable roughness. And its surface has high level of wettability which can increase the probability of abrasive adhesion on pad. The result of this research is that the reduction of break-in and dummy polishing process were achieved by artificial machining to make stable pad surface. 장구형 웜 나사의 절삭 엔드밀 공구 형상에 따른 치형 정밀도 분석 (Analysis of Tooth Profile Accuracy of Enveloping Worm Thread Depending on End Mill Tool Shape)

  • Cylindrical worm reducers are generally used in various fields and forms throughout the industry, and demand is increasing due to their role as an integral part of the industry. Market trends require high-load, high-precision components, and small-sized reducers with large loads. When using a cylindrical worm reducer, a reducer designed with a reduced center distance while maintaining the same output torque results in gear wear. To overcome this difficulty, an enveloping worm gear reducer is introduced and studied. In this paper, three types of end mill tools are used to evaluate the tooth profile accuracy for each tool shape during machining of the tooth profile for a non-developed surface worm thread. The effect of the endmill shape on the accuracy of the tooth profile was analyzed by performing 3D modeling of the surrounding worm tooth profile based on the Hindley method. In this study, we analyzed tooth profile accuracy, tooth surface roughness, and tooth surface machining time, etc. Through the study, efficient machining conditions for the enveloping worm gears and the influence of parameters on the process were presented.
