This paper presents an intelligent computer system, which can easily diagnose electrical fire causes, without the help of human experts of electrical fires diagnosis. For this system, a database is built with facts and rules driven from real electrical fires, and an intellectual database system which even a beginner can diagnose fire causes has been developed, named as an Electrical Fire Causes Diagnosis System : EFCDS. The database system has adopted, as an inference engine, a mixed reasoning approach which is constituted with the rule-based reasoning and the case-based reasoning. The system for a reasoning model was implemented using Delphi 3, one of program development tools, and Paradox is used as a database building tool. To verify effectiveness and performance of this newly developed diagnosis system, several simulated fire examples were tested and the causes of fire examples were detected effectively by this system. Additional researches will be needed to decide the minimal significant level of the solution and the weighting level of important factors.
Manufacturing environments in the real world are subject to many sources of change and uncertainty, such as new job releases, job cancellations, a chance in the processing time or start time of some operation. Thus, the realistic scheduling method should Properly reflect these dynamic environment. Based on the release times of jobs, JSSP (Job Shoe Scheduling Problem) can be classified as static and dynamic scheduling problem. In this research, we mainly consider the dynamic JSSP with continually arriving jobs. The goal of this research is to develop an efficient scheduling method based on GA (Genetic Algorithm) to address dynamic JSSP. we designed scheduling method based on SGA (Sing1e Genetic Algorithm) and PGA (Parallel Genetic Algorithm) The scheduling method based on GA is extended to address dynamic JSSP. Then, This algorithms are tested for scheduling and rescheduling in dynamic JSSP. The results is compared with dispatching rule. In comparison to dispatching rule, the GA approach produces better scheduling performance.
A study on the static analysis of Timoshenko beams is presented. A beam element is developed by using isogeometric approach based on Timoshenko beam theory which allows the transverse shear deformation. The identification of transverse shear locking is conducted by three refinement schemes such as h-, p- and k-refinement and compared to other reference solutions. From numerical examples, the present beam element does not produce any shear locking in very thin beam situations even with full Gauss integration rule. Finally, the benchmark tests described in this study is provided as future reference solutions for Timoshenko beam problems based on isogeometric approach.
Neural network technique is widely employed in the fields of signal processing, control systems, pattern recognition, etc. Learning of neural networks is an important procedure to accomplish dynamic system modeling. This paper presents a novel learning approach for differential neural network models based on the Kalman-Bucy filter theory. We construct an augmented state vector including original neural state and parameter vectors and derive a state estimation rule avoiding gradient function terms which involve to the conventional neural learning methods such as a back-propagation approach. We carry out numerical simulation to evaluate the proposed learning approach in nonlinear system modeling. By comparing to the well-known back-propagation approach and Kalman-Bucy filtering, its superiority is additionally proved under stochastic system environments.
The best available solution to predict the fatigue life of structural steels is the implementation of EPFM approach based on the principles and techniques of elasto plastic fracture mechanics. To predict the fatigue life, the conventional Paris law has been modified by substituting the range of J-value denoted by ΔJ for ΔK that is calculated by the proposed p-version model. The proposed P-version finite element model is formulated by the incremental theory of Plasticity that consists of the constitutive equation fur elastic-perfectly plastic materials, Tresca/von-Mises yield criteria, and associated flow rule. The experimental fatigue test is conducted with five UP(Center Clucked Panels) specimens to validate the accuracy of the p-version finite element model. Also, the results obtained by LTM approach have been compared with those by EPFM approach.
Parametric design is an important modeling paradigm in CAD/CAM applications, enabling efficient design modifications and variations. One of the major issues in parametric design is to develop a geometric constraint solver that can handle a large set of geometric configurations efficiently and robustly. In this appear, we propose a new approach to geometric constraint solving that employs a graph-based method to solve the ruler-and-compass constructible configurations and a numerical method to solve the ruler-and-compass non-constructible configurations, in a way that combines the advantages of both methods. The geometric constraint solving process consists of two phases: 1) planning phase and 2) execution phase. In the planning phase, a sequence of construction steps is generated by clustering the constrained geometric entities and reducing the constraint graph in sequence. in the execution phase, each construction step is evaluated to determine the geometric entities, using both approaches. By combining the advantages of the graph-based constructive approach with the universality of the numerical approach, the proposed approach can maximize the efficiency, robustness, and extensibility of geometric constraint solver.

Though many have studied choosing one of the alternative ways to reach a destination, the factors such as average road speed, distance, and number of traffic signals, traffic congestion, safety, and services still presents an indisputable challenge. This paper proposes two approaches: Appropriate membership function and ambiguous rule-based approach. It aims to tackle the route choice problem faced by almost all drivers in any city. It indirectly helps in tackling the problem of traffic congestion. The proposed approach considers the preference of each driver which is determined in a flexible way like a human and stored in the driver profile. These preferences relate to the criteria for evaluating each candidate route, considering the average speed, distance, safety, and services available. An illustrative case study demonstrates the added value of the proposed approach compared to some other approaches.
In this paper, a rule based Mamdani type fuzzy logic model for prediction of slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes were discussed. In the model steel rebar diameters and development lengths were used as inputs. The FL model and experimental results, the coefficient of determination R2, the Root Mean Square Error were used as evaluation criteria for comparison. It was concluded that FL was practical method for predicting slippage at maximum tensile strength and slippage at rupture of structural lightweight concretes.
