  • Expert systems using uncertain and ambiguous knowledge are not of the recent interests about uncertainty problem for performing inference similar to the decision making of a human expert. Human factors on rule-based systems often involve uncertain information. Expert systems had been used the methods of conflict resolution in a rule conflict situation, but this methods not properly solved the rule conflict. If a human expert appends a new rule to an original rule base, the rule base rightly causes a rule conflict. In this paper, the problem of rule conflict is regarded as one in which uncertainty of information is fundamentally involved. In the reduction of problem with uncertainty, we propose an enhanced rule ordering method, which improve the rule ordering method using Dempster-Shafer theory. We also propose a combinative index, which involve human factors of experts decision making.

  • Making traditional plan of target marketing based on Association Rule has brought restriction to obtain the target of marketing. This paper is to present Inverse Association Rule as a new association rule for target marketing. Inverse Association Rule does not use information about relation between items that customers purchase like Association Rule, but use information about relation between items that customers do not pruchase. By adding Inverse Association Rule to target marketing, we generate new marketing rule to look for new target of marketing. From new marketing rule, this paper is to show direct marketing about target item and indirect marketing about another item associated with target item to sell target item. The reason is that sales of the item associated with target item have an influence on sales of target item.

  • The measuring rule Is to extimate a size of a physical solid and its standard was each part of body since the beginning of the world. Korean traditional measuring rule was "Kyul Boo Sok Pa Bob". It bases on wreth of farm land and means a handful and a bundle. It was the real Korean traditional measuring rule though it was a influence on Chinese rule. And in Koguryo it had an effect on Japanese′s. In Chosun dynasty the King Sejong imprived the measuring rule and regylations in such a way to meet the realistic needs of civil lives. He put in good order by a proportions of the musical scale. It was one of fille correct ways to preserve the measuring rule and based on "Kyul Beo Sok Pa Bob"too. So ill that time the measuring rule for Korean traditional costume′s length was 46.703cm. In king Soonjo it′s length was 49.254cm and in 1926 it changed 50cm by the metric system. In 1990s the standard length has a difference in regions, 30cm, 45cm, 50cm, 54.5cm, 55cm and 60cm. As a result of the actual object investigation by regional measuring rule for Korean traditional costume it can reduce an accidental error when use the standard measuring rule, 50cm.

  • For better predictions and classifications in customer recommendation, this study proposes an integrative model that efficiently combines the currently-in-use statistical and artificial intelligence models. In particular, by integrating the models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction, this study suggests an integrative prediction model. Integrated models consist of four models: ASFM model which combines Association Rule(A) and Frequency Matrix(B), ASRI model which combines Association Rule(A) and Rule Induction(C), FMRI model which combines Frequency Matrix(B) and Rule Induction(C), and ASFMRI model which combines Association Rule(A), Frequency Matrix(B), and Rule Induction(C). The data set for the tests is collected from a convenience store G, which is the number one in its brand in S. Korea. This data set contains sales information on customer transactions from September 1, 2005 to December 7, 2005. About 1,000 transactions are selected for a specific item. Using this data set. it suggests an integrated model predicting whether a customer buys or not buys a specific product for target marketing strategy. The performance of integrated model is compared with that of other models. The results from the experiments show that the performance of integrated model is superior to that of all other models such as Association Rule, Frequency Matrix, and Rule Induction.

  • In the active databases, whenever an event occurs, active rules with the matching event specifications are triggered automatically, its action will be executed. Because these rules may in turn trigger other rules including themselves, the set of rules may be executing each other indefinitely. These problem can be solved by rule termination analysis, and it is efficient for the rule termination to execute in compile time of rule. In this paper we not only design rule compiler with rule termination analyzer, but also propose its execution model and algorithm. The completeness of proposed model is verified by algorithm formalization of rule termination analysis.

  • The Rule of False Position is known as an arithmetical solution of algebraical equations. On the other hand, the Excess-Deficit Rule is an algorithm for calculating about excessive or deficient quantitative relations, which is found in the ancient eastern mathematical books, including the nine chapters on the mathematical arts. It is usually said that the origin of the Rule of False Position is the Excess-Deficit Rule in ancient Chinese mathematics. In relation to these facts, we pose two questions: - As many authors explain, the excess-deficit rule is a solution of simultaneous linear equations? - Which relation is there between the two rules explicitly? To answer these Questions, we consider the Rule of Single/Double False Position and research the Excess-Deficit Rule in some ancient mathematical books of Chosun Dynasty that was heavily affected by Chinese mathematics. And we pursue their historical traces in Egypt, Arab and Europe. As a result, we can make sure of the status of the Excess-Deficit Rule differing from the Rectangular Arrays(the solution of simultaneous linear equations) and identify the relation of the two rules: the application of the Excess-Deficit Rule including supposition in ancient Chinese mathematics corresponds to the Rule of Double False Position in western mathematics. In addition, we try to appreciate didactical value of the Rule of False Position which is apt to be considered as a historical by-product.

  • A rule is defined as a case to determine the target values according to combination of various Business factors. The information system is used to represent enterprise's business, which includes and implements the amount of these rules to Rule-Based System. A Rule-Based System can be constructed by using the rules engine method or Relational Database technology. Because the rules engine method has some disadvantages, the Rule-Based System is mostly developed with Relational Database technology. When business scales become larger and more complex, a large number of various rule cases must be operated in system, and processing these rule cases requires additional time, overhead and storage space, and the speed of execution slows down. To solve these problems, we propose a simplification algorithm that converts a large amount of rule cases to simplification rule cases with same effects. The proposed algorithm is applied to hypothetical business rule data and a large number of simplification experiments and tests are conducted. The final results proved that the number of rows can be reduced to some extent. The proposed algorithm can be used to simplify business rule data for improving performance of the Rule-Based System implemented with the Relational Database.

  • Based on the exact quantization rule for the nonrelativistic Schrodinger equation, the exact quantization rule for the relativistic one-dimensional Klein-Gordon equation is suggested. Using the new quantization rule, the exact relativistic energies for exactly solvable potentials, e.g. harmonic oscillator, Morse, and Rosen-Morse II type potentials, are obtained. Consequently the new quantization rule is found to be exact for one-dimensional spinless relativistic quantum systems. Though the physical meanings of the new quantization rule have not been fully understood yet, the present formal derivation scheme may shed light on understanding relativistic quantum systems more deeply.

  • Association rule mining searches for interesting relationships among items in a given database. Association rules are frequently used by retail stores to assist in marketing, advertising, floor placement, and inventory control. There are three primary quality measures for association rule, support and confidence and lift. Association rule is an interesting rule among purchased items in transaction, but the negative association rule is an interesting rule that includes items which are not purchased. Boolean Analyzer is the method to produce the negative association rule using PIM. But, PIM is subjective. In this paper, we present statistical objective criterion in negative association rules using Boolean Analyzer.

  • This study investigated differences of display rule by age and gender and the effects of theory of mind and affective perspective taking on display rule. Subjects were 64 4- to 5-year old children. Instruments were false belief, appearance-reality distinction, affective perspective taking, gift-giving, and display rule understanding task. Findings were (1) Display rule understanding differed by age; older children understood the display rules better than younger children. (2) Theory of mind influenced positive display rule behavior. (3) Theory of mind and affective perspective taking had a significant effect on display rule understanding.
