To cope with increasing importance of water stress in food crop production, characteristics and cultivar differences in physiological responses of winter barley plants to water stress during seedling stage were studied employing three covered-barley, Milyang 12, Durubori, and Olbori, one naked-barley, Baekdong, and one two-row beer-barley, Hyangmaeg. Water stress was given to barley plants by withholding watering in soil-culture pots or by adding P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol, M. W. 4,000) to the nutrient culture solution. When water stress was imposed by withholding watering for 10 days to the seedlings grown in pot-soil for 10 days after emergence, leaf water potential of 5 cultivars was decreased almost to the same degree, from control -3.5 bar to the water stressed -26.6 bar. However, growth and some physiological responses were differently affected by cultivars: The plant height was decreased by 16-26% : seedling dry weight by 25∼42% ; chlorophyll content by 21∼39% ; second leaf survival rate by 8∼18% ; and free proline content per gram of leaf dry weight was increased from control 0.2∼0.5mg to the water stressed 5.8∼13.2mg. Drought resistances of 5 barley cultivars, based on the leaf survival rate and the decreased rate in seedling dry weight at the end of stress treatment, were high in the order of 3 covered-barley>naked-barley>two-row barley.

In order to determine the optimum planting density of Perilla frutescens which is suitable for the southern part of Korea, agronomic characters, yield of fresh stem, leaf and seed, and yield components were investigated grown in 1985 and 1986 at Mokpo Branch Station of Crop Experiment Station. The heading date was Aug. $14{\sim}15$ and the blooming period was Aug. $19{\sim}21$ regardless of the difference of plant density, but the longest stem length was 135cm in the plant density of $70{\time}40cm$ and the stem length in the plant density of $80{\time}40cm$ was 134cm. The quantity of fresh weight of stem and leaf and fresh weight of seed was high as 531kg/l0a in the plant density of $80{\time}40cm$. The positive correlation such as $0.7315^*,\;0.9024^{**}\;and\;0.7425^*$ were found between stem length and fresh weight of stem and leaf, stem length and fresh weight of seed, fresh weight of stem and leaf and fresh weight of seed and so high significance was recongnized. In the verification of significance of row spacing, the disperse of the stem length was $55.67^{**}$, that of fresh weight of stem and leaf is $268.50^*$, theat of fresh weight of seed was $16.00^{**}$ and high significance was recognized. In the verification of significance of intrarow spacing, the diperse of stem length was $54.21^{**}$, that of fresh weight of stem and leaf was $2,582.00^{**}$, that of fresh weight of seed was $48.00^{**}$ and then high significance was recognized. Accordingly, the proper plant density of perilla frutescens was 80cm of row $spacing{\time}40cm$ of intrarow spacing.

In this paper, we design a pattern generator and a fault position detector to implement the proposed fault test algorithms which are Column Weight Sensitive Fault (CWSF) test algorithm and bit line decoder fault test algorithm for performing the Built-In Self Test(BIST) in RAM. A pattern generator consists of an address generator and a data generator. An address generator is divided into a row address generator for effective address and a column address generator for sequential and parallel addresses. A fault position detector is designed to determine whether full occurred or not and to find the position of the fault. We verify the implemented circuits by the simulation.
Saved labor cost, energy conservation, reduced soil erosion, and increase of emergence rate would be expected from no-tillage cultivation of corn. Few research has been reported on the no-tillage effects for waxy corn hybrid. Five waxy com hybrids were tested under conventional and no-tillage practices to investigate responses of early growth, plant characters, ear characters, fresh yield, and grain yield. Emergence rates under no-tillage were lower than under conventional tillage. Plant heights at early growth stages under no-tillage were higher than those under conventional tillage. Plant height under no-tillage was higher than that under conventional tillage. There were no differences between conventional tillage and no-tillage for ear length, number of kernel rows, number of kernels per row, 100 kernels weight, fresh yield, and grain yield. This result indicates that no-tillage practice might be recommended for practical method for waxy com production. Days to tasseling and silking, plant height, ear height, ear length, and number of kernels per row were correlated with fresh and grain yields.
This study shows how the growth of the top part of plants cultivated using the single-row strawberry method, with 12 cm plant spacing, as well as that of plants cultivated through conventional planting, is characterized by the presence of many leaves in the first flower cluster harvest. The leaf area and crown diameter were the largest in the 12 cm spacing method. The hight top fresh weight (59.2 g) was detected wen the 12 cm spacing method was used followed by conventional planting and, 9 cm and 6 cm spacing method. The K and Ca contents in the first flower cluster were the highest when the 12 cm spacing method (2.0% and 2.1%, respectively) and conventional planting, (0.42% and 0.86%, respectively) were used, and these values were significantly higher than the K and Ca contents obtained using the other two methods. The N, P, Mg, Fe, and B contents show no significant differences across the planting methods. The sugar content of the first flower cluster fruits was the highest when the 12 cm spacing method was used, while the sugar content of the fourth flower cluster fruits was highest after conventional planting. Firmness was the highest in the first, third, and fourth flower clusters after conventional planting, while no significant differences were observed for the 6 cm, 9 cm, and 12 cm spacing methods. A yield of 25 g or above during November to December was observed to be the highest when the 12 cm spacing method was used, while a yield of 10-16 g was the highest when both the 9 cm and 12 cm spacing methods werw used. The yield of products in January-April was the highest when the 12 cm spacing and conventional planting methods were used, and total product yield was also the highest for these methods. A significant portion of non-marketable products (39 g) was obtained when the conventional planting method was used.

This study was investigated to find out the optimum planting densities of Scutellaria baicalensis GEORGE about growth characters, yield components and yield at 3 planting densities by direct sowing cultivated after barley Stem length was long In dense planting of 20$\times$10cm and short in spacious planting of 30$\times$10cm and 40$\times$10cm by direct sowing cultivated after barley. Stem diameter was thick in spacious planting of 30$\times$10cm and 40$\times$10cm and was thin in dense planting of 20$\times$cm by direct sewing cultivated after barley. Length and dry weight of root per plant were decreased in dense planting of 20$\times$10cm and were increased in spacious planting of 30$\times$10cm and 40$\times$10cm by direct sowing cultivated after barley. Yield of dry root was highest in optimum planting density(30$\times$10cm:33 plants/$m^2$) by direct sowing cultivated after barley. The correlation coefficient between number of planting plant and stem length showed highly positive correlation. These characters of stem diameter, number of branches, main root length and yield of dry root mentioned above showed negative correlations with planting plants.

In this paper proposes a stable marriage algorithm. The proposed algorithm firstly constructs an $n{\times}n$ matrix of men's and women's sum preference over opposite sex $p_{ij}$. It then repeatedly deletes row or column corresponding to the then maximum dispreference sum $_{max}p_{ij}$ until ${\forall}(|r_i|=1{\cap}|c_j|=1)$. If $|r_i|=1$ or $|c_j|=1$ then we select the $p_{ij}$ of $|r_i|=1$ or $|c_j|=1$ then the row or column values are deleted repeatedly until ${\forall}(|r_i|=1{\cap}|c_j|=1)$. When tested on 7 stable marriage problems, the proposed algorithm has proved to improve on the existing solutions.
Morphological characteristics of the topshell, Turbo cornutus Solander were studied on the basis of shell growth and fatness from April 1978 to October 1979. The Sampled areas were coastal waters of Jeju City, Seongsanpo, Moseulpo and Seogwipo in Jeju. The average shell length of the topshell from Jeju City area was smaller than those of the other three areas, and also the spine number of the 1st row on the shell from Jeju City area was fewer than the others. Sex ratios from each areas represented about 1:1. The relationship between shell length and shell breadth showed regression line and the value of slope for the specimen from Seongsanpo was the lowest. The relationship between shell length and total weight showed exponential curve, and the value was the highest in the specimens from Moseulpo. The value of slope on the relationship between total weight and meat weight was the highest in those from Moseulpo and the lowest from Jeju City. The regression line of relationship between total weight and meat freight in those if Jeju City area showed significant difference from those of the other areas.

HSS (high strength steel) is widely applied to reduce the weight but improve the strength in automobiles. This research has been peformed to secure a methodology to accurately predict the springback of HSS for successful tool and process designs in sheet stamping operations. We first peformed U-draw bending test to evaluate the springback characteristic. We then evaluated forming and springback processes using the 1-row model of the finite element method. Based on the peformance measure and parameters selected, extensive analyses of the factor effects on the springback have been made using experimental design concepts. We specifically selected Taguchi's orthogonal array, $L_{18}(2^1{\times}3^7)$, and the optimal level combination of the factors have been drawn from the analysis.
