초등예비교사의 '어림하기' 이해에 대한 고찰 (A Study on Elementary Pre-service Teacher's Understanding about 'Estimation')

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate and analyze the understandings of elementary pre-service teachers about 'estimation' in the elementary mathematics. Together with this analysis, we identify elementary pre-service teacher's Mathematical Pedagogical Contents Knowledge(MPCK), especially focusing to Subject Matter Knowledge(SMK). In order to this goals, we investigate contents relating to 'estimation' from $1^{st}$ curriculum to 2009 revised curriculum and compare 'rounding up', 'rounding off', 'rounding' in the elementary mathematics textbooks. As results of investigations, 'estimation' has been teaching at the 'Measurement' domain from $3^{rd}$ curriculum, but contexts of measuring weaken from $7^{th}$ curriculum. 'Rounding up(off)' is defined three types in the textbooks from $1^{st}$ to 2009 revised curriculum. And we examine elementary pre-service teachers through the questions on these 'estimation' contents. On the analysis of pre-service teacher's understanding relating MPCK, four themes is summarized as followings; the understanding of '0' in the 'rounding up', the cognitive gap between 'rounding up' and 'rounding off', the difference of percentage of correct answers according to types of question in the 'rounding up', and the difference between the definition of 'rounding up' and the definition of 'rounding'.

  • This paper studies the handling of significant digits and rounding off methods in domestic industries. ANOVA tables made by six well-known big companies are selected and analyzed. There exist various mistakes in handling of significant digits and rounding off methods such as: * too many significant digits in the Sum of Squares values in comparison to the original data * too many significant digits in the variance ratio in comparison to the F table values. * no consistancy in the number of significant digits * no consideration for the number of significant digits in computations * ignoring the KS A 0021 in rounding off methods etc. Such mistakes are caused from the characteristics of the personal computers rather than the misunderstandings about the significant digits conception. A subroutine is developed for PC in BASIC language to help the handling of significant digits and rounding off.

  • This paper proposes a Data-Flow-Graph (DFG) restructuring to reduce calculating errors in loop folding scheduling. The prime cause of calculating error is rounding errors due to the restriction of the operation digit of functional units. This rounding error is increased more by using multipliers than adders, so reducing the number of multiplications and putting off them as much as possible reduce rounding errors. The proposed approach reduces the number of multiplications by restructuring DFG in loop folding.

  • This paper describes a local modification capability on shell meshes, which can change a 'constant or variable radius of rounding for the s h q edges of the stamping die shoulder in the mesh. The algorithm consists of the followin_e three main steps; (1) the rounding area for sharp edges of a die shoulder are detected from the given shell mesh, (2) a rolling-ball surface with a given constant or variable radius is generated, which is contacti% with two incident face groups of the sharp edges, (3) the rounding area of the mesh is cut off, and a new mesh for the rolling-ball surface is generated and implanted into the gap. Owing to this rounding modification capability, CAE engineers can examine various cases based on the existing dies by scanning them to form polyhedral models and then changing radii of die shoulders for stamping process simulation.

H.264/AVC 비트스트림에서 썸네일 추출을 위한 새로운 방법 (A New Method for Thumbnail Extraction in H.264/AVC Bitstreams)

  • IPTV, DMB 등과 같은 방통융합 기반 멀티미디어 서비스에서는 고성능 비디오 인덱싱을 위한 썸네일 기술이 요구되므로 H.264/AVC 비트스트림으로부터 직접 썸네일을 추출하는 방법이 제안되었다. 그러나 화소 공간에서 정의한 일반화 수식을 주파수 공간으로 변환하는 과정에서 H.264/AVC에 정의된 변환 및 양자화, 그리고 인트라 예측의 반올림을 고려하지 않음으로써 썸네일 화질을 저하시키는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC 비트스트림에서의 새로운 썸네일 추출 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 H.264/AVC 핵심 변환을 기반으로 주파수 공간에서의 썸네일 추출 방법을 이론적으로 정리하고 확률적 방법으로 인트라 예측의 반올림 보상 방법을 제시한다. 제안한 방법을 통해 얻은 썸네일은 참조 복호화기를 통해 얻은 썸네일과 주관적 화질은 크게 차이 나지 않으며 이전에 제안된 방법과 비교하여 주관적 화질 향상과 최대 8.66 dB의 PSNR 이득을 얻었다.

  • 본 연구는 원형 용기에서 배수시 배수구멍의 위치가 중심선에서 벗어난 정도에 따른 배수율과 유동장의 변화를 이해하기 위하여 배수위치의 변화에 따른 배수흐름의 특성을 연구하였다. 이 연구의 목적은 서로 다른 위치의 배수구가 와류생성을 억제하는 원리에 대해 이해는 것이다. 원형 용기의 유동장을 가시화하기 위하여 PIV기법을 사용하였다. 그리고 배수가 있을 때와 없을 때에 대해, 각각 수직방향과 수평방향에서 결과를 얻었다.

  • This paper studies the computer programming of statistical methods. A few computer programs are developed for * computing the basic statistics and the coefficients of process capability for raw and grouped data * drawing the frequency table and histogram * goodness of fit testing for normality with the analyses for stratifications if necessary. A special emphasis is laid on the significant digits and rounding-off for the output. A running result appears in the Appendix for a hypothetical example.

보강재의 부착방법의 따른 물리적 거동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Physical Behavior Property of R/C Beams Strengthened with Bonding Methods)

  • In this research, we made an experiment on the 10 specimen beams that we made. The specimen beams consist of 4 steel plate strengthening beams and 5 carbon fiber sheet strengthening beams. We applied the methods of notch, rounding off a edge, anchor bolt and side shear strengening to the steel plate and for the case of carbon fiber sheet, we applied the methods of anchor bolt, line anchor and shear strengthening. After all the cases were applied, the beams was measured and analyzed about the behavior property of strengthened beams, th ability of strengthening method, the relation between load and the shape of failure, the crack load, the yield load, the shape of crack pattern, the increasing rate from yield load and maximum load and the strain of rebar. All the strengthening methods resulted in almost same value until the yield load, and it wasn't quite different from the theoretical value. In comparison with existing method, the SER, SEAS for the steel plate and the CEA, CESS, CCESS for carbon fiber sheet showed the increasement of ductility with big displacement.

  • This paper studies computer programming for Two-Way Layout with Multiple Observations - Fixed Model using the subroutines of the former paper. The following items are considered in the PC computer programming: * significant digits in the computation of Sum of Squares * containing the necessary F-distribution values in the program * including the necessary estimation after the Analysis of Variance * following the rules of KS A 0021 in rounding off digits etc. The running results of Analysis of Variation Table and Estimations of a fictitious example is added with the parts of PC program. It should be mentioned that the main purpose of this paper is in the arousing of the discussion about significant digits concept in the PC computer programming for various kinds of Statistical Methods.

  • In this paper, the method to register multiple sets of skull CT images to absolute coordinate system is proposed. Contrary to correspondence paired mapping of previous techniques, four anatomical landmark points, three coplanar points and one non-coplanar point, compose three principal axes simple and unique for efficient registration by means of rigid body transformation. Throughout the numerical simulation with added random noises, the error performances in terms of different rotation and rounding-off of landmark points, and incorrect localization of anatomical landmark and target points are quantitatively analyzed to generalize the proposed technique. Experiments using real skull CT images demonstrate the feasibility for an efficient use in clinical practice.
