  • Sungkyunkwan was the highest national education institute of confucianism in the Chosun dynasty. from the historical view of foodservice in Korea, Sungkyunkwan dining room(進士食堂) might be the oldest systematized school foodservice and it was thought that the Korean word of dining room(食堂) was originated from this. The Sungkyunkwan dining room was built in the period of King Tae-jong(太宗) in 1413 and developed during 500 years through the Chosun dynasty. The dining room was not only an eating place but also providing the specific food culture of students. About 200 students studied in Sungkyunkwan and they lived together, and the government of the dynasty made many rules and by-laws to regulate them. Wonjeom(圓點) regulation was one of them. Wonjeom(圓點) was recorded in the register of attendance(到記) in the dining room and the students could obtain 1 point if they attended at the dining room in the morning and the evening in one day. If the students did not obtain the certain points of Wonjeom, they were not qualified for the national examination(大科). And there were so many eating customs and self-regulations in the dining room they were referred in many literatures, such as ${\ulcorner}$the true records of the Chosun dynasty(朝鮮王朝實錄)${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Taehak-Ji(太學志)${\lrcorner}$ and ${\ulcorner}$Banjungiabyoung${\lrcorner}$. • The room modes were showed as the peaks and dips on the low frequency response of the loudspeaker, and were one of the biggest obstacles to reproduce the sound. In order to reduce the occurrence of resonance, equalizing is performed at one position, and the frequency response to be equalized is valid only at that position. Performing the equalization would improve the flatness of the frequency response a little, but it cannot eliminate the ringing. Another method is that it is located the speaker at the specific position where the room resonances were not frequently happened. However, there may be the practical limitation that you may not be able to install the speaker at the position to be wanted. One of the practical solutions to decrease the production of resonance in room is the use of bass trap. In this paper, the practical limit for the room tuning using an equalizer and the room optimization will be discussed. The use of bass traps to solve the resonance problem that is always happened in the room is also proposed.

  • This thesis analyzed arrangement and mixture method of function elements, which are getting more important in museum planning. It used quantitative method, Space Syntax and Visibility Graph Analysis tool to analyze five case museums. Through this analysis, advantages and disadvantages of two methods were derived and case museums' arrangement and mixture attributes were grasped. Results of the analysis were derived differently by two kinds of plan form which were room to room type and open type. Open typed museum recorded similar graphs of Integration, Visual Integration and Visual Connectivity. Since whole space structures were relatively simple and structure of exhibition halls were opened, the results of Space Syntax and Visibility Graph Analysis had similar graphs. Room to room typed museum showed differences in Integration, Visual Integration and Visual Connectivity. In the result, the most accessible space was lobby and Mediation Space became the center of visibility. Also, the exhibition hall, where the opening of room to room typed exhibition hall was penetrated visually, became a center of visibility. Lobby space, which was close to entrance, had the highest Visibility Connectivity. As Space Syntax could analyze the museum as whole space structure, Space Syntax showed strength in room to room typed museum analysis compared to open typed museum analysis which has relatively simple structure. Visibility Graph Analysis could expect the flow of exhibit distance including visibility analysis unlike the flow of exhibit distance with space arrangement. The exhibition hall, which secures the sight to penetration of an opening, couldn't be analyzed in existing Space Syntax. However, it became the biggest advantages in Visibility Graph Analysis of room to room typed museum. Visibility Graph Analysis derived detailed results in exhibit arrangement so it will be the useful method not only for architecture but also for planning of exhibit arrangement in open typed museum. Through this study, various possibilities on Quantitative Analysis Method of Museum Architecture could be verified. However, the analysis still has limitation of second dimension. Therefore, diverse and liberal following study will be expected to accomplish.

  • A coupled room system consists of adjacent rooms and apertures where the sound energy is exchanged between the two rooms. Acoustically, a coupled room system shows a non-exponential decay profile. Most of the related researches have been to analyze the acoustic properties of two-room coupled system so far whereas three-room coupled system were seldom studied. In this regard, this paper aims to analyse the distribution of sound pressure level, sound decay curve of three-room coupled system and sound energy flow between them by using the acoustic diffusion model and to further verify them through experiments. Firstly, the sound pressure level distribution and mean sound pressure level in the steady-state condition are analyzed at various frequencies and source locations. Good agreements are observed in both experiments and analysis results. Secondly, two double slope effect quantifiers of sound attenuation, LDT/EDT and LDT/T10 are compared at various frequencies and for different source locations. The result indicates that LDT/T10, less affected by the early reflection patterns than LDT/EDT, is more suitable to the analysis and experiments of a multi-slope sound decay curve. Lastly, the sound energy flow in each room is analyzed based on the acoustic diffusion model. After the early decay stage, the sound energy is observed to flow from the room with a long reverberation time to the room with a short one.
