The national curriculum includes the problem solving process, algorithms, and programming of SW education. The education using robots is one of attractive alternatives for students who have no interest of SW or are poor at programming. We have developed a courseware using robots for SW education based on paper art activities with narrative storytelling to enhance students' creative thinking and problem solving within limitation of class time in schools. We apply the courseware and obtained the result of pre and post-test on the creative problem solving ability of third graders in the elementary school The four factors of creative problem solving have shown significantly increase. In addition, it had an significant effects for understanding robot technology and for learning attitude using robots of SW or programming.

Various methods of Smart education were tested on students in Elementary and Middle schools, as Smart learning expands. In this paper, we analyzed a Smart r- Learning-teaching model that utilizes Bluetooth and Class SNS, for students. We focused on all aspects that students found easy to program, on controlling the Bluetooth-connected robot with a smartphone, as well as on a diversity of opinions related to using Class SNS in the robot class without time constraints. Subsequently, we attempted to apply the developed a Smart r-Learning program to the classes of students, We undertook a t-test for students to find out whether it helped them enhance their creative thinking and investigated their satisfaction with the class. As a result, the study showed that students' satisfaction with a Smart r-Learning class is exceptionally high, at 96%, and students' creative thinking and programming skills in order to control improved markedly.

In this paper, we propose a improved control performance for autonomous mobile robot using the embeded system. The proposed PID(PPID) control method removes steady state error, and has good performance in transient response. The integral term in the proposed method accumulates error in increment section, inverses errors in decrement section, and increases the effect of integral coefficient around target. Therefore, the PPID control method decreases the overshoot, and makes settling time faster than general PID(GPID) control method. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method(PPID), we simulated the position control of DC motor, and experimented the velocity control of autonomous mobile robot. The PPID control method demonstrated good control performance that decrease overshoot and settling time in simulation and experiments.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the changes in foot contact area and pressure when walking with a functional insole that emphasizes the Hallux point as compared to a general insole. Methods: In this study, an experiment was conducted to investigate changes in plantar pressure and contact area for a functional insole that emphasized the Hallux point as compared to a general insole. A lower extremity robot was used for walking reproduction. First, the gait sequence according to the two insoles was determined through a randomized controlled trial comparison. According to the sequence procedure, the insole was attached to the shoe and then worn on the right side of the lower extremity robot for gait reproduction at a normal gait speed of 20 steps per minute. After programming the robot to walk, the experiment was carried out. The result value was determined by averaging the pressure and area data of the fore and rear foot measures after walking at 20 steps per minute. Results: The functional insole that emphasized the hallux point significantly increased the forefoot and rearfoot contact area (p < 0.05) and significantly decreased the forefoot and rearfoot contact pressure (p < 0.05) compared to the general insole. Conclusion: A functional insole that emphasizes the hallux point does not collapse the medial longitudinal arch during gait, increasing foot stability and reducing fatigue. Thus, this functional insole needs to be widely used clinically.
PIC (Piecewise Integrated Composite) is a new concept for designing a composite structure with mosaically assigning various types of stacking sequences in order to improve mechanical properties of laminated composites. Also, machine learning is a sub-category of artificial intelligence, that refers to the process by which computers develop the ability to continuously learn from and make predictions based on data, then make adjustments without further programming. In the present study, the tapered box beam type PIC robot arm for carrying and transferring wide and thin LCD display was designed based on the machine learning in order to increase structural stiffness. Essential training data were collected from the reference elements, which were intentionally designated elements among finite element models, during preliminary FE analysis. Additionally, triaxiality values for each finite element were obtained for judging the dominant external loading type, such as tensile, compressive or shear. Training and evaluating machine learning model were conducted using the training data and loading types of elements were predicted in case the level accuracy was fulfilled. Three types of stacking sequences, which were to be known as robust toward specific loading types, were mosaically assigned to the PIC robot arm. Henceforth, the bending type FE analysis was carried out and its result claimed that the PIC robot arm showed increased stiffness compared to conventional uni-stacking sequence type composite robot arm.
