In this study, we analyzed lateral behavior of connected foundation for transmission tower in clay. For this study, we performed model lateral load test, measured load-displacement curve of connected foundation. For the tests, we manufactured connected foundation model that consider a change of rigidity, installed various measuring sensors for understanding of elements and general foundation behavior. From the test results, we measured load capacities using various methods, compared and analyzed these capacities.

Dendronized linear polymers have recently come forward as new materials for nanoscale applications. These "molecular cylinders" may be modified with specific chemical makeup, rigidity, surface decoration, and backbone properties much like their spherical analogs, dendrimers. There exist three main synthetic pathways to yield dendronized polymers: (i) graft-to; (ii) graft-from; and (iii) macromonomer. We present an efficient "graft-to" approach towards dendronized microstructures utilizing click chemistry. With the capacity to manipulate their chemical composition, these dendronized structures have already found broad use in site-isolation for catalysis, nanolithography and organic light emitting diodes. These and other potential applications of these materials will be also presented.
The elastic buckling load or strength of a concentrically loaded slender metal column may be increased many times by reinforcing it with an assemblage of pretensioned stays and rigidity connected crossarm members. The complete system is herein referred to as a 'stayed column'. The purpose of the pretensioned stays and crossarm members is to introduce, at several points along the length of the column, restraint against translation and rotation and thereby decrease the effective unsupported buckling length of the column. This paper verifies that pretensioned cable of stayed column is effective for cyclic load and increases strength of shear wall against earthquake by reinforcing side of wall. Design process of stayed column which satisfies demanded capacity and ductility of wall is presented by analyzing result of experiment.
I-section prestressed concrete(I-PC) beam crack due to low tensile strength, may decrease rigidity and structural performance by excessive deflection. In an effort to this problem, in this research, I-section prestressed dual concrete(I-PDC) beam has been proposed, consisting of normal strength concrete in compression zone, and high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete(HPSFRC) with a bottom flange depth in tensile zone. Crack formation and its propagation are controlled by the HPSFRC in I-PDC beam. The initial cracking and service limit loads are increased along with the load carrying capacity and flexural stiffness.
In order to analyze the tailorbility of different fabrics for men's suit, FAST system has been used for measuring the distribution of mechanical properties in this study. As results, cashmere mixed woolen fabrics showed the minimum degree in relaxation shrinkage, formability, and shear rigidity than any other fabrics, and also showed more than 6% as maximum level of extensibility. Thus, cashmere mixed woolen fabrics requires careful tailoring in lay-out, marking, and cutting. It is necessary to establish new tailoring criteria for automatic sewing with cashmere mixed woolen fabrics than any other fabrics, because they show more failure rate of tailorbility. There have been noticeably more variation of shrinkage and extension for woolen fabrics with cashmere mixed than 100% woolen fabrics by evaluating the formability of the suits when these are completed to suits through cutting and tailoring from fabrics. Especially nylon mixed woolen fabrics showed shrinkage overall, but polyester mixed woolen fabrics showed extension at waist area. Thus, it is necessary to adjust the appropriate overfeed rate considering the amount of shrinkage and extension while tailoring.
Modern trend in structural design is to use smaller elements in order to ensure several purposes such as economy, functionality and aesthetic in appearance. However, because of decreasing rigidity of the structural elements, the system displacements increases and displacements become an important subject in this kind of structures takes into account both geometrical changes and the carrying capacity of the material after linear-elastic boundary. In this study, a method is proposed to calculate the failure loads and to analyse the reinforced concrete space frame systems. The numerical examples gathered from the literature survey are solved with this method utilising the prepared computer program and the comparable results are presented. The results show that the method is sufficiently accurate.
The PCS system, which consists of precast concrete column and steel beam, has been developed. The system is expected to achieve the effectiveness in the constructability and improve the structural performance under earthquake. New types of joint system for the panel zon and column connection has been developed in order to improve the shear strength capacity and rigidity of the of the system. The cyclic seismic test recommended by ACI was conducted to verify the structural performance of the system. As a test results, it is observed that the system satisfy most of the requirements by ACI criteria.
This study presents results from an experimental work for two normal prestressed concrete beams and three dual prestressed concrete beams. The dual prestressed concrete beams made with normal concrete in compression zone and high performance steel fiber reinforced concrete in partial depth of tension zone. Through cyclic loading test under low frequency, structural behavior and resistance to dynamic loading for dual prestressed concrete beams are investigated. Considerable increase of crack and yield load capacity of Dual prestressed concrete beam is shown compared with normal prestressed concrete beam. In addition, re-loading and un-loading rigidity of dual prestressed concrete beam under cyclic loading are increased comparing with normal prestressed concrete beam.
The truss based steel bridge structures usually consists of gusset plates which lose their load carrying capacity and rigidity under the effect of repeated and dynamics loads. This paper is focused on modeling the nonlinear material behavior of the gusset plates of the Truss Based Bridges subjected to dynamics loads. The nonlinear behavior of material is characterized by a damage coupled elsto-plastic material models. A truss bridge finite element model is established in Abaqus with the details of the gusset plates and their connections. The nonlinear finite element analyses are performed to calculate stress and strain states in the gusset plates under different loading conditions. The study indicates that damage initiation occurred in the plastic deformation localized region of the gusset plates where all, diagonal, horizontal and vertical, truss member met and are critical for shear type of failure due tension and compression interaction. These findings are agreed with the analytical and experimental results obtained for the stress distribution of this kind gusset plate.
To have a better understanding of the torsional mechanism and influencing factors of PC composite box-girder with corrugated steel webs, ultimate torsional strength of four specimens under pure torsion were analyzed with Model Test Method. Monotonic pure torsion acts on specimens by eccentric concentrated loading. The experimental results show that cracks form at an angle of $45^{\circ}$ to the member's longitudinal axis in the top and bottom concrete slabs. Longitudinal reinforcement located in the center of cross section contributes little to torsional capacity of the specimens. Torsional rigidity is proportional to shape parameter ${\eta}$ of corrugation and there is an increase in yielding torque and ultimate torque of specimens as the thickness of corrugated steel webs increases.
