  • The purpose of this study was to identify the college students' images of Nurses. Data were collected by open-ended questionnaire. 326 subjects were composed of nursing students and non nursing students who attended in universities and junior colleges at Pusan, Kyung-buk, and Chung-buk from April 30 to May 31, 1995. Collected data were analyzed by all researchers. Statements were categorized and endowed with Key meaning. The results were 1. Positive images of nurses were classified into 21 categories. They were , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , . 2. Among the positive images categories, statements about the were the most. Statements about , , , were a lot. 3. 가정과 교육에서 서비스 러닝 활성화를 위한 주생활 영역 교과목 활동 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of Housing and Interior Design Courses Work for the Promotion of Service-Learning in Home Economics Education)

  • This study develops and applies a service learning course that integrates university curriculum with the local community in housing and interior design. The results of the study are as follows. First, the service learning course of the housing and interior design was developed as a six-week lecture based on the project model with the theme of housing for the socially disadvantaged. Second, this course was implemented with faculty, students, interior designers, and service recipients to engage in activities to improve the educational environment of local child centers. Next, students engaged in the service learning course and continuously conducted reflection activities to enhance the effectiveness of learning. In reflection activities, students assessed that self-directed capabilities increased as has employing the coordination and applicability to meet identified community needs. Finally, faculty, students, and experts (including institutional experts and supervising departments) evaluated course practice and educational outcomes. Experts assessed that the course clarified course objectives, utilized various learning strategies, and showed that the structural reflection mode of learners and professors was overwhelmingly positive. The results indicated that service-learning courses enable students to integrate academic study with social work to better understand course content through direct engagements in experience learning. Furthermore, students are empowered by participation in public services that benefit service clients and consultants as students take more personal responsibility for learning.

간호사의 치매노인 말기 돌봄에 대한 경험 (Nurses' Experiences of End of Life Care of Older Adults with Dementia)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand the nurses' experiences of end of life care of older adults with dementia living in long-term care hospitals and geriatric care facilities. Methods: The participants were nine nurses. Open in-depth interviews were used to collect data from June, 2016 to November, 2016. Colaizzi's phenomenological approach was used to analyze the data. Results: Three categories were identified. The nurses' reported experiences of end of life care of older adults with dementia were 'warm care with living together', 'care for family', and the 'self-reflection and responsibility as a nurse'. There were ten clusters of themes and 24 themes. The participants stated that the end of life care of older adults with dementia were individualized holistic care with dignity, being in older adults with dementia and family, and responsibility as a professional. Nurses reported the need for dementia hospice care. Conclusion: These results could be considered in planning nursing intervention for hospice care. The findings support the need for educational strategies and programs to improve end of life care among older adults with dementia.

Qualitative content analysis of journals of cadaver practice experiences in nursing students

  • This study attempted to identify the experiences of nursing students' participation in cadaver practice and provide a basis for understanding students' experiences in cadaver practice, which can be reflected in the development of programs for them. By applying the content analysis method according to the guidelines by Krippendorff to analyze the meaning of the experience of participating in cadaver practice among 80 nursing students who participated in cadaver practice at K University in W-si, Gangwon-do, a total of 4 areas, 13 categories, and 25 meaningful statements were derived. The categories included "worried," "surprised," and "fear" in the anxiety domain; "interesting," "knowing," and "focused" in the immersion domain; "value of life," "gratitude and remembrance," "thinking about donation," "facing death," and "precious body" in the reflection domain; and "motivation" and "sense of accomplishment" in the growth domain. The results of this study will help to understand the physical and psychological reactions that nursing students may experience during cadaver practice, and will provide a basis for developing various strategies such as counseling, education, and reflection programs in conjunction with cadaver practice to help nursing students cope with stress, develop a sense of ethical responsibility, and develop a positive self-image as nursing students in order to be successful in cadaver practice. This study is also significant because it provides a basis for preventive program interventions for experiences related to the negative effects of cadaver practice.

예비과학교사의 과학사 강좌 봉사-학습(Service-Learning) 운영 사례 연구 (Case Study of Service-Learning Linked to 'History of Science' Lecture for Pre-service Science Teachers)

  • 봉사-학습(Service-Learning : S-L)은 교육과정과 봉사활동을 연계하여 반성적 성찰과 상호 호혜의 가치를 통해 학생들의 학업능력과 사회적 책임의식을 함양할 수 있는 경험학습 기반의 교수-학습 방법이다. 본 연구는 예비과학교사들을 대상으로 '과학사 및 과학탐구' 강좌를 S-L으로 운영한 사례를 분석했다. 과학사 전공 교과목과 연계된 S-L 강좌는 '준비-실행-평가'의 3단계 과정으로 진행되었고, 3개 학교를 대상으로 5회 실시하였다. 수업관찰과 자기 보고 형식의 성찰 일지, 설문지 등을 수집하여 S-L에 대한 교육적 효과를 분석했다. 예비과학교사들은 S-L을 통해 과학사에서 배운 지식을 학생들에게 가르치는 교육봉사를 통해 학교 현장을 이해하고, 수업역량과 교수적 내용 지식을 배울 수 있었다. S-L 수업에 참여한 예비과학교사들은 많은 학습 시간에 대한 부담과 수업 준비의 어려움, 수업에 대한 두려움과 시행착오 등으로 힘든 강좌였지만, S-L에 대한 만족도에서 대부분의 학생들이 매우 만족(4.68) 하였고, 교직에 대한 효능감(4.14)이 높았다.

통일 신라 왕조의 자연재해 인식-자연사상을 중심으로 (Recognition of Natural Disasters in the Unified Shilla Dynasty - Focusing on the Natural Thoughts -)

  • 본 연구에서는 고대 통일신라의 천재지변 중 자연재해(지변) 기록만을 발췌하여 삼국사기 신라 본기(A.D.668-935)를 중심으로 그 내용을 분석하였다. 가뭄과 기근 40회, 지진 40회, 우박 12회, 서리 10회, 천둥, 번개 9회, 큰 눈과 추위 9회, 큰 바람 8회, 홍수 7회, 황충 7회, 화재 6회, 수질오염 5회, 황사 3회, 이상기상으로 인해 재해 3회, 안개 2회, 용오름 현상 1회, 이조(鳥)출현 1회 등 총 163회가 발생하였다. 따라서 지변 현상에 따른 당시의 자연사상을 종합해 보면 다음과 같다. 당시의 사람들은 이러한 천견(天譴)에 대하여 군주가 책기수덕(責己修德)의 차원에서 피정전(避正殿), 감상선(感常膳), 여수대사(慮囚大赦) 등의 수덕(修德), 인정(仁政)과 더불어 백관의 상소를 받는 것이 관행화되고 있었음을 추정할 수 있다. 이처럼 통일 신라에서는 천재지변으로 인하여 여러 가지 책기수덕(責己修德)과 함께 민생안정을 정상화하여야 한다는 천견설의 전형을 구현하고 있는 자연인식(自然認識)으로 파악할 수 있다.

읽기 자료를 활용한 수업에서 나타난 수학적 의사소통과 수학적 성향 및 태도 분석 (The Effects of Lessons Using Reading Materials on Mathematical Communication, Disposition and Attitudes)

  • The purpose of this study was providing implications in teaching and learning activities to vitalize mathematical communication and to raise positive attitudes about mathematics. We analyzed mathematical communication, disposition and attitudes of the students who had lower mathematical achievement rather than that of Korean language in class using reading materials and strategies. We found that teaching-learning activities using the reading materials and strategies let the low achievers in mathematics communicate more about mathematical notions and problem-solving process actively. The activities triggered interests and attention of mathematics and self-study. In addition, the lessons with reading materials and strategies aroused confidence, will and responsibility to mathematics learning to the students. They made the learners notice mathematics' values and roles and gave the opportunity of reflection about students' learning processes. As a result, the teaching-learning using reading materials and strategies should be developed and accomplished actively in classroom to turn mathematical inclination and attitudes of the students who had had negative inclination and attitudes to mathematics into those of positive and to vitalize mathematical communication to the lower achievers in mathematics.

서비스러닝자기주도 학습과의 관계 (Relationship Between Service Learning And Self-Directed Learning)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 서비스러닝을 통한 교실 안의 학습이 지역사회에 실용적으로 전이될 수 있는 자기주도 학습과의 관계를 탐구하는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 2019년 9월 1일부터 2019년 12월28일까지 교양 과목 수강 학생을 대상으로 하였다. 본 논문의 연구 문제는 서비스러닝 기반 교양수업과 자기주도 학습과의 관계는 어떠한가? 즉, 서비스러닝 기반 교양수업이 자기주도 학습의 하위 요소인 개방성, 자율성, 문제해결력, 자기평가에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가이다. 그렇다면 학습자 개인의 변인은 자기주도 학습 능력에 어떻게 영향을 미칠 수 있는지를 알아보고자했다. 연구결과, 자율성과 문제해결능력 r=.66으로 높은 상관관계를 보여주었고, 개방성과 자기평가(r=.60) 자율성과 자기평가(r=.55)가 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계의 결과를 가져왔다. 서비스러닝에 있어서의 학습자 자율성은 서비스러닝 활동의 학습 촉진 및 협력과 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다(**p<.01) 이 연구의 결과를 통해, 향후 학생들은 자기가 학습한 내용을 심화하여 지역사회기관 봉사를 통해 실천하고 경험하며 학교에서의 배움이 강의실에 머물러 있지 않고 사회로 환원이 가능한 개방성, 자율성, 봉사의 실천을 통해 실질적 세계에서 부딪칠 수 있는 문제해결 그리고 성찰을 통한 자기평가가 가능하다. 또한 학습자들은 사회 구성원으로서의 책임감과 민주시민으로서의 자존감을 고취 시킬 수 있었다.

문제중심 학습방법을 적용한 의사소통론 교과목 개발 및 적용 (A Study of Development and Implementation of Problem-based Learning Program in Communication Curriculum of Nursing Education)

  • Recently, in the academic disciplines critical thinking has been emphasized as the new evolution in education. Problem-based learning is suggested as the evolutionary learning method in developing critical thinking. In the nursing education, PBL is offered as an appropriate teaching method to prepare nurse student for professional. PBL is a student-centered learning strategy aimed at developing critical thinking, motivating self-directed study and attaining autonomy. The purpose of this study was to develop the communication curriculum of nursing education based on PBL and implementing of it. PBL module was developed focused on five communication situations. And learning strategies to facilitate the learning process and the guided questions to stimulate student inquiry were also developed. This PBL education was conducted for six students in the master's course during the 14 weeks from March, 2000 to June, 2000. The outcomes of the PBL education were examined based on the content analysis of the students reflective journal. As a result, it was found that students experienced the effect of it focused on self-oriented, group-oriented, and practice-oriented domain. In the self-oriented domain, the findings indicate that there were 5 kinds of concepts including 'motivation for self-directed study', 'transition toward certainty in knowledge acquisition', 'attempt to apply their prior knowledge into new situation', 'enhancement of self-image in real situation', 'self-growth with self reflection'. In the group-oriented domain, there were 3 kinds of concepts including 'cognitive work in group', 'perception of co-responsibility in attaining learning objectives', 'socialization with group members'. In the practice-oriented domain, there were 3 kinds of concepts including 'linkage theoretical knowledge with real situation', 'attempt to apply in real situation', 'development problem solving skill in real situation'. In conclusion, PBL had a significant effect on self, group, and clinical domain. And assessing PBL outcomes is challenging because standardized instrument do not develop yet. So the findings of this study can suggest the basic data for examining the PBL outcome.

저소득층 암환자들의 심리사회적 적응 과정 (Psychosocial Adjustment of Low-Income Koreans with Cancer)

  • Purpose: To describe psychosocial adjustment of low-income Koreans who have cancer. Methods: Data were collected during 2008 using individual in-depth interviews with 18 Korean people with cancer. The income status of the participants was low, 11 were recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Protection program. Mean age was 58.3 yr and 11 were female. Five participants had stomach cancer, five, colorectal cancer, and four, breast cancer. Data were analyzed using grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category emerged as 'bearing up alone with double suffering'. 'Poverty and cancer: A double suffering' emerged as a causal condition. The adjustment process consisted of three stages: 'forming a treatment will to live', 'practicing for the cure', and 'restructuring self and repaying favors'. Each stage indicated action-interaction strategies which were employed to bear up alone with double suffering during the illness process. Self-reflection, parental responsibility, and support from the public sector played important roles in overcoming the double suffering. Two types of consequences were identified: Transcended life and strained life suppressed by poverty and cancer. Conclusion: The results provide insights into the psychosocial adjustment process for low income Korean with cancer and can be used in developing and implementing efficient home-care services for these people.
