For the mobile edge computing (MEC) system supporting dense network, a joint allocation algorithm of computing and communication resources based on reinforcement learning is proposed. The energy consumption of task execution is defined as the maximum energy consumption of each user's task execution in the system. Considering the constraints of task unloading, power allocation, transmission rate and calculation resource allocation, the problem of joint task unloading and resource allocation is modeled as a problem of maximum task execution energy consumption minimization. As a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem, it is difficult to be directly solve by traditional optimization methods. This paper uses reinforcement learning algorithm to solve this problem. Then, the Markov decision-making process and the theoretical basis of reinforcement learning are introduced to provide a theoretical basis for the algorithm simulation experiment. Based on the algorithm of reinforcement learning and joint allocation of communication resources, the joint optimization of data task unloading and power control strategy is carried out for each terminal device, and the local computing model and task unloading model are built. The simulation results show that the total task computation cost of the proposed algorithm is 5%-10% less than that of the two comparison algorithms under the same task input. At the same time, the total task computation cost of the proposed algorithm is more than 5% less than that of the two new comparison algorithms.
Increasing convergence among heterogeneous radio networks is expected to be a key feature of future ubiquitous services. The convergence of radio networks in combination with dynamic spectrum allocation (DSA) could be a beneficial means to solve the growing demand for radio spectrum. DSA might enhance the spectrum utilization of involved radio networks to comply with user requirements for high-quality multimedia services. This paper proposes a simple spectrum allocation algorithm and presents an analytical model of dynamic spectrum resource allocation between two networks using a 4-D Markov chain. We argue that there may exist a break-even point for choosing whether or not to adopt DSA in a system. We point out certain circumstances where DSA is not a viable alternative. We also discuss the performance of DSA against the degree of resource sharing using the proposed analytical model and simulations. The presented analytical model is not restricted to DSA, and can be applied to a general resource sharing study.

The rapid development of mobile communication not only has made the industry gradually diversified, but also has enhanced the service quality requirements of users. In this regard, it is imperative to consider jointly network slicing and mobile edge computing. The former mainly ensures the requirements of varied vertical services preferably, and the latter solves the conflict between the user's own energy and harsh latency. At present, the integration of the two faces many challenges and need to carry out at different levels. The main target of the paper is to minimize the energy consumption of the system, and introduce a multi-slice joint task offloading and resource allocation scheme for massive multiple input multiple output enabled heterogeneous networks. The problem is formulated by collaborative optimizing offloading ratios, user association, transmission power and resource slicing, while being limited by the dissimilar latency and rate of multi-slice. To solve it, assign the optimal problem to two sub-problems of offloading decision and resource allocation, then solve them separately by exploiting the alternative optimization technique and Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions. Finally, a novel slices task offloading and resource allocation algorithm is proposed to get the offloading and resource allocation strategies. Numerous simulation results manifest that the proposed scheme has certain feasibility and effectiveness, and its performance is better than the other baseline scheme.

In this paper, the resource allocation problem with proportional fairness rate in cognitive OFDM-based wireless network is studied. It aims to maximize the total system throughput subject to constraints that include total transmit power for secondary users, maximum tolerable interferences of primary users, bit error rate, and proportional fairness rate among secondary users. It is a nonlinear optimization problem, for which obtaining the optimal solution is known to be NP-hard. An efficient bio-inspired suboptimal algorithm called immune clonal optimization is proposed to solve the resource allocation problem in two steps. That is, subcarriers are firstly allocated to secondary users assuming equal power assignment and then the power allocation is performed with an improved immune clonal algorithm. Suitable immune operators such as matrix encoding and adaptive mutation are designed for resource allocation problem. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves near-optimal throughput and more satisfying proportional fairness rate among secondary users with lower computational complexity.

It is well-known that virtualization technology can bring many benefits not only to users but also to service providers. From the view of system security and resource utility, higher resource sharing degree and higher system reliability can be obtained by the introduction of virtualization technology in distributed cloud. The small size time-sharing multiplexing technology which is based on virtual machine in distributed cloud platform can enhance the resource utilization effectively by server consolidation. In this paper, the concept of memory block and user satisfaction is redefined combined with user requirements. According to the unbalanced memory resource states and user preference requirements in multi-virtual machine environments, a model of proper memory resource allocation is proposed combined with memory block and user satisfaction, and at the same time a memory optimization allocation algorithm is proposed which is based on virtual memory block, makespan and user satisfaction under the premise of an orderly physical nodes states also. In the algorithm, a memory optimal problem can be transformed into a resource workload balance problem. All the virtual machine tasks are simulated in Cloudsim platform. And the experimental results show that the problem of virtual machine memory resource allocation can be solved flexibly and efficiently.

With the rapid development of information and communications technology, the construction of efficient, reliable, and safe Internet of Things (IoT) is an inevitable trend in order to meet high-quality demands for the forthcoming 6G communications. In this paper, we study a secure intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted IoT system where malicious eavesdropper trying to sniff out the desired information from the transmission links between the IRS and legitimate IoT devices. We discuss the system overall performance and propose a hybrid resource allocation scheme for maximizing the secrecy capacity and secrecy energy efficiency. In order to achieve the trade-off between transmission reliability, communication security, and energy efficiency, we develop a quantum-inspired marine predator algorithm (QMPA) for realizing rational configuration of system resources and prevent from eavesdropping. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the QMPA over other strategies. It is also indicated that proper IRS deployment and power allocation are beneficial for the enhancement of system overall capacity.
Mobile edge computing (MEC), which enables mobile terminals to offload computational tasks to a server located at the user's edge, is considered an effective way to reduce the heavy computational burden and achieve efficient computational offloading. In this paper, we study a multi-user MEC system in which multiple user devices (UEs) can offload computation to the MEC server via a wireless channel. To solve the resource allocation and task offloading problem, we take the total cost of latency and energy consumption of all UEs as our optimization objective. To minimize the total cost of the considered MEC system, we propose an DRL-based method to solve the resource allocation problem in wireless MEC. Specifically, we propose a Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic (A3C)-based scheme. Asynchronous Advantage Actor-Critic (A3C) is applied to this framework and compared with DQN, and Double Q-Learning simulation results show that this scheme significantly reduces the total cost compared to other resource allocation schemes
Recently, multi-access edge computing (MEC) has emerged as a promising technology to alleviate the computing burden of vehicular terminals and efficiently facilitate vehicular applications. The vehicle can improve the quality of experience of applications by offloading their tasks to MEC servers. However, channel conditions are time-varying due to channel interference among vehicles, and path loss is time-varying due to the mobility of vehicles. The task arrival of vehicles is also stochastic. Therefore, it is difficult to determine an optimal offloading with resource allocation decision in the dynamic MEC system because offloading is affected by wireless data transmission. In this paper, we study computation offloading with resource allocation in the dynamic MEC system. The objective is to minimize power consumption and maximize throughput while meeting the delay constraints of tasks. Therefore, it allocates resources for local execution and transmission power for offloading. We define the problem as a Markov decision process, and propose an offloading method using deep reinforcement learning named deep deterministic policy gradient. Simulation shows that, compared with existing methods, the proposed method outperforms in terms of throughput and satisfaction of delay constraints.

A sequential optimization algorithm (SOA) for resource allocation in a cyclic-prefixed single-carrier cognitive relay system is proposed in this study. Both subcarrier pairing (SP) and power allocation are performed subject to a primary user interference constraint to minimize the mean squared error of frequency-domain equalization at the secondary destination receiver. Under uniform power allocation at the secondary source and optimal power allocation at the secondary relay, the ordered SP is proven to be asymptotically optimal in maximizing the matched filter bound on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. SOA implements the ordered SP before power allocation optimization by decoupling the ordered SP from the power allocation. Simulation results show that SOA can optimize resource allocation efficiently by significantly reducing complexity.
Priority rules or sequencing heuristics conventionally used to determine resource allocation is to maximize the earned value on time and cost. This study provides a effective strategy-oriented approach for the program resource management problem with limited same resource, which systematically connects individual project objectives to the overall organizational goal, by introducing financial values as well as priority rules in a broader context. It deals with the resource allocation problem as the decision making problem in the strategic management paradigm to meet business objective and solves it using the analytic hierarchy process, and explains the method of application and usefulness through some simulation cases.
