The study on the development of one-channel gas sensor using the quartz crystal analyzer were attempted. The adsorption and desorption behavior of organic gases were investigated using the resonant frequency and resistance method of quartz crystal. The sensitive materials were deposited on the quartz crystal analyzer(QCA) by using Langmuir-Blodgett method. To investigate the response characteristics of organic vapours and response mechanism, resonant frequency-resonant resistance (F-R) diagram was used. In our experimental results, the response mechanism between sensitive LB film and organic vapours was obtained using F-R diagram. And the position of each organic vapour were different as to the kind and injection amount. Thus F-R diagram can be applied to one-channel gas sensor using the QCA and useful to analyze the response mechanism between organic vspours and sensitive LB films.

The pyroshocks can cause failure of electronics devices and structures. Metal-metal impact methods are utilized to simulate mechanical pyroshock, and to adjust the knee frquency of the SRS(Shock Response Spectrum) through resonant structures. In this paper, the major parameters of pyroshock simulation device which affect the SRS were examined. Through the Hertzian contact law and the modal characteristics of the resonant bar, it was found that the SRS is affected by the length and mass of a bar and various impact conditions such as velocity and mass of impactor. The characteristics due to the geometric parameters of a resonant bar was analyzed by performing FEA and also the resonant bar was designed and fabricated. Through the pyroshock simulation test, the characteristics of SRS due to the variation of impact parameters were examined.
The use of internal-model-based linear controller, such as resonant controller, is a well-established technique for the current control of grid-connected systems. Attractive properties for resonant controllers include their two-sequence tracking ability, the simple control structure, and the reduced computational burden. However, in the case of continuous-designed resonant controller, the transient performance is inevitably degraded at a low switching frequency. Moreover, available design methods for resonant controller is not able to realize the direct design of transient performances, and the anticipated transient performance is mainly achieved through trial and error. To address these problems, the zero-order-hold (ZOH) characteristic and inherent time delay in digital control systems are considered comprehensively in the design, and a corresponding hold-equivalent discrete model of the grid-connected converter is then established. The relationship between the placement of closed-loop poles and the corresponding transient performance is comprehensively investigated to realize the direct mapping relationship between the control gain and the transient response time. For the benefit of automatic tuning and real-time adaption, analytical expressions for controller gains are derived in detail using the required transient response time and system parameters. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.

Instrumentation and technologies are described for determining the vibration response characteristics of the pear with frequency range 5 to 320Hz. The computer program for controlling the vibration exciter and the function generator and for measuring the vibration response characteristics of the pear was developed. Mechanical properties such bioyield deformation, rupture deformation and apparent elastic modulus etc. were compared with the vibration response characteristics of the pear. The resonant frequency of the pear ranged from 53 to 102Hz and the amplitude at resonance was between 1.08 and 2.48g-rms. The resonant frequency and amplitude at resonance decreased with the increase of the sample mass, and they were slightly affected by mechanical properties such as bioyield deformation and rupture deformation. Regression analysis was performed among the relatively high correlated parameters from the results of correlation coefficient analysis.

The effect of characteristics of ground and circular foundation on the dynamic behavior of the foundation in vertical motion are considered using an approximated analytical solution and a finite element analysis with absorbing (consistent transmitting) boundary. The shear wave velocity of homogeneous ground affects the resonant frequency of the foundation much but has nothing to do with the maximum response amplitude at resonant frequency. The density in this case affects both the resonant frequency and the maximum response. The size and the mass of the circular foundation are related both to the resonant frequency and the maximum response. However, Poisson's ratio has very little effect on dynamic behavior of the foundation. When the ground is not homogeneous but has the layers, different formations of shear wave velocities would also change the maximum response at resonant frequency.
In this paper, a sliding mode and proportional plus integral (SM-PI) control combined with self-sustained phase shift modulation (SSPSM) for LLC resonant converters is presented. The proposed control scheme improves the transient response while preserving good steady-state performance. An averaged large signal model of an LLC converter with the ZVS modulation technique is developed for the SM control design. The sliding surface is obtained based on the input-output linearization concept. A system identification method is adopted to obtain the transform function of the LLC resonant converter, which is used to design the PI control. In order to reduce the inherent chattering problem in the steady state, the combined SM-PI control strategy is derived with fuzzy control, where the SM control is responsive during the transient state while the PI control prevails in the steady state. The combination of SSPSM and the SM-PI control provides ZVS operation, robustness and a fast transient response against step load variations. Simulation and experimental results validate the theoretical analysis and the attractive features of the proposed scheme.

In this study, the acoustic response technique was applied to evaluate the maturity of melon nondestructively. The acoustic response signals through melon were obtained by microphone and signal conditioner with the lapse of days after fruit set. The acoustic parameters such as resonant frequencies and the spectrum energy ratio were analyzed. To investigate the relation between acoustic parameters and firmness of melon, the compression test was performed. Three resonant frequencies representing f1, f2 and f3 were 150 to 250 Hz, 300 to 400 Hz, and 450 to 550 Hz, respectively. The resonant frequencies were shifted to the lower frequencies and the magnitude of spectrum decreased as the maturity of melon increased. Some significant correlations were found between melon firmness and the spectrum energy ratio in some frequency ranges. It is possible to estimate the maturity of melon by acoustic response technique.
This paper describes frequency response of two-mass system for gyroscope applications. The two-mass system of the proposed device is adapted to the sensing part of the gyroscope in this research. Two-mass system has two resonant peaks and wide flat region between two resonant peaks. The resonant frequency of driving part is in this flat region. Therefore, frequency tuning is not necessary for mode matching. In the proposed device, resonant frequency is designed as 7183 Hz in driving part. Mass ratio of two masses in sensing part is 0.1 and device size is 6 mm $\times$ 6 mm. The device is fabricated by SiOG process. The fabricated spring width is increased from $4{\mu}m$ to $4.5{\sim}4.7{\mu}m$, and the measured resonant frequency is 8392 Hz in driving mode. We operated the sensing part using parallel plate of proof mass to verify the sensing part. It is confirmed the device has a wide fiat region in frequency response curve and the resonant frequency of the driving part is in the wide flat region of sensing mode.

The energy transferred on drill rods by dynamic impact mainly determines the penetration depth for in-situ tests. In this study, the dynamic response and transferred energy of drill rods are determined from the frequency of the stress waves. AW-type drill rods of lengths 1 to 3 m are prepared, and strain gauges and an accelerometer are installed at the head and tip of the connected rods. The drill rods are hung on strings, allowing free vibration, and then impacted by a pendulum hammer with fixed potential energy. Increasing the rod length L increases the wave roundtrip time (2L/c, where c is the wave velocity), and hence the transferred energy at the rod head. At the rod tip, the first velocity peak is higher than the first force peak because a large and tensile stress wave is reflected, and the transferred energy converges to zero. The resonant frequency increases with rod length in the waveforms measured by the strain gauges, and fluctuates in the waveforms measured by the accelerometer. In addition, the dynamic response and transferred energy are perturbed when the cutoff frequency is lower than 2 kHz. This study implies that the resonant frequency should be considered for the interpretation of transferred energy on drill rods.
The alternated forward multi resonant converter (AT forward MRC) is studied on the transient response and the measured loop gain for stability. The compensator is composed of the error amplifier with 3 poles and 2 zeros. This is optimized through the experiment with HP4194A network analyzer. We are initiated by the thinking of how to make the stabilization from the experimental results of loop gain curves. The loop gain, low frequency gain and gain margin are more improved through the experimental considerations. Also, the transient response is more enhanced effectively.
