  • Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) is a representative hydrophilic and water-soluble polymer and widely employed in various applications such as fibers for clothes and industries, films, membranes, medicines for drug delivery system, and cancer cell-killing embolic materials. Moreover, PVA fibers, gels, and films are potentially high-performance materials because they have high tensile and impact strengths, high tensile modulus, high abrasion resistance, excellent alkali resistance, and oxygen barrier property which are superior to those of any known polymers[1,2]. 건축 복합방수공법의 최적성능에 관한 기초연구 (A Fundamental study on the Optimum Performance of the Architectural Hybrid Water-proofing Systems)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the optimum performance of hybrid waterproofing technology, which is including material and construction method. Recently, Hybrid waterproofing technology is developed little by little in KOREA. But there is not any other criterion of performance and evaluation of this technology. So, It is needed that appropriate performance items is are settled urgently. This paper were obtained by the SPSS analysis. In this study the safety factor are more important performance of building waterproofing materials than durability comfortability and productivity. And results of this analysis showed that (1) safety performance consists of Fatigue resistance, Crack Control performance deterioration Processing of tensile performance, Compressive Strength test (2) comfortability performance consists of watertightness, bond performance (3) persistency performance consists of abrasion resistance, tensile performance, flexural strength (4) productivity performance consists of dimension, unit space weight.

  • After drilling, reaming is required to process a workpiece for obtaining an excellent surface quality. In general, a cermet is defined as a "composite of a ceramic hard phase and metal-bonded phase." Cermets have excellent abrasion resistance, thermal resistance, and performance in finishing operations that require surface roughness and processing precision. However, although cermets have significant advantages, research on them is insufficient. In this study, workpiece SM45C was machined using drills and cermet reamers. The cermet reamer was processed for drag finishing for 0, 4, and 6 min. The experimental results showed the effects of drag finishing on surface roughness and dimensional accuracy.

  • In order to overcome the urban heat island effect, highly functional paint is attracting attention as a promising means by shielding heat on the structure (building) surface. When a paint was prepared containing nano-sized silica particles, the heat-insulating performance was relatively higher than that of paints with other sizes. In addition, developed paints showed enhanced properties such as chemical resistance and abrasion resistance test because of the presence of nano-sized silica included in functional paint.

콘크리트 구조물의 친환경 내구성 도장에 관한 기초 연구 (A Study on the Eco-Friendly Durable Pre-Painting for Concrete Structure)

  • 최근 건설 기술의 발달과 건설 환경 변화로 인하여 콘크리트 구조물이 대형화, 고층화되고 있으며 그에 따른 구조물 유지관리와 성능향상을 위한 보수 보강 및 주변환경과의 조화 등 외관을 중시하는 경향이 늘어가고 있다. 본 연구는 토목, 건축분야에서 사용되고 있는 콘크리트 구조물에 적용 가능한 친환경 내구성 도장에 관한 것으로, 기존 유 무기질계 도장재의 온도변화에 따른 신축성, 외벽과의 접착성, 균열과 박리로 인한 내구성 문제를 보완하고 외적 미관 향상에 목적이 있다. 그 방법으로 전처리 혼합물에 고농축 방수액과 접착증강재를 균일하게 혼합한 친환경 전처리 페인트를 조성하여 콘크리트 중성화방지, 내마모성, 은폐력, 접착력, 온도저항성, 내화학성등의 내구성 시험을 하였다. 그 결과, 친환경 전처리 페인트의 도장에 따른 은폐율은 시험기준인 0.96 이상으로 나타났으며, 내마모성시험에서도 일반 수성페인트값 75mg 보다 우수한 1mg의 값을 얻었으며, 인장강도는 방수시방서 기준보다 6.5배 크게 나타났다.

Cu와 Si 첨가에 의한 Al-Sn 합금의 미세조직 제어 (Microstructural Control of Al-Sn Alloy with Addition of Cu and Si)

  • The effect of various alloying elements and melt treatment on the microstructural control of Al-Sn metallic bearing alloy was investigated. The thickness of tin film crystallized around primary aluminum decreased with the addition of 5% Cu in Al-Sn alloy, with tin particles being reduced in size by intervening the Ostwald ripening. With the addition of Si in Al-10%Sn alloy, the tin particles were crystallized with eutectic silicon, resulting in uniform distribution of tin particles. With the addition of Cu and Si in Al-Sn alloy, both the tensile strength and yield strength increased, with the increasing rate of yield strength being less than that of tensile strength. Although the Al-10%Sn-7%Si alloy has similar tensile strength compared with Al-10%Sn-5%Cu, the former showed superior abrasion resistance, resulting from preventing the tin particles from movement to the abrasion surface.

MIM 공법 적용 커넥터 금형 가공용 방전 전극 개발 (Development of Discharge Electrode for Machining Connector Mold applying MIM Process)

  • A discharge electrode plays a role of shaving off workpiece with spark generated by current in discharge machining. Accordingly, for the discharge electrode, an electrode with excellent wear resistance is necessary. Generally, Graphite and Cu are used as the materials of the electrode, and recently Cu-W is mainly used as an electrode with excellent wear resistance. However, the form of the electrode generally used is produced mostly using cutting work, so a lot of costs incur if several similar forms are needed. Thus, this study developed a Cu-W electrode using Metal Injection Molding (MIM) process to produce similar forms with excellent productivity and a great quantity of electrodes in a similar form in discharge machining and carried out a discharge machining test. In developing an electrode applying MIM, predicting contraction of a product in a sintering process, a mold expansion ratio of 1.29486 was given, but the actual product showed a percentage of contraction 24% to 32%, which showed a difference of 3% to 5%. In addition, to verify wear resistance of the discharge electrode, abrasion loss was measured after the discharge.

Effect of porosity on frost resistance of Portland cement pervious concrete

  • Portland cement pervious concrete (PCPC) is an effective pavement material to solve or reduce the urban waterlogging problems. The Mechanical properties, the permeability, the abrasion resistance and the frost resistance of PCPC without fine aggregate were investigated. The increase of porosity was achieved by fixing the dosage of coarse aggregate and reducing the amount of cement paste. The results show that the compressive strength and the flexural strength of PCPC decrease with the increase of porosity. The permeability coefficient and the wear loss of PCPC increase with the increase of the porosity. The compressive strength and the flexural strength of PCPC subjected to 25 freeze-thaw cycles are reduced by 13.7%-17.8% and 10.6%-18.3%, respectively. For PCPC subjected to the same freeze-thaw cycles, the mass loss firstly increases and then decreases with the increase of the porosity. The relative dynamic modulus elasticity decreases with the increase of freeze-thaw cycles. And the lower the PCPC porosity is, the more obvious the dynamic modulus elasticity decreases.

  • The durable lifetime of RC structures is shortened by various reasons, which are the generation of cracks in construction and service term, the exterior deterioration according to climatic condition, the surface damage due to chloride attack and the corrosion of reinforced bars. The durability of concrete structures is nevertheless able to be increased by the method and the material of reinforcement and repair. The epoxy resin is widely used for reinforment and repair of concrete because of the superiority in mechanical property, adhesive property, abrasion resistance, impact resistance and chemical resistance. The epoxy cement mortar with hardening agent has a lot of disadvantages that are troublesome mixing work, weakened weatherability and high cost for hardening agent. In this study, the mix proportion of mortar is presented just only with epoxy resin and some admixtures, and the test result of mortar without hardening agent shows the higher strength than the mortar with hardening agent. In the mix proportion, the weight of epoxy resin must be less than 15% of the unit weight of cement, and 10% of unit weight of cement is adequate for the weight of admixtures.

유-무기 하이브리드 재료와 자외선 흡수제의 배합에 의한 자외선 차단 코팅 (UV Blocking Coatings by Combination of Organic-inorganic Hybrid Materials and UV absorbers)

  • 눈은 자외선과 가시광선에 노출되어 있다. 눈은 자외선 노출에 해로우므로 모든 자외선으로부터 눈을 보호해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 자외선 차단을 위해 투명 플라스틱에 유-무기 하이브리드 재료와 자외선 흡수제의 배합에 의한 자외선 차단 코팅하였고, PMMA, CR 39 및 PC기재에 적용하여 자외선 차단 효과를 조사하였다. 자외선 흡수제의 양이 증가할수록 자외선의 투과도는 낮았다. PMMA의 경우 자외선 투과도를 현저히 감소시켰으며 CR 39에서도 자외선 차단 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, PC자체에서는 자외선 차단효과가 있는 것으로 평가되었다. CR 39 렌즈의 부착력, 내약품성, 내온수성은 우수하였고, 연필 경도의 경우 4H였으며 내마모성은 좋지 않았다.
