For the past few decades, residential improvement projects have been mainly carried out after demolition of the original dwelling place. So far, interests and opinions of the existing residents have largely been ignored during the projects. However, citizen participation in local redevelopment has recently been regarded as essential part as progress in democracy and diversified public interests have offered more importance to citizen participation in the implementation of public policies. While the importance of resident participation has been increasingly emphasized in principle, there still has been more to do in its application in reality. We should develop the experience of collecting community opinion to make them reflected in public policy, if we are to achieve the resident and citizen-centered society. The purpose of this study is to develop an image map tool that can be applied to "Maul-Mandulgi" projects as a visualized method to facilitate the exchange of opinions and work toward agreements. The tool is supposed to assist the public discussion by visualizing the policies and reducing the possibility of misunderstanding, so that residents can properly respond to them. In addition, this study will verify the effectiveness of the tool in the application to local community workshops.
The objective of his study is to research the effect of the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and the public rental housing supply on the nearby community. In the case of public rental housing, many studies have demonstrated that the perception that a public rental house is a low income dwelling has an external effect on the residents immediately outside the area such as the perception of the lowering of house prices. However, an advanced research concerning the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing has not been carried out because it has only recently been enforced. Through a survey conduced of residents who live nearby the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing the aim of his study is to show how the residents perceive the renal houses and are influenced by them. At the same time, this study demonstrates the external effect of rental house supply by analyzing the housing price around the area. Most people who live in the near by 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public renal housing have a negative opinion of his housing because they believe that the residential prices will depreciate. However, only about 40% of the people felt that the residential price depreciation as a result of the 'Dagagu' housing purchase and public rental housing supply was not visible.

The way of thinking of rural residents(Izuk-myun, Anseong-gun, Kyeonggi-do) was surveyed in order to develop the basic model of new rural setlement planning. From the data collected in this survey, rural life-style, farmers' view on traditional rural life, agriculture, farming, agri-policy, social attitude, and degree of satisfaction of rural life, etc. were analyzed. Firstly, most of rural residents interviewed in this survey have the opinion of not leaving their home village if living conditions improved to a reasonable level in the near furture. In decision- making process of village affairs, they want to participate actively and equally. Secondly, in spite of their acceptance of agriculture as a vital sector destined to national security, most of them think that farming should be little of promise. Thirdly, they have the negative attitude to urban-oriented social value and also to the agricultural policy, while seeking consolation through human and traditional viewing of rural life style. Therefore, in the development of new rural settlement model, idea-making should be directed to the betterment of communal value of village life, stability of rural economy, rationalization of rural life style and enhancement of rural-type happiness.

This study focuses on the actual condition and level of residents' participation in the case of Jinmok village, located in Jeonnam province Jangheung-gun Hwejin-myeon, and presents suggestions to inspire residents' awareness and enhance participation. This village has been developing a Green Rural Tourism Village Building Project under management of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Consequently, the importance of residents recognizing they are a "community" has been emphasized as well as promoting the residents cooperation as a community. In addition, it was necessary to research ways to inspire the village to realize the ultimate goal of building rural tourism village. For this, in the beginning of the project, profitable work needed to be provided for the residents to participate in. Constructive participation by all residents is essential in each stage of the project s development. Operating a farm stay or running lodging facilities are options that could be considered. Moreover, it is imperative to immediately establish a awareness about the importance of participation in those who might have a negative or impartial opinion about the project, by providing education. The most efficient way to encourage residents' participation is to support various opportunities for education and field trips. Through these efforts, the residents are able to raise their level of education and develop their man-power as well. Once more, providing an incentive for residents' reliance is the kernel of the project. Considering the state of Korean rural areas, which are rapidly aging and becoming depopulated, green tourism can be a practical alternative for continuing rural development.
Purpose: The collective civil complaint problem is considered as important obstructive factor of the nuclear power plant construction project's success and quality. Therefore, this study demonstrate the factors which can affect the settling collective civil complaints, and also suggest the improvement of the resolution. Methods: This study collected the data of Kori Nuclear Power Division staff, local residents and Hanul Nuclear Power Division staff, local residents, and use them for analysis. Results: The results are twofold in the study: First, the 'Situation Recognition' and 'Mutual Cooperation' which are independent variables for solving collective civil complaints have proved to give positive influence on both the nuclear staff and the local residents about the complaint resolution outcome of the dependent variable. Second, the moderation variable 'Expected Benefit' on the influential relationship between the collective civil complaint resolution factor and the civil complaints resolution outcome proved to have a moderating effect only on the nuclear staff. On the other hand, moderation variables 'Time of SOC Business Implementation' and 'Time of Compensation' proved to have a moderating effect only for the local residents. Conclusion: According to the results, the staff have a positive opinion on the benefits of the nuclear power plant construction, while residents feel strongly that they do not get any benefit from the construction despite of tremendous investment and expected benefit in local area. As this results, policy implementation which is superable different understanding is required.
After the 2000's, the rural village development projects are designated as participatory rural village development programs and projects. The purpose of this study is to draw a scheme to facilitate resident's participation in rural village development project by exploring the factors influencing resident's participation. For this, in Namsa rural theme village in Dansung-myon, Sanchung-gun, Kyongnam Province, the data were collected through field surveys and interviews residents residing in this village. In addition, observations studies and an opinion survey of the persons concerned in the presentation meetings were also conducted. I investigated and analysed the activation factors and the characteristics of residents' participation, and amenity resources which were essential for community planning including the planning-establishment, theme-searching and development of experience program. Through this study, I drew findings as follows; 1) The leader's leadership and residents' positive participation are very important activation factors in the first stage of rural viability. 2) And then, the external support and concern, the establishment of short-and long-term community planning, and the rural-income increase through the development of amenity resources play important roles as activation factors in the successive stage of rural viability. Based on the results of this study, the following recommendations were made. In order to improve the level of resident's participation in rural village development programs and projects, it is necessary to evaluate their successes, failure, barriers and the positive correlation between their success more delicately. In addition to this, it must be suggested the better model for participatory rural village development programs for the further enhancement and improvement of rural village development projects.
The purposes of this study were to understand and compare visitors' and residents' perception about Baekdudaegan. To accomplish the purposes of study, the questionnaire surveys in visitor and resident group were employed at Deogyusan area where is a southern part of Baekdudaegan. As for the results, the knowledge level about Baekdudaegan was low in both groups. Visitors' overall attitudes to management of baekdudaegan were more preservation-oriented as compared with resident group. In addition, both groups pointed there is need to be exceptionally managed through special land zoning approach. The Korea Forest Service, Ministry of Environment, National Parks Authority, local government were perceived as proper management agencies for Baekdudaegan. Findings of this study could be used as basic information for establishing effective management policy in Baekdudaegan. Continuous survey effort which can be aroused public opinion would be asked to produce effective decision-making for Baekdudaegan.
The purpose of this study was to propose the marketing strategy for the local foodservice industry which can lead to successful business in keen competitive foodservice industry by adapting community residents' dining-out behaviors. A total of 350 adults (291 collected, 102 men and 188 women) was surveyed with a questionnaire about the frequency of dining-out, company when out to eat, proper price for one meal, reasons why one chooses a specific restaurant, and general information. Data was analyzed by SPSS/win 7.5. Over the 1/3 of residents (36.3%) ate out 1-2 times a week and slightly over the 1/4 of residents (26.4%) did so 1-2 times a month. Usually men did more dining out than women. Teachers/ professors' (52.6%) dined out 1-2 times a week. Respondents with 1-2 million won of monthly income (46.4%) ate out 1-2 times a week. Almost 3/4 of respondents chose Korean restaurant. The main factors affected selecting the specific restaurant were 'cleanliness of food and atmosphere of restaurant', and 'reasonable price'. More than 1/3 of respondents (38.9%) answered 5,000-8,000 won was reasonable price for eating-out. Respondents in 20's dined out with friends (70.4%) and friends (43.0%) chose the specific restaurant; on the other hand, the other age groups usually dined out accompanied by family (60.7 - 73.7%) and respected spouse or children's opinion when selecting a restaurant. Thus, the menu must be reevaluated from the customers' view point and nutritional status for the well-being of community residents.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify the opinions of Gyeongsangbuk-do residents on out-of-hours (OOH) pharmacies and to examine the operating experiences of pharmacists who are operating OOH pharmacies in other areas. Methods: Cross-sectional survey was carried out for 1,000 Gyeongbuk residents employing a questionnaire via online or face-to-face, and 82 pharmacists who currently operate OOH pharmacies employing a postal questionnaire. Out of eighty-two, 46 pharmacists replied (response rate 56.1%). Results: As for the necessity of introducing OOH pharmacies in Gyeongsangbuk-do, 84.9% answered more than necessary. 86.1% favored the local government support for OOH pharmacies. The necessity of OOH pharmacies was highly evaluated among participants who experienced to be unable to use medicines or services in out of service hours, regardless of their characteristics or health condition. County residents consistently put a positive opinion for the necessity of OOH pharmacies if they have elderly family member(s), while city residents had significant differences across subgroups depending on their conditions (family members, household economics, health status, etc.). Almost all (95.7%) pharmacist participants highly evaluated the necessity of OOH pharmacies and the majority of them (63.0%) felt satisfied. However, 60.9% of participants have ever considered closing their OOH pharmacy business due to private, business management and professional reasons. Conclusion: This study made suggestions to address anticipated issues for the Gyeongbuk-style OOH pharmacy model.

The medical insurance system has been adopted in 1989. Since then, the utilization of medical care services has increased rapidly. It appears that the medical institution needs more nursing manpower such as nurses and nurse aides to meet an increased demand for medical care for the residents. However, the medical care clinics run by a medical practitioners has a more shortage of nursing manpower than hospitals. The purpose of this survey was to analyze the current employment status and to obtain an opinion on the improvement of utilization such as recruitment and retention of nursing manpower. The questionnaire sent to the private physician and the response rate was 28.7% ; 87 out of 300 physicians. 82.6% of the respondents employed nurses aides rather than nurses and an average number of employees per clinic was 2.5 persons. Most physicians had difficulties in recruiting nursing manpower. It took more than one month for replacement on average, therefore, they were suffering from giving good continual care for the patient and also high resignation of nursing personnel. The low wage, long working hours, hard work and lack of incentives are the biggest reasons for the difficulty in recruiting and retaining of the nursing personnel obtained for the clinics survey. The above mentioned problems would be solved in the near future by changing those difficulties. In the meantime, the private physicians are marking an effort to retain the nursing personnel by keeping a relationship of the private physician's cooperatives.
