Nonlinear modeling of roof-to-wall connections in a gable-roof structure under uplift wind loads

  • Light-frame wood structures have the ability to carry gravity loads. However, their performance during severe wind storms has indicated weakness with respect to resisting uplift wind loads exerted on the roofs of residential houses. A common failure mode observed during almost all main hurricane events initiates at the roof-to-wall connections (RTWCs). The toe-nail connections typically used at these locations are weak with regard to resisting uplift loading. This issue has been investigated at the Insurance Research Lab for Better Homes, where full-scale testing was conducted of a house under appropriate simulated uplift wind loads. This paper describes the detailed and sophisticated numerical simulation performed for this full-scale test, following which the numerical predictions were compared with the experimental results. In the numerical model, the nonlinear behavior is concentrated at the RTWCs, which is simulated with the use of a multi-linear plastic element. The analysis was conducted on four sets of uplift loads applied during the physical testing: 30 m/sincreased by 5 m/sincrements to 45 m/s. At this level of uplift loading, the connections exhibited inelastic behavior. A comparison with the experimental results revealed the ability of the sophisticated numerical model to predict the nonlinear response of the roof under wind uplift loads that vary both in time and space. A further component of the study was an evaluation of the load sharing among the trusses under realistic, uniform, and code pressures. Both the numerical model and the tributary area method were used for the load-sharing calculations.

데이터 마이닝을 이용한 아파트 초기계약 예측모형 개발: 위례 신도시 미분양 아파트 단지를 사례로 (Development of Forecasting Model for the Initial Sale of Apartment Using Data Mining: The Case of Unsold Apartment Complex in Wirye New Town)

  • 이 연구에서는 미분양 아파트 단지의 세대별 계약 자료에 데이터 마이닝 기법인 의사결정나무, 신경망, 로지스틱 모형을 적용하여 세대별 초기계약을 예측하는 모형을 개발한다. 모형 개발에는 위례신도시 미분양 아파트 단지의 계약 자료가 이용되며, 이 자료는 훈련용 자료와 검정용 자료로 분할되어 분석에 투입된다. 훈련용 자료에서는 신경망, 의사결정나무, 로지스틱 모형 순으로 예측력이 뛰어났지만 검정용 자료에서는 로지스틱 모형이 가장 우수하게 나타났다. 이 같은 결과는 신경망이 훈련용 자료에 최적화된 모형으로 구축되면서 검정용 자료에 대한 적응성이 떨어져 나타난 결과로 판단된다. 의사결정나무와 로지스틱 모형을 병행 적용한 결과, 층수, 향, 세대 위치, 전기 및 발전기실의 소음, 청약자 거주지, 청약 종류가 초기계약에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 두 가지 모형을 같이 사용하는 것이 초기계약 결정요인 발굴에 더 효과적이라는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구는 데이터 마이닝의 적용 범위를 주택 분양 예측까지 확장함으로써 융복합 분야 발전에 기여하고 있다.

  • 제 1기 신도시 중에서 분당신도시를 중심으로 거주자의 특성을 파악하고 설문조사를 실시하였으며 거주자의 신도시에 대한 인식을 분석하였다. 현장조사 대상지에서 육안검사와 일부 기기검사로 내구성을 평가하고 분석한 결과에 따르면 문제가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 공동주택의 내구연한과 사용성능을 증진시키기 위하여 지속적인 유지관리를 하여야 한다. 특히 급격한 열화 진행 부분에서 나타나고 있는 많은 균열들을 조속히 보수하여야 하며 체계적인 계획을 입안하여 진행하여야 한다. 분당 신도시 거주자의 공동주택 인식조사에서는 약 93.4%가 보통 이상의 만족도를 나타내고 있었으며 43.4%는 거주 지역에 대하여 호감을 가지고 선호하는 결과를 나타내고 있다.

Trend Analysis of Pet Plants Before and After COVID-19 Outbreak Using Topic Modeling: Focusing on Big Data of News Articles from 2018 to 2021

  • Background and objective: The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restricted daily life, forcing people to spend time indoors. With the growing interest in mental health issues and residential environments, 'pet plants' have been receiving attention during the unprecedented social distancing measures. This study aims to analyze the change in trends of pet plants before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and provide basic data for studies related to pet plants and directions of future development. Methods: A total of 2,016 news articles using the keyword 'pet plants' were collected on Naver News from January 1, 2018 to August 15, 2019 (609 articles) and January 1, 2020 to August 15, 2021 (1,407 articles). The texts were tokenized into words using KoNLPy package, ultimately coming up with 63,597 words. The analyses included frequency of keywords and topic modeling based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) to identify the inherent meanings of related words and each topic. Results: Topic modeling generated three topics in each period (before and during the COVID-19), and the results showed that pet plants in daily life have become the object of 'emotional support' and 'healing' during social distancing. In particular, pet plants, which had been distributed as a solution to prevent solitary deaths and depression among seniors living alone, are now expanded to help resolve the social isolation of the general public suffering from COVID-19. The new term 'plant butler' became a new trend, and there was a change in the trend in which people shared their hobbies and information about pet plants and communicated with others in online. Conclusion: Based on these findings, the trend data of pet plants before and after the outbreak of COVID-19 can provide the basis for activating research on pet plants and setting the direction for development of related industries considering the continuous popularity and trend of indoor gardening and green hobby.

코로나19 팬데믹 기간 재택근무 경험자의 실내환경 인식: 음환경을 중심으로 (Remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic and perception of indoor environment: a focus on acoustic environment)

  • 코로나19 팬데믹으로 인해 전 세계 인구는 급격한 변화를 경험하였고, 이 중 하나가 재택근무의 증가였다. 앞으로도 언제든 감염병의 위험에 노출될 수 있으며, 이 외에도 여러 가지 배경으로 인해 재택근무의 확대가 예상된다. 이에 본 연구는 재택근무의 효율성을 제고하고 기존의 한계를 개선하기 위한 방안 마련을 위해 코로나19 팬데믹 시기 재택근무 경험자를 대상으로 실내 환경에 대한 인식을 조사하였다. 특별히 재택근무 경험자의 음환경 인식을 알아봄으로써 주택 내에서 근무할 때 경험하는 음환경 인식에는 어떠한 특성이 있으며, 응답자 개인의 어떠한 변수가 인식 변화에 영향을 주는지 알아보았다. 해당 조사를 통해 동거인 수, 방 개수와 주택 면적, 개인의 소음민감도에 따라 재택근무 시 외부소음, 이웃소음, 동거인소음을 인식하는 경향에 차이를 보이는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과는 향후 주거용도뿐만 아니라 업무 및 학습 용도로도 활용할 수 있는 다목적 주택 설계의 기반 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

농어촌 취약지역 접근성 변화에 따른 생활서비스와 공간구조 변화에 관한 연구 - 고흥군 사양도 사양마을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Change of Living Service and Spatial Structure according to the Change of Accessibility in Vulnerable Areas in Rural Areas - Focusing on Sayang Village, Goheung-gun -)

  • This study investigated changes in the spatial structure of rural villages in Sayang Village, where accessibility restrictions to island areas were improved, and analyzed the spatial composition of houses according to changes in the living environment. First, despite the island's vulnerable transportation requirements being resolved by the completion of the land and bridge in 2018, the local economy continues to stagnate due to a vicious cycle of local living services and job losses. Second, when a survey of residents' changed living services was conducted through the continuation of the specification map, the scope of living areas was expanded by analyzing the frequency and place of visit of fresh food purchases, use of convenience facilities, and medical visits. Third, it is judged that the naturally formed village is composed of small roads to the inside of the village due to the disorganized street system and the form of walking instead of vehicles. Finally, as a result of analyzing the residential space of houses in fishing villages, the aging rate of houses over 30 years old was 62 (91.2%), and the average area of the first house space built was 65.2m2 to 14.1m2, an increase of 17.8% of the total area.

'전라구례오미동가도(全羅求禮五美洞家圖)'를 통해 본 운조루(雲鳥樓)의 공간배치계획과 경관 고찰 (A Study on the Space Planning and Landscape of 'Unjoru(雲鳥樓)' as Illustrated in the Family Hereditary Drawing, "Jeolla Gurye Ohmidong Gado(全羅求禮五美洞家圖)")

  • 계화기법(界畵技法)으로 그린 '전라구례오미동가도(全羅求禮五美洞家圖)'를 통해 운조루(雲鳥樓) 살림집의 공간배치계획과 경관 기법을 고찰한 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, '오미동가도'는 창건주 류이주(柳爾?)가 용천부사로 재임할 때(1782년) 설계도면을 보내 집을 짓게 하였다는 점, 정형화된 풍수적 사신사 구조의 자리잡기와 기본계획도 성격이 농후한 점, 그리고 합각지붕이 1804년에 솟을대문으로 중수되었다는 점 등을 고려하면 운조루 창건시기(1776~1783년)에 제작되었을 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 운조루는 지리산 노고단(祖山)과 형제봉을 주산(主山)으로, 오봉산(案山)과 계족산(朝山)을 안대로 자리했는데, 동쪽으로 흐르는 동방천(外明堂水)을 표현하는 등 배산임수 풍수국면을 설득력 있게 표현하고 있다. 셋째, 운조루는 직교 축선에 위계를 설정하여 품(品) 자형 건물군이 5영역으로 분화된 구조인데, 바깥뜰 외원과 뒤뜰 후원을 갖춘 5동(棟) + 6마당(庭) + 2원(園)의 토지이용체계를 가진다. 넷째, 심미성과 풍수적 화기비보(火氣裨補)를 겸한 바깥뜰(외원)의 조성은 연못(방지원도형)을 중심으로 유교와 도교적 관념 등 상징적 경물(景物)을 대입시켜 지속 가능한 생태정원을 구축하고 있다. 다섯째, 사랑마당에는 화계(花階)와 화오(花塢)를 가꾸었고, 괴석, 학과 매화나무, 소나무, 위성류, 초화류 등 조경 요소를 활용하여 선경의 이상세계를 구축함은 물론 정심수를 도입하는 등 형이상학적 상징성을 엿볼 수 있다. 특히, 사랑채 누마루에서 조망되는 원경과 중경, 그리고 앙부(仰俯) 경관 등 자연의 경(景)이 내부로 관입되거나 외부로 확장되는 차경(借景)과 관경(觀景)의 미를 발견할 수 있다. 여섯째, 북쪽 담장 밖의 소나무 총림과 조산(造山)은 주거환경의 쾌적성 제고 측면은 물론 풍수적 채움의 미학이 고려된 전통조경기법 사례라 하겠다.

  • 최근 도시지역에서 급격하게 발생하는 빈집의 증가는 도시경관 악화, 안전사고 유발, 범죄 사고 발생, 위생 문제 등 다양한 문제들을 야기하고 있다. 통계청 장래인구 추계 결과에 의하면 우리나라 인구 및 가구의 증가율은 지속적으로 감소할 것으로 예상되며 빈집 발생의 증가로 이어질 가능성이 있다. 빈집 발생으로 인한 문제를 방치할 경우, 주거환경 악화와 같은 물리적 쇠퇴뿐만 아니라 사회·경제적으로 지역의 쇠퇴를 야기한다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 지역적 특성 및 공간적 영향력의 존재를 고려한 국지적 차원에서의 빈집의 공간적 분포 특성을 파악할 필요성이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전역적 공간적 자기상관을 측정하기 위해 Moran's I와 지리가중회귀모델(GWR)을 통해 빈집발생이 많은 부산광역시 원도심 일대를 중심으로 분석을 수행하였다. 또한, 공간 분석단위가 달라짐에 따라 공간분석의 결과값에 차이가 나타나는 공간단위 수정가능성에 관한 문제(MAUP)에 대한 평가를 수행하기 위해 읍면동과 집계구의 상이한 공간단위에 대한 빈집 발생 분포를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 부산광역시 원도심 일대의 읍면동별 빈집 발생은 공간적 이질성이 존재하였으며 공간분석단위를 달리함에 따라 빈집 발생의 공간분석 결과가 다르게 나타났다. 이에 빈집 발생의 정확한 분포 특성을 파악하기 위해서는 GWR 모델을 이용한 공간적 차원을 고려하여야 하며, 공간단위 수정가능성 문제(MAUP)에 대한 고려가 필요함을 시사한다.

고위험가족 선별을 위한 위험요인 분석 (The factors to identify high risk family)

  • The main purpose of the study is to identify critical risk factors for development of a family assessment tool to screen high risk family. This study used a conceptual framework of family diagnosis developed by Eui-sook Kim's (1993) and analyzed risk factors to identify the high risk family. As employing a explorative and methodological study design, this study has four stages. 1. In the first stage, 34 family risk factors were identified by doing intensive literature review on conceptual framework of family diagnoses. 2. In the second stage, above risk factors were tested for content validity by consultation with 29 persons in community health nursing, nursing education, family theory, and social work. 3. In the third stage, existing survey data was used for actual application of the identified risk factors. The survey data used for this purpose was previously collected for the community diagnosis in a region of Seoul. At the final stage, through the comparison between high risk and low risk families, initially identified 34 risk factors decreased to 25 risk factors. Among 34 risk factors, six factors did not agree with content of questionnaries sand two factors were not significant in differentiating the high risk family Also, two risk factors showed high correlation between themselves, so only one of those two factors was chosen. As a result, twenty-five risk factors chosen to identify the high risk family are following ; 1. A single parent family due to divorce or death of a partner, or unweded single mother 2. A family with an unrelated household members 3. A family with a working mother with a young child 4. A family with no regular income 5. A family with no rule in family or too strict rules 6. A family with little or no support from other lam-ily members 7. A family with little or no support from friends or relatives 8. A family with little or no time to share with each other 9. A family with family history of hypertension, diabetus, cancer 10. A family with a sick person 11. A family with a mentally ill person 12. A family with a disabled person 13. A family with an alcoholic person 14. A family with a excessive smoker who smokes more than 1 pack / day 15. A family with too much salt intake in their diet. 16. A family with inappropriate management skills for family health 17. A family with high utilization of drug store than hospital to solve the health problems of the family 18. A family with disharmony between husband and wife 19. A family with conflicts among the family members 20. A family with unequal division of labor among family members 21. An authoritative family structure 22. A socially isolated family 23. The location of house is not residential area 24. A family with high risk of accidents 25. The drinking water and sewage systems are not hygienic. The main implication of the results of this study is clinical use. The high risk factors can be used to identify the high risk family effectively and efficiently. The use of high risk factors woule contribute to develop a conceptual framework of family diagnosis in Korea and the list of risk factors need to be revised continuously. Further researches are needed to develop an index of weight of each risk factor and to validate the risk factors.

실학파(實學派) 학인(學人) 홍대용(洪大容)의 중국(中國) 건축관(建築觀)과 북경(北京) 조선관(朝鮮館)에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Chinese Architectural View Point of Realist Hong Daeyong and Joseon Embassy in Beijing)

  • This paper is focused on Damheonseo(湛軒書), an anthology written by Hong Daeyong, and I deal with Chinese Architectural views which he had experienced in his itinerary to Beijing, and the vivid pictures of Joseonkwan (called the Koryo or Joseon Embassy) located in Beijing at that time. He was a scholar of great erudition over astronomy, mathematics, military science, politics, and so on. He was interested in practical sciences at early time, and criticized secular scholars full of vanity who had presented purposeless articles. In his age of 35, Qianlong(乾隆) 30 (1764, Youngjo 41), he, a military escort, accompanied by Hong Uk, Joseon envoy and his uncle. Before his itinerary, he self-studied Chinese. Also, during a long journey he got new experiences and information around each area, deviating his group whenever he had some times. He could get more variant experiences than others because of his character full of curiosity, and his observations from the vivid lives of the time helped us get various views between Chinese and Korean architecture. Likewise, although he denounced Qing(淸) scathingly as a barbarian, he mentioned several points about the characteristics of Chinese architecture at that time. First of all, totally Chinese architecture had strong rational and practical points. Secondly, based on bountiful products, buildings along streets shown in Chinese city had sophisticated compositions, and luxurious and magnificent appearances. Thirdly, using the brick from walls to houses was so universal. Fourthly, the layouts of building with three- or four-closed courtyard had very orderly shapes, and the structure of street was also so arranged. Finally, because of stand-up lives, the scales and appearances of interior space were even more extended, and storages were less developed than those of Joseon. As another points, I found that Joseonkwan was moved next to Shushangguan(庶常館)from Huidongnanguan(會同南館) around Hanlimyuan(翰林院), and had been remodeled into a house with Korean custom in using the inner spaces, although it was followed by a closed courtyard style. Likewise, I recognized that Ondols were sure to be established in all temporary houses during the journey to Qing, and felt their strong traditional residential custom in such mentions. Now that the past pictures have disappeared and ways of life and our values have been largely changed, this study has very important meaning in comparing the ancient Chinese and Korean architecture.
