  • The purpose of this study is to recognize the living space and life pattern transition which is expressed in the modernization course with the analysis of the Jeju rural houses. For this study, I choose 72 residences examples in 8 villages as the subjects which are changed by the spontaneous purpose of the inhabitants who live in Jeju area were chosen as the subjects. As for the research method, after visiting the subject residence directly, and the field study such as the actual estimation, observation and interview were performed. The conclusion of the study with these purpose are as follows. First, The opened spatial composition of the sitting-inclination is composed of the form which has the individual opened room and living room with the mechanism to grant the flexibility to the limited space and the structure for enduring the much-humid oceanic climate. Second, The life pattern shows the sitting life which usually uses the an-bang and living room with the seasonal change.

  • Due to the increase in elderly population, leading our society to that of aging one, informations on elderly living environments are in abundance. However, how the elderly perceive these informations and how they decide to choose their final residences normally depend on each elderly persons aging condition, because differences in each elderly persons daily living environment, dictated by his/her health, living characteristics, and/or living patterns, exist. This research studies design guidelines in planning elderly housing thru analyzing Japans privately funded elderly facilities and comparing their services and spatial configurations.

  • The Sri Autobindo Learning Center(SALC) is sponsoring the development of a passive solar village in Creston, Colorado, Situated near the Sangre de Cristo mountains, Savitri Village will be one of several religious communities in the area. This village will incorporate 12 permanent residences and teaching and guest facilities for fifty to one hundred people. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the passive solar elements and performance of guest house at the Sri Autobindo Learning Center(SALC). To do this evaluation, the following tasks needed to be addressed. 1. the guest house design 2. the location of weather data 3. The determination of the building heating load As part of the evaluation process, guest house design will be modified and the building load and solar saving recalculated. This process will be completed until the building performance is deemed satisfactory. The conclusion is as follows; The high solar savings fraction predicted by SUNCODE should taken as an indication that further design changes would probably not be cost effective. But adding removal overhangs or other low costs measures to increase comfort in the summer appear to be appropriate.

  • Recently the number of rural development plans are increased and projects supported by government are various. These makes rural plans important. But there are many gaps between proposed plan and implementation. These gaps were wasteful in terms of resource management. This study examines differences between plan and implementation and the reasons why they are occurred. For this purpose, we did a case study which is focused on the four-year implementation of 2004-2006 "Unique Experience Village Master Plan" of Seochon, Chungbuk. As a result, we verified facts of gaps and causes, and two major causes were detected : one is the absence of operating and managing body(such as promoter of project, village leader, residences), and the other is inadequate master plan.

  • These Days a lot of Noise Complaints in vicinity of Railway has been more increase than before. Almost 1/3 Residences who lives in Railway side are Exposure to Noise Pollution. Since the Apartment Buildings around Railway are getting more higher, so those of the Noise Barrier are not best solution anymore. We are going to make a New Plane with the state of the art technology for Railway Noise Abatement Control. Our Goal are focus on a development of Light Weight Noise Tunnel designed by new absorption mat'l and tunnel Stucture on the Overbridge and Viaduct of existing Railway. New Noise Tunnel will be reducing their weight more than 30% against Road Traffic One and also 10dB(A) Noise Reduction against Noise Barrier.

  • Explosives demolition mothod is allowed for more efficient time-saving and safer demolitioni operations as compared to conventional / mechanical demolition methods. CDI has to minimize the effects of noise, dust and various demolition hazards to the public areas, and residences that are located adjacent to the project site. CDI's explosives demolition work on the Nam san Foreigner's Apartment Complex and chosun trading Co's factory are backed by over 45 years of explosives experience in the demolition of over 6,000 structures worldwide, many of these structures are similar to the Nam san Foreigner's Apt. and Chosun trading's factory in construction and proximity to sensitive adjacent exposures. Recoginized worldwide as the founder of the leader in explosives demolitioni technology, CDI always will applied "State-of-the-Art" explosives techniques to safely and successfully achieve the desired demolition results on these project. CDI has never injured, much less caused any fatality, to either a worker on one of our sites or to a third party during the implosion of high-rise structure.

  • The aim of this study is to propose the predictive index and analyze the effect of lightsources and colour image types in the residence and office interior. This study was consisted of four steps, and was carried out as follows. 1) The condition of experiment was set up by optical characteristic of lightsources and colours. 2) The scaled model space was manufactured for the evaluation of the same condition by each space. And, some piece of furniture was manufactured for the representation of each space. 3) The emotivity response of lightsources and colours was measured. 4) Results of the evaluation of lightsources and colours were compared and analyzed by conditions, and the predictive index was proposed by image types.
