A Study on Factors Affecting PB(Private Brand) Products Preference (PB제품의 구매선호도 영향요인)

  • Objectives of this study were: First, the purpose of this study is to develope the factors affecting private brand based on past researches and to review effects of the consumer perception factors affecting private brand preference. Second, to set up research model specifying relationships among price perception, information search and experience, Quality perception and private brand preference. Third, to test hypotheses derived from the research model of this study and to attempts to explain how to have the effect the private brand preference. Marketing implications of this study were: As a result LISREL analysis, price perception, informations search and experience, quality perception increase and enhance private brand preference. Limitations of this study were: Data collection methods used in this study were questionable for the lack of general analysis in the difference of preference between characteristics of purchaser and characteristics of non-purchaser exactly because our sample was only limited to Changwon, Masan and Jinhae. So future study has to include samples in other regions.

  • This study is about service failure and recovery. Prior studies of service failure and recovery encounters have been limited to descriptive research based primarily on retrospectiveti.e., memory-based) self-reports. This study uses a survey method and utilize a 2*2*2 experimental design with service recovery scenarios across two services. Manipulations included two levels of controllability, two levels of procedural justice and interactional justice, and two levels of distributive justice. Accordingly, this research examines how the controllability of service failure affect recovery satisfaction, and how these relations are moderated by the justice of service recovery. Conclusively, bi-dimension(outcome and process) constitutes the service recovery and this result supports the insistence that even dissatisfied customers can be satisfied through the service recovery efforts of the organization that once failed to meet the needs and expectation of customers.

  • It has not been a long time since a comparative advertising was emphasized in the advertising industry and academics. The issue is whether comparative advertising is more effective than noncomparative advertising, and if it is true, then under what conditions it is more effective. Based upon previous research results and expertises' opinions, the authors try to figure out the hierarchy of comparative advertising effect and its determinants. The objective of this exploratory study is to develop a conceptual model on comparative advertising effect and research propositions. This model would provide us with broader understanding on comparative advertising, practical guidelines for comparative advertisement production, and foundations of developing more detailed model on comparative advertising effectiveness.

Dimensions of Experiential Value: Is it the same across Retail Channels?

  • Purpose: While empirical importance of dimensionality of perceived value is widely accepted, our understanding of experiential value dimensions in other retail channels and other cultures has not been explicitly tested. This study attempted to determine if the dimensions of experiential value scale (EVS) by Mathwick, Malhotra, and Rigdon (2001) identified in US catalog and Internet contexts could be applied in other international markets (South Korea) and in other retail channels (department store versus Internet shopping mall). Methodology/Approach: Two data sets, one from 220 department store shoppers and the other from 359 Internet shopping mall shoppers, were analyzed. Findings: Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed four different EVS dimensions by retail channels. Overall, entertainment and intrinsic enjoyment values were found to be more important in department store while economic and efficiency value dimensions were interpreted critical in Internet shopping mall context. Visual appeal aspect constitutes distinct value dimension in two channels. Practical Implications: One separate dimension of time efficiency in Internet shopping mall suggests that more efficient web design and functions that can save time and promote convenience are needed to better accommodate their customers. Internet has heavily relied on traditional attributes, such as factual information, price comparability, and brand name reliance. However, this study suggests that Internet shopping mall retailer should offer visual diversion and stimulation just as brick and mortar shopping malls do. Originality /Value of Paper: Although the research findings must be viewed as tentative because the results are from one country, they provide a rich basis for further understanding the dimensions of experiential value in other international markets and other retail channels. Detecting Structural Change in NBD Model (NBD모형의 구조변화 감지)

  • In this research, we develope a procedure for detecting a random non-stationarity to the individual's purchasing rate in a stationary NED model. On this purpose, we derive the likelihood ratio statistic for a testing null and alternative hypotheses defined as whether there is no significant structural change in a stationary NED model or any. Where the structural change comes from a random non-stationarity(marketing mix activities or seasonality, for example) to the individual's purchasing rate. We also apply the developed method to a panel data for a frequently purchased good. This research could be a solution to include the non-stationarity in a stationary NED model. We also expect that the developed model could give a signal for an early detection of significant changes in marketing environment, and a mean for a measurement of the effects of marketing mix activities.

  • The purpose of this study is to study library marketing research trends in Korea and other countries through the analysis of author keyword network of peer-reviewed journal articles. The author keyword was collected from four major LIS journals in Korea and Scopus academic database for other countries'. The data was analyzed using NetMiner4 software. The results of the study were as follows: 1) In Korea, lots of library marketing studies focused on public libraries. However, there was a range of library marketing researches focused on academic libraries in other countries, 2) In Korea, there was not a variety of subjects of library marketing studies and the studies were mainly led by a few scholars, 3) In other countries, many scholars paid attention to digital library marketing through social media and/or web, and 4) there little library marketing studies focused on school libraries both in Korea and other countries.

  • This study intends to examine whether consumers, especially buying apparel product postpone purchase in the beliefs of price break in the near future. For this research objectives, the dynamic price expectation effect model for apparel product is proposed and is applied to weekly sales data and price information of 43 women's apparel brands from a department store over the spring season. The main results are summarized as follows. 1. Dynamic price expectation effect model is developed and the model is more robust to apparel product than Gutenberg model, which is not considered these conditions. 2. By applying the model to empirical data, we find out the price expectation effect in the apparel product; concretely there are 23 brands out of 43 brands. This study confirms the price expectation effects in the apparel product theoretically and extends the research boundary of price expectation effects.

  • Since telecommunications reforms began around world in the 1980s, many scholars have attempted to uncover its effects on the telecommunications sector. Nevertheless, research focusing largely on the impact of privatization on universal service has been relatively less frequent than other research on telecommunications reform such as the effect of competition on efficiency, investment, and universal service, and the impact of privatization on efficiency. From this perspective, this study attempted to explain the impact of the privatization of a state-owned telecommunications enterprise on universal service in Korea. This work may contribute to providing policy-makers and scholars in telecommunications with some useful policy suggestions by concretely illustrating how the privatization of Korea Telecom has influenced universal service policy formulation and the universal service system in Korea.

A Study of Married Immigrant Women's Career Goals and the Meaning (결혼이주여성들의 진로목표와 그 의미에 관한 연구)

  • This study is focused on defining what is their career goals and the standard to set up the goals as an individual married immigrant women. Marriage immigrant women are expected to have higher difficult than Korean women do in reality, so the research will figure out what career goal marriage immigrant women have to achieve the goal. As the results, the data has been collected from seven of the married immigrant women through in-depth interview, the conclusion is as followed: First, career goal for married immigrant women turns out self-reliance and valuable life. Career is used in wide spread range including a job, and their career goal is for being a self-employed, a travel guide, an english teacher, and a regular worker. They have various goal for valuable life to feel that their living is better than monetary stuff, to have a healing tour through music, and to exchange with foreign scholars and train junior scholars. They hope they can be confident as a part of the Korean society and be able to help others and to see themselves as valued to live a life.
