  • In this paper, we investigated the effect of solar cell breakage on maximum output power of PV module. The test result using artificial light source didn't give any change in output power in case of crack near electrical ribbon. Also, there was a reduction in output power in case of increasing of crack area far from electrical ribbon. But, this experiment is under artificial light source test method. So, when such a PV module is outdoor for a long time, there would be problems on electrical output power and durability because of thermal aging phenomenon of solar cell breakage.

  • This paper starts out by reviewing the literature that in different ways utilizes patent data as an output of Research & Development (R&D) investment. The main focus, however, is an analysis of time-lag between industrial R&D input and its output. To achieve this research's purpose, the basic data associated with the industrial R&D input (expenditure, researchers) and output (applied patent and utilities) for the past 15 years, from 1980 to 1994, in the areas of electrical-electronic, mechanical and chemical industries have been collected. And the raw input data were altered into real flow data (but stock data) using Laspeyres approach and analyzed using multiple regression analysis, especially stepwise regression analysis. The result of this study can be summarized as follows: a) The time-lag; between industrial R&D input and its output is within 1 to 3 years. b) The time-lag: of patents was longer than that of utility models. c) The time-lag: in electrical-electronic, chemical industry was longer than that of the mechanical industry.

  • The purpose of thesis is to improve output of solar cell module by enhancing transmission efficiency. To improve transmission efficiency, transmission interconnection ribbon which is used to connect solar cells and busbar which contacts with it has been improved. To secure reliability, comparison research on output of solar cell modules has been conducted by manufacturing PCB module formed by laminated metal with the same output. The result of this research is based on a output efficiency test of modules by comparing electric conductivity of soldering busbar and laminated PCV type of busbar.

  • This paper proposes impedance-based stability analysis of DC-DC boost converters, where a harmonic state space (HSS) modeling technique is used. At first, the HSS model of the boost converter is developed. Then, the closed-loop output impedance of the converter is derived in frequency domain using small signal modeling including frequency couplings, where harmonic transfer function (HTF) matrices of the open-loop output impedance, the duty-to-output, and the voltage controller are involved. The frequency response of the output impedance reveals a resonance frequency at low frequency region and frequency couplings at sidebands of switching frequency which agree with the simulation and experimental result.

  • Purpose: This study aims to examine the research output in the field of nursing at the global level during the last two decades, viz., for the period 1996-2015, with special reference to India. Some of the aspects examined include the research growth in nursing literature during the period of study, leading nursing research countries at the regional and global level, and citation analysis. Scope and Methodology: This study is global in nature, but emphasis has also been laid on India's research contribution in nursing at the global level. Aspects like regional contribution to the nursing research output have also been assessed. This study is purely based on secondary data retrieved from SCImago Journal and Country Rankings. The figures in the study are based on one particular database and are not exhaustive; hence they simply reflect a trend in nursing research at the global level. Findings: During the period 1996 through 2015, a total of 550,490 research articles were published across the world by 212 nation states at an average of 2,596 articles from each individual country. On average, during the period of study, the number of nursing research publications grew at the rate of 7.36% each year. North America has emerged as one of the leading nursing research continents of the world by publishing 218,614 research articles, constituting 39.71% of the global nursing research output. The U.S. and U.K. are the world's two leading nursing research countries, which contributed 193,819 and 61,730 research articles respectively, comprising a 35.21% and 11.21% share of global nursing research output. India and China, apart from being the two fastest growing nursing research countries, have the potential to meet the global human resource demand in the field of nursing, given the skilled and trained human resource both these countries possess in nursing. Social Implication: There is always a need to share working knowledge in some professions and nursing is one of them. There cannot be a better medium than linking practice with theory through the research medium. Metric studies in turn help to get a better idea about the amount of work done in any given field at the national and international level, thus identifying the need thereof to improve upon those areas where there is research lag.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel equalization on-channel repeater (OCR) with a feedback interference canceller (FIC) to relay terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting signals in single frequency networks. The proposed OCR not only has high output power by cancelling the feedback signals caused by insufficient antenna isolation through the FIC, but also shows better output signal quality than the conventional OCR by removing multipath signals existing between the main transmitter and the OCR through an equalizer. In addition, computer simulations and laboratory test results demonstrate that the proposed OCR successfully cancels feedback signals and compensates channel distortions and provides a higher quality transmitting signal with higher output power than conventional OCRs.

  • This paper examines the effects of IT technology capital and R&D stock's variation on the growth of Korea's industries with the empirical approaches. We analyze the Granger causality and Impulse response function analysis among the Korea's industrial real output, IT technology capital, and R&D stocks. When it comes to this research conclusion, we know that IT technology capital and R&D stock's shocks affect the growth of Korea's industrial sector in terms of increasing in the real output growth rate.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the monolithic zero crossing detection power factor correction IC using a high voltage 30V BCD process. The ZCD PFC IC is designed for power applications, such as notebook, LCD monitor, etc. It includes power factor correction function and several protection circuit, regulator, high-voltage high current output drivers. And also, the designed IC has restart timer function which the output pulse is generated if the output signal of IC is not in a 200us. The simulation results show that the designed IC acts properly as power factor correction IC with efficient protective functions.

  • We have demonstrated a highly efficient cladding-pumped ytterbium-doped fiber laser, generating $>$2.1 kW of continuous-wave output power at 1.1 μm with 74% slope efficiency with respect to launched pump power. The beam quality factor ($M^2$) was better than 1.2. The maximum output power was only limited by available pump power, showing no evidence of roll-over even at the highest output power. We present data on how the beam quality depends on the fiber parameter, based on our current and past fiber laser developments. We also discuss the ultimate power-capability of our fiber in terms of thermal management, Raman nonlinear scattering, and material damage, and estimate it to 10 kW.
