Purpose: This study was to determine the current trend of nursing research as exploring both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and to provide the explicit direction to improve the quality of published papers. Methods: Total of 366 articles published between 2004 and 2006 was reviewed using the criteria of analysis. Results: There was more number of quantitative studies than qualitative studies. More studies were conducted with subjects who had health problems, and studies that targeted women and elderly population have been significantly increased. In quantitative methodology, utilization of experimental and quasi-experimental designs has been increased, however descriptive study was dominant as yet. In qualitative methodology, studies using grounded theory and phenomenology were frequently published. It was noted that theoretical framework and rational for sample size were rarely presented in quantitative study. Philosophical position and the process of preparation for study, which guided the research, were not clearly described in qualitative study. Conclusion: The findings of this review suggest that published studies have been improved and diversified, however, detailed and clear evaluation tool that assesses study process and method should be developed as a way to further improve the quality of published papers.
This paper proposes the necessity of a walking period in footstep planning and details situations in which it should be considered. An optimization-based fast footstep planner that takes the walking period into consideration is also presented. This footstep planner comprises three stages. A binary search is first used to determine the walking period. The front stride, side stride, and walking direction are then determined using the modified rapidly-exploring random tree algorithm. Finally, particle swarm optimization (PSO) is performed to ensure feasibility without departing significantly from the results determined in the two stages. The parameters determined in the previous two stages are optimized together through the PSO. Fast footstep planning is essential for coping with dynamic obstacle environments; however, optimization techniques may require a large computation time. The two stages play an important role in limiting the search space in the PSO. This framework enables fast footstep planning without compromising on the benefits of a continuous optimization approach.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to empirically identify the risky behavior of mobile device users using the Internet of Things on a situational perspective. Design/methodology/approach This study made a design of the research model based on model of the determinants of risk behavior. Data were collected through a survey including hypothetical scenario. SmartPLS 2.0 was used for the structural model analysis and t-test was conducted to compare the between normal and situational behavior. Findings The results were as follows. First, the central roles of risk propriety and risk perception were verified empirically. Second, we identified the role of locus of control as a new factor of impact on risky behavior. Third, mobile risk propensity has been shown to increase risk perception. Fouth, it has been shown that risk perception does not directly affect risky behavior and reduce the relationship between mobile risk propensity and risk behavior. According to the empirical analysis result, Determinants of risk behavior for mobile users were identified based on a theoretical framework. And it raised the need to pay attention to the impact of locus of control on risk behavior in the IS security field. It provided direction to the approach to risky behavior of mobile device users. In addition, this study confirmed that there was a possibility of taking risky behavior in the actual decision-making.

In order to examine the educational effects and future directions of unplugged activities, we conducted a systematic review of Korean journals and theses from 2007 to 2016. Three kinds of database were used for systematic review: RISS, KISS, and E-article, and were performed searches using options such as 'unplugged' and 'play-centered'. Based on the protocol selected in the framework of the systematic review, 37 articles were selected analyzed in terms of research status, research subjects, research methods, research hubs, study mechanisms, educational methods, and research effects. Unplugged activities were the most popular among elementary school students. Educational effects were found to have significant effects on academic achievement, problem solving ability, and logical thinking ability. In the affirmative domain, there was a significant effect on interest, curiosity, and motivation. Based on the results of the analysis, the characteristics and implications of Unplugged activities and present the direction of future education were discussed.
This paper is a study on the improvement of industrial land information system. Status and problems of current industrial land information system is analyzed to establish objectives and methods and direction of improving the system based on our analysis. Since the industrial land information system is using outdated H/W and commercial S/W, there exists problems such as large maintenance cost, difficulty of immediate response for system problems and limited access of searching and providing information. In this paper, the problems of current system is resolved through applying the "e-Government standard framework" and open source S/W. And we suggested application of functions on information link enhancement and visualization through this research. Our research is expected to be applicable for analyzing/designing and developing system improvement in the future.
Analytical investigations were performed of a longitudinal crack representing a cylindrical surface in circular shafts loaded in torsion with taking into account the non-linear material behavior. Both functionally graded and multilayered shafts were analyzed. It was assumed that the material is functionally graded in radial direction. The mechanical behavior of shafts was modeled by using non-linear constitutive relations between the shear stresses and shear strains. The fracture was studied in terms of the strain energy release rate. Within the framework of small strain approach, the strain energy release rate was derived in a function of the torsion moments in the cross-sections ahead and behind the crack front. The analytical approach developed was applied to study the fracture in a clamped circular shaft. In order to verify the solution derived, the strain energy release rate was determined also by considering the shaft complimentary strain energy. The effects were evaluated of material properties, crack location and material non-linearity on the fracture behavior. The results obtained can be applied for optimization of the shafts structure with respect to the fracture performance. It was shown that the approach developed in the present paper is very useful for studying the longitudinal fracture in circular shafts in torsion with considering the material non-linearity.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of problem making of 19 mathematically gifted students in junior high school. In this study, we examined the expansion and sophistication of the problems made by gifted students, focusing on the analysis framework proposed in the previous research. Next, the problem making by gifted students were categorized into 'horizontal problem making' and 'vertical problem making.' As a result of this study, it was found that problem making by gifted students was not enough in terms of extension and sophistication. In addition, gifted students made problems in the direction of decreasing complexity than original problems when creating new problems, and considered the conditions presented in the original text separately but not comprehensively.

The purpose of this paper is to examine factors affecting user´s satisfaction in development of natural recreation forest(NRF) in order to answer the research question: What is the magnitude of factors affecting user´s satisfaction in development of NRF. After reviewing the literature, mechanism of outdoor recreation, and development factors in NRF, we constructed the conceptual framework and have formulated the hypothesis of this research. we have obtained data through a questionnaire, which surveyed 625 visitors at 10 of the 72 natural recreation forests in Korea in 1999, We have analyzed the data using the mean difference test, Pearson´s correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression method. We found that 1) all the development factors except recreational resources affecting user´s satisfaction have turned out to be statistically significant at one percent level. The direction of relationship between independent variable and dependent variable is the same as that of dependent variable. 2) in bivariate analysis, the relationships between user´s satisfaction and all the development factors are fairly high and statistically significant. The higher the value of development factors, the higher the degree of user´s satisfaction. 3 in multivariate analysis, such variables as the suitability of activities level of services, atmosphere, and facility have been statistically significant at one percent level, and 4) Their relative contribution of the suitability of various recreational activities, level of atmosphere, and service on dependent variable have been turned out to have 8.167, 4.889, 3.333, and 1.611 times more importance than that of the suitabity of recreational resources, respectively. The research results suggest that a guideline for the creation of marketable NFR and development of use-programs and recreational atmosphere be recommended in the planning and development process of NRF, and excessive investment on facilities is not desirable. The approach and analysis method adopted by this research is highly useful for an evaluation criterion of NRF and development of devices for increasing user´s satisfaction in NRF. It is recommended that more empirical study on individual factors affecting user´s satisfaction be performed in the future.
Since the game theory provides a theoretical ground to distribute a shared resource between demanding users in a fair and efficient manner, it has been used for the bandwidth allocation problem in a network. However, the bandwidth allocation schemes with different game theory assign different amount of bandwidth in the same operational environments. However, only the mathematical framework is adopted when a bandwidth allocation scheme is devised without quantitatively comparing the results when they applied to the bandwidth allocation problem. Thus, in this paper, we compare the characteristics of the bandwidth allocation schemes using the bankrupt game theory and the bargaining game theory when they applied to the situation where nodes are competing for the bandwidth in a network. Based on the numerical results, we suggest the future research direction.
