  • The requirement to reuse a design knowledge have been enlarged with the automation of a design system. A design knowledge gives logical and technical meanings to design data of a problem area. The representation of the knowledge is distributed and developed independently. For this reason, we need a general methodology with a semantic interoperability of design knowledge. In this paper, we accept previous requirements by using semantic query system with ontology repository.

  • Design repository is considered an effective method to manage a set of heterogeneous design knowledge. In this paper, methodologies for modeling and managing different types of design knowledge - ontology for mold design task as well as mold components, rule bases, and library containing standard parts, material property, molding condition, etc. - in a design repository are described.

  • 소비자가 주도하는 현대의 시장에서 제품의 복잡성은 점점 더 커지고, 제품 개발 활동은 지리적으로 분산되어 수행되는 경향이 확산되고 있다. 이러한 환경에서 요구되는 설계 개발 툴로서의 지능형 설계 시스템은 종래의 CAD 시스템보다 다양한 기능을 가져야 하고, 도면이나 문서와 같은 전통적인 정보보다 다양하고 고도화된 정보를 취급할 수 있어야 한다. 이와 같이 제품이나 부품의 형상 외에도 설계 의도와 규칙, 지식 등을 포함하여 기능과 거동 및 구조를 표현할 수 있는 플랫폼을 설계 저장소라 한다. 조립 제품을 대상으로 하는 설계 저장소(NIST Design Repository)와 소프트웨어를 대상으로 하는 설계 저장소(SPOOL Design Repository)의 개발 사례를 들어, 설계 저장소가 설계의 지능화에 어떻게 기여할 수 있으며 얼마나 중요한 지를 소개하였다.

  • UML is used for standardized design, but it has a problem to reuse classified and standardize design information to reuse existing design information. In this paper, the plan to solve these problems design the HYREPnIYbrid REPository) using pattemize design information, and to express together specific property of standardized design information and non standardized design information. It save standardized design information in public area, and non design information in private area. And to express saved design information in repository, UML 1.3 of OMG is used and explained the relationship of the object. Therefore, we designed hybrid repository to express standardized design information and non standardized design information using inheritance concept to remove over adding of pattemized design information.

  • In a design-to-manufacturing environment, the product data is shared by various CAD/CAM/CAE systems with little integration or substantial data redundancy. The main purpose of this paper is to build a database containing all the features required for STEP-NC machining and to show how a STEP-NC repository can support the complete process for machining. A STEP-NC database schema has been constructed and several query functions have been built for the purpose of implementing the retrieving system of a STEP-NC database. The EXPRESS data model of ISO 14649 has been mapped to the database data definition language of the Oracle database. To apply the STEP-NC database to an industry example, the ISO 14649 part program has been stored into the STEP-NC database. To implement example scenarios, the sample query interface has been built.

  • Systematic procedure of developing radionuclide release scenarios was established based on FEP list and Interaction Matrix for near-surface LILW repository. FEPs were screened by experts'review in terms of domestic situation and combined into scenarios on the basis of Interaction Matrix analysis. Under the assumption of design scenario, The system domain was divided into three sections: Near-field, Far-field and Biosphere. Sub-scenarios for each section were developed, and then scenarios for entire system were built up with sub-scenarios of each section. Finally, sixteen design scenarios for near-surface repository were evaluated A reference scenario and other noteworthy scenarios were selected through experts'scenario screening.

Three-Dimensional Modelling and Sensitivity Analysis for the Stability Assessment of Deep Underground Repository

  • For the mechanical stability assessment of a deep underground high-level waste repository. computer simulations using FLAC3D were carried out and important parameters including stress ratio, depth, tunnel size, joint spacing, and joint properties were chosen from sensitivity analysis. The main effect as well as the interaction effect between the important parameters could be investigated effectively using fractional factorial design . In order to analyze the stability of the disposal tunnel and deposition hole in a discontinuous rock mass, different modelings were performed under different conditions using 3DEC and the influence of joint distribution and properties, rock properties and stress ratio could be determined. From the three dimensional modelings, it was concluded that the conceptual repository design was mechanically stable even in a discontinuous rock mass.

  • Recently, Levels of Information Systems Interoperability (LISI) that are used for assessing the information systems interoperability are defined according to the importance of interoperability among information systems. At that time, it is necessary to the construction of an assessment information repository to store and retrieve the interoperability assessment data efficiently. An LISI repository constructed for storing and retrieving an assessment information should support assessment systems that are developed in various Platforms and provide its functions by a standardized way. Business logics of LISI repository should be developed as distributed components, and we need to modify existing software design methods to show characteristics of LISI repository in addition to the standardized LISI data expression. Also a concrete method to recognize various implementation technologies and to apply them to implementation of LISI repository is needed. This paper provides a design method for developing an LISI repository that is considering the characteristics of LISI repository by three concerns, and an implementation scheme that can apply to the integration of the various repository implementation technologies systematically, as the LISI repository development framework for constructing the LISI repository. These help developers to construct the LISI repository effectively by providing concrete guidelines for considerations and appliable methods to construct the LISI repository.

  • Libraries and Museums have used archiving systems to preserve digital contents. Especially, university libraries mainly archive research resources including research papers. To the best of our knowledge, we proudly propose an educational repository oriented to archive overall educational process for the first time. To design the repository, we choose educational resources which need to be archived. Then, digital formats appropriate for long-term preservation are heavily discussed. Based on the design, we have practically implemented the system using representative repository software : DSpace, EPrints, Fedora, Omeka. Finally, educational resources of the specific subject are archived on each system, and the result of comparison is presented.
