  • The importance of reliability in the development of weapons systems and reliability tests has been emphasized recently. Therefore, this study evaluated a reliability test design method of a bladder type accumulator and proposed a process for reliability test design. To design the reliability test of the accumulator, the main failure modes and failure mechanisms were investigated, and the main stress factors were analyzed to select the appropriate acceleration model. A steady - state reliability test was designed according to the number of samples, and the reliability level and accelerated life test time were calculated according to the acceleration factor computed using the selected acceleration model.

  • In the fields of reliability application, the most commonly used test methods for reliability qualification are zero-failure acceptance tests since they require fewer test samples and less test time compared to other test methods that guarantee the same reliability with a given confidence level. Usually values of shape parameters are assumed to be known in designing reliability qualification tests for Weibull lifetime distribution. It is important to select correct values of shape parameters to guarantee the specified reliability with given confidence level exactly. The effect of using wrong values of shape parameters in designing reliability qualification test for products with Weibull lifetime distribution is examined and selecting proper values of shape parameters for conservative reliability qualification is discussed.

  • The objective of this paper is to evaluate the reliability of a volute pump and presents test results through performance and life tests. The performance and life test methods were presented by analyzing the failure modes of the volute pump. Zero failure test time was calculated to evaluate the reliability of the volute pump and then, the test was performed under accelerated conditions. The test was also carried out to check the failure modes of the field conditions. This study can be provided to improve the product reliability through failure analysis of the volute pump. And failure cause of typical failure case has been investigated and improvement design has been presented. The performance test results of before and after the accelerated life test were presented to confirm the improved reliability of the volute pump.

  • This paper is concerned with the problem in predicting the reliability of an LCD product, Product reliability calculation methods classify accelerated life test (ALT) and using the reliability standard as MIL-HDBK-217F and Telcordia SR-332. The reliability standard can calculate estimating value more quickly than accelerated life test. The system MTBF was calculated in accordance of Telcordia SR-332 standard which includes directions of part electronic measurement, temperature rise and environmental test data. This research is intended to obtain the useful information for each electric design step to save time and cost.

  • In design verification and process validation stages, reliability demonstration tests(RDT's) are common practice in industry, A new two-stage RDT that is known to be more efficient than a corresponding single-stage one in terms of expected test duration for Weibull distribution is proposed. Zero or one failure two-stage plans to minimize expected test duration under Type I and hybrid censoring subject to satisfying consumer's risk at a specified reliability target are developed and a numerical example is provided to illustrate the proposed two-stage RDT plans and compared with other one- and two-stage plans.

  • PURPOSES: This study is to estimate nondestructive strength equation based on probability for bridges using field test data. METHODS : In this study, a series of the field inspection and the test have been performed on 297 existing bridges, in order to evaluate the bridges, based on the test results of the in-depth inspection, and the estimated strengths by means of the nondestructive strength equations are analyzed and compared with results of the core specimen strengths. RESULTS : According to results of analyses, In case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 18MPa, 21MPa, similar reliability of RILEM equation were 0.89~0.90, but in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 35MPa, 40MPa were 0.4~0.56. According to standard design compressive strength of concrete is 40MPa, similar reliability of ultrasonic pulse velocity method equation were 0.56. CONCLUSIONS :RILEM equation had high similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 18MPa, 21MPa, but had low similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 35MPa, 40MPa. and ultrasonic pulse velocity method equation had low similar reliability than other equation in case of standard design compressive strength of concrete is 40MPa.

  • In this paper, we have proposed a methodology which can make effective test for system integration of complex guided missile system. System integration test play a significant role in the development of weapon system, providing the means to detect and isolate faults on first linkage between sub-systems. Integration tests for domestic weapon system has executed not a technology-intensive method based on tool but labor-intensive method based on experience. Higher cost, longer period, and more resource are required to execute system integration test for complex guided missile system comparing with past weapon systems, because recently weapon systems have more complex and more networked functions. Because the proposed design method for system integration test decreases number of test case, it lead to a decrease of cost, period, and resource for integration test of weapon system. The proposed configuration for system integration test will ensure reliability through detection and isolation of fault on linkage between sub-systems.
