In recent years, the relationship of language maintenance to culture and identity has received increased attention in the language acquisition and education fields. Korean immigrants in the U.S. form one of the biggest Asian groups and their language and cultural maintenance has been a major issue for both parents and ESL teachers. The present research is designed to investigate the cultural and social identities as well as the psychological investment factors that contribute to heritage language maintenance. Three Korean immigrant families in a small Midwest university town in the U.S. were surveyed and later interviewed. Issues and strategies concerning their children's Korean education in the U.S., coupled with the competing goal for the children to learn English were documented through parent interviews and interviews with school-aged focal children. Strategies and stances that facilitate or hinder both heritage and target language maintenance goals are presented along with participants' major reasons for heritage language maintenance in their homes and via Saturday schools. This work will assist ESL teachers and sociolinguists in situating both Korean student and parent goals in the context of shifting cultural and linguistic identities in countries where they have immigrated.

As railroad industry face the new Renaissance era, effective and efficient maintenance methods for rolling stock operation are required with advanced railroad technology. All kinds of railroad systems such as high speed long distance train, metropolitan mass transit and light rail require systematic maintenance technology in order to maintain the safe railroad operation. Simulation models for detailed operations of the sample maintenance center are developed. In this study, standard maintenance procedures, layout, equipments and number of workers of Siheung Metropolitan Railroad Maintenance Rolling Stock Depot are considered. The proposed simulation models are developed using simulation package ARENA. Three simulation analysis using the developed simulation model are done. First, the bottleneck operation is identified. Second, the relationship between maintenance center size, number of workers and cycle time is analyzed. Lastly, the scheduling performances between PERT/CPM and Critical Chain Project Management(CCPM) are compared.

It is important to maintain information system (IS) following the business and institutional change. Even if successfully developed information systems, we cannot gain the benefit from the systems without the proactive maintenance activities. However, the importance of IS maintenance has not been considered as much as the system development, and we don't have any specific performance management structure. The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between IS maintenance activities and utilization. For empirical test of the hypothesis model, the sample data is collected from public information system sites. Results from multiple regression analysis reveal that proactive maintenance activities including IS maintenance cost increase, improving functionality, and enhancing ease of use have a causal effect on the IS utilization.

The current virtual fashion influencers are a hyper-real prototype in that it has a higher presence than the virtual humans in the past. Also, they are leading fashion trend with more than tens of thousands of followers on social media. This study investigated the physical and social presence of virtual fashion influencer perceived by consumer and verified effects on evaluation attributes of influencers and the relationship maintenance behavior. A total of 321 Korean women in their 20s and 30s who have Instagram account participated in the online survey. The data was analyzed using AMOS 23.0. The results revealed that the physical presence had a significant impact on attractiveness of virtual fashion influencers. In case of social presence had a positive effect on friendliness and reliability of virtual fashion influencers. In addition, evaluation attributes of virtual fashion influencers' friendliness, attractiveness and reliability in the order of influence on relationship maintenance behavior. This study suggested that the development of social presence of virtual fashion influencers with friendliness and attractiveness is more important than the physical presence that has already reached a high level.

Due to the rapid growth of social networking community (SNC), research into SNC user's behavior has recently emerged as an important issue in information systems. An individual makes a decision whether or not to continually use his or her own SNC and to purchase digital items to decorate it. Most previous research has focused on a user's continuance intention and has ignored the importance of purchase intention. This study develops and empirically tests an integrated model designed to predict a user's two types of behavioral intention：continuance intention and purchase intention based on the expectation-confirmation model (ECM) and a dual model of relationship maintenance mechanism.The results indicate that perceived usefulness, satisfaction, personalization, and switching cost have important influences on the formation of SNC continuance intention. The results also show that perceived usefulness and satisfaction does not have any significant impacts on purchase intention, while personalization, learning, attractiveness of alternatives, and continuance intention significantly affect it.

This study examines the effects of SNS fashion influencer's authenticity on the followers' relationship maintenance intention and product purchase intention through the mediating role of fanship. In addition, influencer's attractiveness is proposed as a moderator affecting the authenticity on fanship; in addition, authenticity is operationalized as honesty and expertise. A written survey is developed for 181 female Instagram users. The analyses of the data yields the following findings. First, honesty has a positive effect on fanship, relationship maintenance intention and purchase intention, while expertise affects fanship and relationship maintenance intention, but does not have a significant effect on purchase intention. Second, honesty and expertise have a positive effect on follower behavior intention through the partial mediation of fanship. Third, social attractiveness and physical attractiveness have a significant effect on fanship. However, all interaction effects between authenticity and attractiveness are not significant. Unlike authenticity, attractiveness has no direct effect on follower behavior intention. This study verifies the critical role of authenticity for an influencer in the context of SNS marketing and commerce, as this factor leads to followers behavioral intention as well as fanship in both direct and mediated paths.

This study examined the psychological process in which Facebook access motivation impact upon offline interpersonal relationship change and continuance usage intention of Facebook, A questionnaire was administered to 420 college students in the Busan, and Gyeongnam provinces This research resulted in a number of key findings: First, Facebook access motivation of maintenance of social connection had a positive influence on offline interpersonal relationship change. Second, Facebook access motivation of social pressure from others had a positive influences on offline interpersonal relationship change. Third, Facebook access motivation of habitual use had a positive influences on continuance usage intention of Facebook, Fourth, Offline interpersonal relationship change mediates between Facebook access motivation of maintenance of social connection & Facebook access motivation of social pressure from others and continuance usage intention of Facebook, This study reveals that, Facebook access motivation of maintenance of social connection and Facebook access motivation of social pressure from others were a significant predictors of offline interpersonal relationship change, and Facebook access motivation of maintenance of social connection and Facebook access motivation of social pressure from others indirectly affected continuance usage intention of Facebook through the offline interpersonal relationship change.

Maintenance monitoring of the tunnel which offers continuous data during and after tunneling has been applying to tunnels in order to meet the maintenance of tunnel and to confirm continuous security of the tunnel after tunneling. But, the maintenance monitoring of tunnel results for long period is not easy to find, and moreover, the rational analysis method on tunnel monitoring has not been established yet. In this study, the relationships between displacement and stress of the tunnel concrete lining using various analysis methods are compared with maintenance monitoring. The tunnel behavior were measured in the subway tunnel passing comparative soft the weathering and analyzed both security and mechanical characteristics of the tunnel concrete lining. Also, analyzed relationship between residual water pressure applied on tunnel design and one obtained by monitoring.

Our country is constructed the digital map in the first NGIS plan. Through digital map construction, it was had the potentiality that can more easily activate GIS. But these data included numerous problems from user's view. In the second NGIS plan, our government try to construct the framework data for the maximization of GIS utilization. This paper is showed a step of update that considered relationship between the national framework data themes, suggested the structure of maintenance activity for national framework data.

Seismic intensity deduced from instrumental data has been evaluated using the empirical relationship between intensity and peak ground acceleration (PGA) during an earthquake. The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) developed a seismic intensity meter, which can estimate the real-time seismic intensity from seismic motions observed at a local site to evaluate the damage during the earthquake more correctly. This paper proposes a practical application of the JMA intensity to dams during the 2013 earthquake in Yeongcheon, Korea. In the present paper, seismic intensity was estimated from the relationships between accelerations observed at Yeongcheon Dam. Estimated seismic intensities were in the range of 0 to 3, which was verified from the displacements of dams and the variation of the ground water level observed at Yeongcheon dam during the earthquake. The JMA intensity, which is determined by considering the frequency, duration of cyclic loading, etc., was 0 (zero) and there was no damage to Yeoncheon dam during the earthquake.
