For several decades, VSC has gained much attention as one of the useful design tools for handling the practical system with uncertainties or disturbances. Generally, the disturbances in the matching condition can be perfectly rejected via VSC; however, these in the mismatching condition are known to be hardly rejected. There have been some trials on it, in which the resulting controls in fact belong to the class of robust control guaranteeing disturbance ${\gamma}$-attenuation. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new Variable Structure Control (VSC) for a system with mismatched disturbances. The proposed controller is composed of linear and nonlinear parts; the former plays a role in stabilizing the system and the latter takes care of attenuating the disturbances. The main contribution is to introduce the concept of switching-zone, rather than switching-surface, that is designed through piece-wise Lyapunov functions. The resulting non-convex conditions are formulated with an iterative linear programming algorithm, which provides an excellent performance of almost rejecting the disturbances.

This paper wants to suggest some issues on the acceptance of payment order in Electronic Funds Transfer of USA. The result can be summarized as fellows; First, originator's bank accepts a payment order when it executes the order. Secondly, beneficiary's bank accepts a payment order at the earliest of the following times: (1) when the bank pays the beneficiary as stated in Section 4A-405(a) or 4A-405(b), (2) when the bank notifies the beneficiary of receipt of the order or that the account of the beneficiary has been credited with respect to the order unless the notice indicates that the bank is rejecting the order or that funds with respect to the order may not be withdrawn or used until receipt of payment from of the order. (3) when the bank receives payment of the entire amount of the sender's order pursuant to Section 4A-403(a)(1) or 4A-403(a)(2). Lastly, the acceptance of a payment order cannot occur before the order is received by the receiving bank.

New concept of energy recovery for plasma display panel (PDP) Is proposed. Different from conventional LC resonant sustaining drivers, the current built up before inverting the polarity of the panel electrodes is utilized to change the panel Polarity together with energy Previously charged in Panel capacitance. This operation Provides zero -voltage-switching of switches and reduction of EMI by rejecting the surge current when the sustain switches are turned on. The build-up current helps to reduce transition time of panel polarity and may produce more stable light waveforms. This method shows a desirable characteristic that the circuit loss is similar to that of series resonant type energy recovery circuit which is very effective method.

In this paper we propose multi-functional telephone rejecting a simultaneous call at home or small office with several telephones in one line. Also we describe the protocol to transfer a call to the other telephone in different place with ease. So the proposed scheme can protect a personal privacy and provide the conveniency. Since the proposed phone is implemented with Holtek HT95C20P microprocessor, the most of functions can be easily changed accordance with user's needs.

The contact roll is often used to regulate the winding tension as well as the entrained air in a wound roli by adjusting the contact force to the winding roll. But the contact force generated by other rolls, like assistant nip rolls, in a winding(or roll changing) process may act as disturbance to the control of the winding tension. In this paper, the mechanism of a roll change process is analyzed. And, the behavior of the contact and the assistant nip rolls are mathematically modeled. A nonlinear PID(NPID) controller is designed to control the winding tension and to reject the effect of disturbance generated by the assistant nip roll on the winding tension variation. Computer simulation study showed that the performance of the suggested NPID controller is improved compared with that of the PID controller in con trolling the winding tension and in rejecting the effect of the disturbance.

본 논문에서는 확률신경망 이론을 적용하여 GPS 단절구간에서 보행자의 위치정보의 정확도를 향상시키는 기법을 제안한다. 일반적인 보행 외 옆으로 걷기, 오리걸기, 기어가기 등 여러 보행 형태에 대한 보행 패턴을 학습하고 이에 대한 이동거리를 구하여 관성항법의 적분오차를 최소화하도록 한다. 제안 시스템은 보행자가 휴대할 수 있는 소형/경량화/저전력 설계된 H/W 모듈 형태로 구현을 하였으며, 건물 내에서의 보행자 이동 실험을 통해 제안 시스템의 성능을 검증하였다.

The purpose of this research is to clarify the effect on personality of the child which may be infuenced by occupation and rearing attitude of the mother. Conclusion I. Mother with occupation does not give good effect on personality of the child, that is general Activity, Stability and Sociality. Conclusion II. Child attitude of mother effects greatly on personality of the child ; i.e. (a) good relationship between husband and wife makes good effects on the personality of the child ; and (b) rejecting attitude renders effects on the Stability of the child ; and (c) dominating attitude gives effects on Reflectiveness and Sociability of the child ; i.e. (d) overprotective attitude gives effect on Stability and Dominance of the child. Conclusion III. Whereas attitude of mother with occupation is dominaning, attitude of the mother without occupation is rejective. This difference in attitude gives effect on Reflectiveness, Dominance, Impulsiveness and Sociability of the child. Conclusion IV. Economic status of the famuly renders great effects on personality of the child, and this status effects Reflectiveness, Impulsiveness and Sociability.

There are two hypotheses with reference to voicing in Korean intervocalic lax stops /p, t, k/ and affricate /c/: (1) the phonologically voiceless lax stops /p, t, k/ and affricate /c/ are realised as voiced allophones in the intervocalic position; (2) the shorter the lax consonant, the higher the percentage of voicing. But the literature reveals that there are views rejecting or doubting them. To clarify these, an experiment was carried out, using a Sun Sparcstation, twelve native speakers of Korean and speech materials embedded in a sentence frame. The results showed that the extent of voicing in lax stops and affricate was too inconsistent to support the full voicing hypothesis, and shorter duration (faster speech) did not necessarily cause a higher percentage of voicing.

This paper proposes a method for rejecting false matches in automobile rear view camera image sequences. Our method consists of two submethods which utilize the motion characteristics of an automobile. One is for a straight motion and the other is for a curve motion. First, we classify an image sequence into a straight motion or a curve motion and then apply an appropriate submethod. Our method works in cases where the percentage of true matches is as low as 30%.

In this paper, we propose an adaptive Beamforming Algorithm, called MC-LMS, for adaptive antenna applied to an MC-CDMA system. New method for updating the weight vector based on the MSE criterion is derived. Computer simulations show that MC-LMS algorithm is capable of rejecting co-channel interference that affects the MC-CDMA system. Thus, the BER performance of the MC-CDMA system is much higher than that of the MC-CDMA system without using adaptive antenna and that of the DS-CDMA system with adaptive antenna in multi-path Rayleigh fading channel.
