Limestone zone in korea have been distributed to diagonal line so that it is wide from the Gangwondo to the Jeonlanamdo. The limestone cavity and fractured zone were formed by chemical weathering. Limestone cavity and fractured zone was reinforced with cemented milk(w/c=60%)by high pressure jet grouting by tripple -pipe to establish bridge foundation on the ground condition like limestone cavity. To analyze property of limestone and solid of cement milk(w/c=65%), mixed solid of cement, core NX size in the limestone cavity and fractured zone and compressive strength. Seismic tomograpy exploration was pcrforn1cd to analyze deformation modulus of limestone. The analysis suggests that deformation modulus of limestone has effect on uniaxial compressive strength, seismic velocity, seismic elasticity modulus. Average static elasticity modulus of limestone is $5.08{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$, cement and coal mixed solid is $0.25{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$, $0.095{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$. Average seismic velocity of limestone is 5.240m/sec, cement and coal mixed solid is 2,211.3m/sec, 1,447.5m/sec. Average uniaxial compressive strength of limestone was $1,221.3kgf/cm^2$ and limestone specimen mixed with cement milk and solid of cement milk mixed with coal were $125.22kgf/cm^2$, $35kgf/cm^2$ each other. Average friction angle of limestone was $49.14^{\circ}$ and limestone specimen mixed with cement milk and solid of cement milk mixed with coal were $38.39^{\circ}, 25.83^{\circ}$ each other. Average cohesion of limestone was $137.7kgf/cm^2$ and limestone specimen mixed with cement milk and solid of cement milk mixed with coal were $23.5kgf/cm^2$, $15.5kgf/cm^2$ each other. Average deformation modulus of limestone was $2.84{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$ and limestone specimen mixed with cement milk and solid of cement milk mixed with coal were $0.4{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2, 0.12{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$ each other. It was analyzed that the elasticity and uniaxial compressive strength, seismic velocity of solid of cement milk mixed limestone pieces and coal had an highly interrelation regardless of existence of limestones pieces and coal but it had shown that limestones had an lower interrelation. In case of field seismic velocity and deformation of limestone, SIC solid of cement milk mixed with coal and limestone pieces had an highly interrelation.
Structural property of most hydrogels is soft, resulting in low mechanical performance that limits their usage in the biomedical applications. For overcoming the drawback, cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were adopted in this study. Effects of CNCs on characteristics and drug delivery performance of poly (vinyl alcohol) based hydrogels were explored. FT-IR results showed that the fabricated hydrogels had semi-IPN (semi-interpenetrating polymer network) by formation of acetal and aldehyde bridge. Water absorption and swelling ratio decreased with increasing CNCs content, and the hydrogels with CNCs showed better viscoelastic performance than the without CNCs. Also, CNCs mostly improved the ability of the hydrogel to absorb the drug and the sustainability of the drug release. These results demonstrated that incorporating CNCs into the hydrogel systems can be a good alternative to improve drug delivery performance and mechanical property of the hydrogels.
According to the revision of the Housing Act in 2013, it has been possible to carry out an apartment remodeling project involving two to three floor vertical extension. The remodeling project with vertical extension requires foundation reinforcement because structural safety due to additional load and enhanced seismic criteria must be met. In this case, structural analysis is performed to analyze the load distributed to existing PC pile and reinforced additional pile. The vertical stiffness ($K_v$) of the pile is required for structural analysis, but the research on the 20~30 year old PC pile stiffness is very limited. In this paper, the stiffness of the PC pile in accordance with the change of diameter and length was analyzed by examining the results of 38 field pile load tests performed during the construction of the apartments in the 1990's. As a result of the analysis, the pile stiffness decreases with the increase of the length-diameter ratio (L/D). In addition, the results of on-site pile load test are compared with the coefficient 'a' for estimating pile stiffness proposed in Korea Highway Bridge Design Standard (2008) and the Pile Foundation Design Guideline of Korea Railroad Corporation (2012). It shows that 'a' obtained through the estimation of the literature is very similar to the field test results in the range of 10
Chloride ion inside concrete destroys the so-called passive film surrounding reinforcing bars inside concrete so that the so-called salt attack accelerates corrosion which is the most critical factor for durability as well as structural safety of reinforced concrete structures. Recently, as a solution of the salt attack, the ground granulated blast-furnace slag(GGBFS) have been used as binder or blended cement more extensively. In this paper, characteristics of chloride ion diffusion for the GGBFS concrete, which is known to possess better resistance to damage due to the chloride ion penetration than ordinary portland cement(OPC) concrete possesses, are analyzed and a chloride ion diffusion model for the GGBFS concrete is proposed by modifying an existing diffusion model for the OPC concrete. The proposed model is verified by comparing diffusion analysis results using the model accelerated chloride penetration test results for concrete specimens as well as field test results for an RC bridge pier. Then, an optimal resistance condition to chloride penetration for the GGBFS concrete is obtained according to degrees of fineness and replacement ratios of the GGBFS concrete. The result shows that the GGBFS concrete has better resistance to chloride ion penetration than OPC concrete has and the resistance is more affected by the replacement ratio than the degree of fineness of the GGBFS.
Clinker layer is a stratum structure distributed in volcanic area such as Jeju Island. The clinker layers were formed in between the repetitive action of eruption and solidification of lava flows. Since the clinker layer contains a large amount of voids accompanied by the lava gas ejection process, there is a possibility of inducing overall stability of the ground due to the low stiffness and strength of the clinker layer. Therefore, in this study, site investigation was carried out at both ends of the 00 bridge where the clinker layers exist. And, based on the ground survey results, the behavior of shallow foundations was analyzed numerically. In addition, the improved shallow foundation behavior in grouting substitution using the chemical injection method of the clinker layer was compared with the shallow foundation behavior in the ground, and the grouting substitution efficiency of each layer was analyzed. As a result, the bearing capacity, the replacement efficiency and elastic settlement were different according to the presence or absence of the sediment layer. This is because the sediment layer has a lower stiffness and density than the clinker layer.

An experimental study to evaluate bursting behavior in anchorage zone of the standard PSC I girders (span length : 30 m) has been carried out. The arrangement of bursting reinforcement in anchorage zone of the standard PSC I girders is considered to be designed without accurately reflecting the stress flows in the end zone of the PSC I girders caused by presstressing forces of the tendons. Also, due to excessive arrangement of the bursting bars, the workability of the girder is decreased greatly. In this study, three specimens with the same dimensions as the end zone of the standard PSC I girder are prepared and the experiment is carried out by applying PS forces. The bursting reinforcement of each specimen consists of 100 mm, 200 mm, and 300mm spacings, respectively. The experimental results show that the range of the PS forces to cause crack in the anchorage zone of the specimen are more than 1.6 times of the design PS forces. The bursting cracks occur in the vertical direction on the inside of all specimens. After applying 2.7 times of the design PS force, some of the transverse bursting reinforcements only in the specimen reinforced by 300 mm spacing yielded. The experimental results show that the anchorage zone of the standard PSC I girders arranged by 300 mm spacing of the bursting reinforcements which is the maximum spacing allowed in the road bridge design specifications, can be considered safe enough.
Physical security has always been an extremely important facet within the security arena. A comprehensive security plan consists of three components of physical security, personal security and information security. These elements are interrelated and may exist in varying degrees defending on the type of enterprise or facility being protected. The physical security component of a comprehensive security program is usually composed of policies and procedures, personal, barriers, equipment and records. Human beings kept restless struggle to preserve their and tribal lives. However, humans in prehistoric ages did not learn how to build strong house and how to fortify their residence, so they relied on their protection to the nature and use caves as protection and refuge in cold days. Through the history of man, human has been establishing various protection methods to protect himself and his tribe's life and assets. Physical security methods are set in the base of these security methods. Those caves that primitive men resided was rounded with rock wall except entrance, so safety was guaranteed especially by protection for tribes in all directions. The Great Wall of China that is considered as the longest building in the history was built over one hundred years from about B.C. 400 to prevent the invasion of northern tribes, but this wall enhanced its protection function to small invasions only, and Mongolian army captured the most part of China across this wall by about 1200 A.D. European lords in the Middle Ages built a moat by digging around of castle or reinforced around of the castle by making bascule bridge, and provided these protections to the resident and received agricultural products cultivated. Edwin Holmes of USA in 20 centuries started to provide innovative electric alarm service to the development of the security industry in USA. This is the first of today's electrical security system, and with developments, the security system that combined various electrical security system to the relevant facilities takes charging most parts of today's security market. Like above, humankind established various protection methods to keep life in the beginning and its development continues. Today, modern people installed CCTV to the most facilities all over the country to cope with various social pathological phenomenon and to protect life and assets, so daily life of people are protected and observed. Most of these physical security systems are installed to guarantee our safety but we pay all expenses for these also. Therefore, establishing effective physical security system is very important and urgent problem. On this study, it is suggested methods of establishing effective physical security system by using system integration on the principle of security design about effective security system's effective establishing method of physical security system that is increasing rapidly by needs of modern society.
High energy photon beams from medical linear accelerators produce large scattered radiation by various components of the treatment head, collimator and walls or objects in the treatment room including the patient. These scattered radiation do not provide therapeutic dose and are considered a hazard from the radiation safety perspective. Scattered dose of therapeutic high energy radiation beams are contributed significant unwanted dose to the patient. ICRP take the position that a dose of 500mGy may cause abortion at any stage of pregnancy and that radiation detriment to the fetus includes risk of mental retardation with a possible threshold in the dose response relationship around 100 mGy for the gestational period. The ICRP principle of as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) was recommended for protection of occupation upon the linear no-threshold dose response hypothesis for cancer induction. We suggest this ALARA principle be applied to the fetus and testicle in therapeutic treatment. Radiation dose outside a photon treatment filed is mostly due to scattered photons. This scattered dose is a function of the distance from the beam edge, treatment geometry, primary photon energy, and depth in the patient. The need for effective shielding of the fetus and testicle is reinforced when young patients ate treated with external beam radiation therapy and then shielding designed to reduce the scattered photon dose to normal organs have to considered. Irradiation was performed in phantom using high energy photon beams produced by a Varian 2100C/D medical linear accelerator (Varian Oncology Systems, Palo Alto, CA) located at the Yonsei Cancer Center. The composite phantom used was comprised of a commercially available anthropomorphic Rando phantom (Phantom Laboratory Inc., Salem, YN) and a rectangular solid polystyrene phantom of dimensions $30cm{\times}30cm{\times}20cm$. the anthropomorphic Rando phantom represents an average man made from tissue equivalent materials that is transected into transverse 36 slices of 2.5cm thickness. Photon dose was measured using a Capintec PR-06C ionization chamber with Capintec 192 electrometer (Capintec Inc., Ramsey, NJ), TLD( VICTOREEN 5000. LiF) and film dosimetry V-Omat, Kodak). In case of fetus, the dosimeter was placed at a depth of loom in this phantom at 100cm source to axis distance and located centrally 15cm from the inferior edge of the $30cm{\times}30cm^2$ x-ray beam irradiating the Rando phantom chest wall. A acryl bridge of size $40cm{\times}40cm^2$ and a clear space of about 20 cm was fabricated and placed on top of the rectangular polystyrene phantom representing the abdomen of the patient. The leaf pot for testicle shielding was made as various shape, sizes, thickness and supporting stand. The scattered photon with and without shielding were measured at the representative position of the fetus and testicle. Measurement of radiation scattered dose outside fields and critical organs, like fetus position and testicle region, from chest or pelvic irradiation by large fie]d of high energy radiation beam was performed using an ionization chamber and film dosimetry. The scattered doses outside field were measured 5 - 10% of maximum doses in fields and exponentially decrease from field margins. The scattered photon dose received the fetus and testicle from thorax field irradiation was measured about 1 mGy/Gy of photon treatment dose. Shielding construction to reduce this scattered dose was investigated using lead sheet and blocks. Lead pot shield for testicle reduced the scatter dose under 10 mGy when photon beam of 60 Gy was irradiated in abdomen region. The scattered photon dose is reduced when the lead shield was used while the no significant reduction of scattered photon dose was observed and 2-3 mm lead sheets refuted the skin dose under 80% and almost electron contamination. The results indicate that it was possible to improve shielding to reduce scattered photon for fetus and testicle when a young patients were treated with a high energy photon beam.
