Declutching control is applied to a hemispherical wave energy converter with direct linear electric Power-Take-Off systems oscillating in heave direction in both regular and irregular waves. The direct linear Power-Take-Off system can be simplified as a mechanical spring and damper system. Time domain model is applied to dynamics of the hemispherical wave energy converter in both regular and irregular waves. And state space model is used to replace the convolution term in time domain equation of the heave oscillation of the converter due to its inconvenience in analyzing the controlled motion of the converters. The declutching control strategy is conducted by optimal command theory based on Pontryagin's maximum principle to gain the controlled optimum sequence of Power-Take-Off forces. The results show that the wave energy converter with declutching control captures more energy than that without control and the former's amplitude and velocity is relatively larger. However, the amplification ratio of the absorbed power by declutching control is only slightly larger than 1. This may indicate that declutching control method may be inapplicable for oscillating wave energy converters with direct linear Power-Take-Off systems in real random sea state, considering the error of prediction of the wave excitation force.
The current paper introduces a new approach for development of damage index to obtain the maximum damage in the reinforced concrete frames caused by as-recorded single and consecutive earthquakes. To do so, two sets of strong ground motions are selected based on maximum and approximately maximum peak ground acceleration (PGA) from "PEER" and "USGS" centers. Consecutive earthquakes in the first and second groups, not only occurred in similar directions and same stations, but also their real time gaps between successive shocks are less than 10 minutes and 10 days, respectively. In the following, a suite of six concrete moment resisting frames, including 3, 5, 7, 10, 12 and 15 stories, are designed in OpenSees software and analyzed for more than 850 times under two groups of as-recorded strong ground motion records with/without seismic sequences phenomena. The idealized multilayer artificial neural networks, with the least value of Mean Square Error (MSE) and maximum value of regression (R) between outputs and targets were then employed to generate the empirical charts and several correction equations for design utilization. To investigate the effectiveness of the proposed damage index, calibration of the new approach to existing real data (the result of Park-Ang damage index 1985), were conducted. The obtained results show good precision of the developed ANNs-based model in predicting the maximum damage of regular reinforced concrete frames.

The world of linearity, which is regular, predictable and irrelevant to time sequence in most natural phenomenon, is a very small part. In fact, signals generated from natural phenomenon with which we're in contact are showed only slight linearity. Therefore it is very difficult to understand and analyze natural phenomenon with only predictable and regular linear systems. Due to these reasons researches concerning non-linear signals that of analysis were excluded being regarded as noise are being actively carried out. Countless signals generated from nonlinear system have the information about itself, and analyzing those signals and get information from it, that will be able to be used effectively in so may fields. Hence, in this paper we used a higher order spectrum, especially the bispectrum. After we prove the validity applying bispectrum to logistic map, which is typical chaotic signal. Subsequently by showing the result applying for actual signal analysis of EEG according to auditory stimuli, we show that higher order spectra is a very useful parameter in analysis of non-linear signals and the result of EEG analysis according to auditory stimuli.
Let (R, m) be a 2-dimensional regular local ring with algebraically closed residue field R/m. Let K be the quotient field of R and $\upsilon$ be a prime divisor of R, i.e., a valuation of K which is birationally dominating R and residually transcendental over R. Zariski showed that there are finitely many simple $\upsilon$-ideals $m\;=\;P_0\;{\supset}\;P_1\;{\supset}\;{\cdots}\;{\supset}\;P_t\;=\;P$ and all the other $\upsilon$-ideals are uniquely factored into a product of those simple ones [17]. Lipman further showed that the predecessor of the smallest simple $\upsilon$-ideal P is either simple or the product of two simple $\upsilon$-ideals. The simple integrally closed ideal P is said to be free for the former and satellite for the later. In this paper we describe the sequence of simple $\upsilon$-ideals when P is satellite of order 3 in terms of the invariant $b_{\upsilon}\;=\;|\upsilon(x)\;-\;\upsilon(y)|$, where $\upsilon$ is the prime divisor associated to P and m = (x, y). Denote $b_{\upsilon}$ by b and let b = 3k + 1 for k = 0, 1, 2. Let $n_i$ be the number of nonmaximal simple $\upsilon$-ideals of order i for i = 1, 2, 3. We show that the numbers $n_{\upsilon}$ = ($n_1$, $n_2$, $n_3$) = (${\lceil}\frac{b+1}{3}{\rceil}$, 1, 1) and that the rank of P is ${\lceil}\frac{b+7}{3}{\rceil}$ = k + 3. We then describe all the $\upsilon$-ideals from m to P as products of those simple $\upsilon$-ideals. In particular, we find the conductor ideal and the $\upsilon$-predecessor of the given ideal P in cases of b = 1, 2 and for b = 3k + 1, 3k + 2, 3k for $k\;{\geq}\;1$. We also find the value semigroup $\upsilon(R)$ of a satellite simple valuation ideal P of order 3 in terms of $b_{\upsilon}$.
Background: A physically active lifestyle and regular exercise training incurs many health benefits. One recently recognized benefit of regular moderate exercise is stress reduction and immune enhancement. Thus, a physical stress such as exercise may act at any number of points in the complex sequence of events collectively termed the immune response. Although exercise causes many propound changes in parameters of immune function, the nature and magnitude of such changes rely on several factors including the immune parameters of interest; type, intensity, and duration of exercise; fitness level or exercise history of the subject; environmental factors such as ambient temperature and humidity. Methods: This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of different type of exercise on superoxide dismutase (SOD), neutrophils, and T lymphocytes of Sprague-Dawley rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups; a non-Trained group (NTG, n=6), a swim-Trained group (STG), and a treadmill-Trained group (TTG). The exercise regimen was designed in a treadmill (5 times/5 days/week) during 8-weeks for TTG, and swim training (5 times/5 days/week) during 8-weeks for STG, and the volume of exercise training was the same in both groups. Results: 8 weeks of regular swim and treadmill training significantly increased liver SOD concentration however, muscle SOD concentration was not statistically significant. In the level of neutrophils, TTG and STG showed significant difference, compared to NTG. TTG was the highest level of neutrophils. In the level of immune cell counts, there was significant difference among TTG, STG, and NTG both in the spleen and thymus. Conculsion: In conclusion, it can be stated that eight weeks swim and treadmill exercise training has beneficial effect in improving immune response and antioxidant defence capacity by augmenting immune cells and SOD activities of SD rats.
The immune response to any stimulus is complex, requiring coordinated action by several types of cells in a tightly regulated sequence. Although regular moderate exercise appears to be important factor for increasing immunity, Athletes are susceptible to illness, in particular upper respiratory track infection, during periods of intense training and after competition. In addition, in elite athletes, frequent illness is associated with overtraining syndrome, a neuroendocrine disorder resulting from excessive training. Through this paper, we want to investigate the effects of exercise on the immunosuppression such as exercise induced lymphopenia, asthma, anaphylaxis, URT (upper respiratory track), and TB (tuberculosis) infection. and also, we want to suggest a direct mechanism, protection and therapy of exercise induced immunosuppression.
Let E be a reflexive Banach space with a weakly sequentially continuous duality mapping, C be a nonempty closed convex subset of E, f : C $\rightarrow$C a contractive mapping (or a weakly contractive mapping), and T : C $\rightarrow$ C a nonexpansive mapping with the fixed point set F(T) ${\neq}{\emptyset}$. Let {$x_n$} be generated by a new composite iterative scheme: $y_n={\lambda}_nf(x_n)+(1-{\lambda}_n)Tx_n$, $x_{n+1}=(1-{\beta}_n)y_n+{\beta}_nTy_n$, ($n{\geq}0$). It is proved that {$x_n$} converges strongly to a point in F(T), which is a solution of certain variational inequality provided the sequence {$\lambda_n$} $\subset$ (0, 1) satisfies $lim_{n{\rightarrow}{\infty}}{\lambda}_n$ = 0 and $\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}{\lambda}_n={\infty}$, {$\beta_n$} $\subset$ [0, a) for some 0 < a < 1 and the sequence {$x_n$} is asymptotically regular.
Microarray is a new technique for gene expression experiment, which has gained biologist's attention for recent years. This technology enables us to obtain hundreds and thousands of expression of gene or genotype at once using microarray Since it requires manual work to analyze patterns of gene expression, we want to develop an effective and automated tools to analyze microarray image. However it is difficult to analyze DNA chip images automatically due to several problems such as the variation of spot position, the irregularity of spot shape and size, and sample contamination. Especially, one of the most difficult problems in microarray analysis is the block and spot addressing, which is performed by manual or semi automated work in all the commercial tools. In this paper we propose a new algorithm to address the position of spot and block using a new concept of regular structure grid searching. In our algorithm, first we construct maximal I-regular sequences from the set of input points. Secondly we calculate the rotational angle and unit distance. Finally, we construct I-regularity graph by allowing pseudo points and then we compute the spot/block address using this graph. Experiment results showed that our algorithm is highly robust and reliable. Supplement information is available on http://jade.cs.pusan.ac.kr/~autogrid.
Damage caused by an earthquake depends on not just the intensity of an earthquake but also the region-specific construction practices. Past earthquakes in Asian countries have highlighted inadequate construction practices, which caused huge life and property losses, indicating the severe need to strengthen existing structures. Strengthening activities shall be proposed as per the proposed weighting factors, first at the higher weighted members to increase the capacity of the building immediately and thereafter, the other members. Through this study on gravity load-designed (GLD) buildings, relative weights are assigned to each storey and exterior and interior columns within a storey based on their contribution to the energy dissipation capacity of the building. The numerical study is conducted on mid-rise archetype GLD buildings, i.e., 4, 6, 8, and 10 stories with variable storey heights, in the high seismic zones. Non-linear static analysis is performed to compute weights based on energy dissipation capacities. The results obtained are verified with the non-linear time history analysis of 4 GLD buildings. It was observed that exterior columns have higher weightage in the energy dissipation capacity of the building than interior columns up to a certain building height. The damage in stories is distributed in a convex to concave parabolic shape from bottom to top as building height increases, and the maxima location of the parabola shifts from bottom to middle stories. Relative weighting factors are assigned as per the damage contribution. And the sequence for strengthening activities is proposed as per the computed weighting factors in descending order for regular RCC buildings. Therefore, proposals made in the study would increase the efficacy of strengthening activities.

In this study, in order to facilitate analysis in a continuous sequence, including the concept of the landscape experience time, countless frames of a continuous landscape were extracted. The amount of visual elements in each frame was data-converted numerically to take advantage of the quantitative data necessary for landscape planning and design was calculated in the rhythm of the sequence. In Order to shoot video with the flow of the line of sight of experience in landscape districts and landscape control points along the landscape corridor which is a continuous path, each of the corresponding computer motion techniques. This study developed a CRVP Koo computer program to effectively calculate the continuous visual number of specific landscape components by extracting uncounted frames at regular intervals, and after verifying, attempting to apply this to the target site. Through the applied result, it was possible to extract the digitized quantitative rhythm for each component of each landscape, the margin of error is very small when compared with the results of manual in photoshop, it was able to overcome the drawbacks of the manual. Using the rhythm of the derived sequence, and those close to the experience of the landscape, it was possible to achieve quantitative analysis derived from a variety of perspectives as well as was possible to be used as quantitative basis data and analysis technique for landscape planning and design.
