Path Analysis of Attitude Toward Health Checkup and Breast Cancer on the Application of Physical Therapy after Breast Cancer Surgery

  • PURPOSE: This study examined women's attitudes toward the use of physical therapy in the treatment process after breast cancer surgery and the degree of interest in this application. Path analysis was conducted to discover the approaches to improve awareness of the necessity of physical therapy intervention after breast cancer surgery. METHODS: This study was a cross-sectional survey of 230 women aged 20 years and over with no history of breast cancer. The measurement tool used in this study was a structured questionnaire, composed of 17 items in five fields: five items on the demographic characteristics, four items related to health checkups, four items involving the viewpoints on breast cancer, one item related to the interest in breast cancer, and four items related to physical therapy after surgery. RESULTS: Women's attitudes toward regular health checkups were major factors in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. In addition, those with higher levels of interest in breast cancer showed stronger interest in using physical therapy after breast cancer surgery. CONCLUSION: Women believe that breast cancer can be prevented through the health checkups implemented by the government. Therefore, there is a need to utilize public relations to promote methods for the self-diagnosis of breast cancer in the health checkup system and the use of physical therapy after breast cancer surgery.

고속 다중 경로 네트워크에서 동적 대역폭 인식 혼잡제어(DBAC)를 통한 전송 효율 최적화 (Optimizing Transmission Efficiency with Dynamic Bandwidth Aware Congestion Control (DBAC) in High-Speed Multipath Networks)

  • 본 논문은 다중 경로를 사용해야 하는 현대 네트워크 환경에서 데이터 전송 효율을 향상시키기 위한 새로운 혼잡 제어 알고리즘인 동적 대역폭 인식 혼잡 제어(DBAC)를 제안한다. 전통적인 단일 경로 TCP는 한계가 있어 다중 경로 TCP(MPTCP)가 여러 경로를 동시에 활용하여 대역폭을 극대화하고 전송 신뢰성을 향상시키지만, MPTCP는 경로 특성의 비대칭성으로 인해 고속 장거리 네트워크에서 성능 저하를 겪는다. 이를 해결하기 위해 DBAC는 BDP가 큰 경로에는 TCP CUBIC을, 일반 경로에는 LIA를 결합하여 자원 활용과 공정성을 최적화한다. 실험 결과, DBAC는 자원활용과 전송 성능을 크게 향상시켜, 기존 LIA가 20% 미만의 대역폭을 사용하는 것에 비해 높은 BDP 경로에서 80% 이상의 대역폭을 효과적으로 사용하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the factors (depression, level of health status, physical function, depression) influence health related quality of life (EQ5D) in community dwelling elderly according to sex. Methods: A total of 226 elderly subjects over the age of 65 years in community were included. Data were collected by measuring the physical function (muscle endurance, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular endurance) and by using a questionnaire about EQ5D, depression, health status. Data were analyzed by SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Results: The major findings of this study are as follows. Explained variance of EQ5D by regular exercise, physical function, and level of health status was 19% for male elderly subjects and 26.0% for female elderly subjects. The effect was different according to sex. Depression has the effect on EQ5D (${\beta}=-.356$, p<.001) in females, while the level of health status has the effect (${\beta}=.314$, p=.027) in males. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the effect of regular exercise, physical function, and level of health status were different on EQ5D according to sex. Thus, different health programs according to sex are necessary to increase the quality of life in elderly individuals.

Research on Relay Selection Technology Based on Regular Hexagon Region Segmentation in C-V2X

  • Traffic safety and congestion are becoming more and more serious, especially the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents, which have caused great casualties and economic losses. Cellular Vehicle to Everything (C-V2X) can assist in safe driving and improve traffic efficiency through real-time information sharing and communication between vehicles. All vehicles communicate directly with Base Stations (BS), which will increase the base station load. And when the communicating vehicles are too far apart, too fast or there are obstacles in the communication path, the communication link can be unstable or even interrupted. Therefore, choosing an effective and reliable multi-hop relay-assisted Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) communication can not only reduce the base station load and improve the system throughput but also expand the base station coverage and improve the communication quality of edge vehicles. Therefore, a communication area division scheme based on regular hexagon segmentation technology is proposed, a relay-assisted V2V communication mechanism is designed for the divided communication areas, and an efficient communication link is constructed by selecting the best relay node. Simulation results show that the scheme can improve the throughput of the system by nearly 55% and enhance the robustness of the V2V communication link.

일부 섬유제품제조업의 밀기-당기기 작업 평가 (Assessment of push-pull forces of yarn-carrying carts at some fiber-twisting factories)

  • Objectives: To assess the risk of pushing or pulling the yarn-carrying cart, the survey was performed in some fiber manufacturing factories. Methods: We selected 6 fiber-twisting factories which agreed to in-site survey of their workplace. To measure both initial and sustained forces of the push-pull tasks, Chatillon CSD500 dynamometer(2004, Ametek, USA) was used. The mean of 3 tests for the same cart was adopted as the measured forces. Height and width of cart, weight of spooled yarns, and distance of movement were also measured. Inspection of cart wheel, moving path, and the actual hand position while moving was done. Results: More than one pushing or pulling task exceeded the push-pull force limits of design goal in 5 factories. Though the cart was not loaded the heaviest weight in the factory, the measured push or pull force exceeded the limits several times. A few cart wheels were worn out and tangled with pieces of yarn. It was also observed some holes in the moving path. Conclusions: While the push-pull task is not included in the 11 scopes of over-burdened work notified by Korean government, it should be recognized as risk factor of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The maintenance work such as regular change and frequent cleaning of cart wheel, the use of fitting wheel, and flattening of bumpy floor through the moving path should be advised importantly in the worksite management of work-related musculoskeletal disorders.

함정 재해의 신속 진압을 위한 경로 탐색에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Path Search for the Rapid Suppression of Naval Ships Casualties)

  • Naval ships could be seriously damaged by enemy attacks in battle. Moreover, this damage could be spread and deteriorated into a secondary accident. Secondary accidents that have adverse effects on naval ship's survivability, such as fire, flood, smoke extension, and patient occurrence, are defined as casualties. These casualties sharply degrade the survivability of naval ships. Furthermore, naval ships could be burned-out and sunk by casualties in isolated sea. Therefore, damage control and rapid suppression of the casualties in the naval ships is essential. This study was conducted in the establishment of suppression paths according to the characteristics of each casualty so that the developed system can support the rapid suppression in an emergency and even the training situation on a regular state. To establish the suppression paths, the two-dimensional numerical map is designed by converting the three-dimensional features of the naval ships, and the well known algorithms are compared to present the appropriate one for path finding problem on the naval ships. Finally, we devised a specific routing algorithm that fits the characteristics of each casualty in accordance with the Korean Navy's doctrines and handbooks of casualty suppression.

강화학습 기반 3D 객체복원 데이터 획득 시뮬레이션 설계 (Designing a Reinforcement Learning-Based 3D Object Reconstruction Data Acquisition Simulation)

  • 물체나 공간을 디지털화하는 기술인 3D 복원은 주로 포인트 클라우드 데이터를 활용한다. 본 논문은 강화학습을 활용하여 주어진 환경에서 포인트 클라우드의 획득을 목표로 한다. 이를 위해 시뮬레이션 환경은 유니티를 이용하여 구성하고, 강화학습은 유니티 패키지인 ML-Agents를 활용한다. 포인트 클라우드 획득 과정은 먼저 목표를 설정하고, 목표 주변을 순회할 수 있는 경로를 계산한다. 순회 경로는 일정 비율로 분할하여 각 스텝마다 보상한다. 이때 에이전트의 경로 이탈을 방지하기 위해 보상을 증가시킨다. 에이전트가 순회하는 동안 목표를 응시할 때마다 보상을 부여하여 각 순회 스텝에서 포인트 클라우드의 획득 시점을 학습하도록 한다. 실험결과, 순회 경로가 가변적이지만 상대적으로 정확한 포인트 클라우드를 획득할 수 있었다.

어디에 표지판을 세울 것인가? 길 안내 과제를 통한 개인의 공간인식 및 문제해결에 대한 연구 (Path Selection Strategies and Individual Differences in a Navigation Task)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 '길 안내' 와 같은 문제해결 과정을 통해 나타나는 학생들의 공간적 문제해결 전략 및 개인차를 밝히는 것이다. 방문객의 길 안내를 위해 학생들이 캠퍼스에 세운 간이 표지판의 위치를 분석하였다. 학생들은 표지판의 위치로 급격한 방향 전환이 필요한 갈림길이나 길 안내의 출발, 도착지점을 선호하였으며, 경로를 선정할 때 효율성, 환경적 특성, 방문객의 심미적 만족감 등 다양한 요인들을 고려하였다. 또한 대부분의 학생들이 방문객의 예상 이동 경로를 따라 일렬로 간이 표지판을 세운 반면, 몇몇 학생들은 복수의 경로를 설정하는 전략을 사용하였다. 한편 동일한 과제를 실내에서 수행하게 했을 때, 실내에서 수행된 과제의 표지판들이 실외의 경우보다 균등한 간격으로 분포하는 특징을 보였다.

레인지후드 덕트설치 조건에 따른 소음 및 풍량특성 연구 (A Study on the Performance of Noise Level and Airflow Amount of a Kitchen Hood by the Different Conditions of Airflow Path.)

  • Noise level and Airflow amount of a kitchen hood are affected by the conditions of airflow path. Thus this study is expected to be used as a basic reference in designing airflow path of apartment housing throughout analysing changes in noise level and airflow amount from the various conditions of airflow path. Noise level generated by the kitchen hood is estimated in a kitchen and a living room of two constructed apartment houses, and an experiment is conducted in an half anechoic chamber to analyze noise level and airflow amount by the different length, diameter and number of windings of a round shaped soft duct which is connected to the kitchen hood. The measured results in apartment houses show that the noise level in both apartments exceeds the NC standard greatly in living spaces. In apartment A, a regular apartment house, the noise level was $NC-65{\sim}75$, $NC-45{\sim}60$ and NC-70, NC-45 in the kitchen and living room with an operation of kitchen hood in 1 and 3 stages. In apartment B, an apartment complex, the noise level was NC-55 and NC-60 in the kitchen and living room with an operation of kitchen hood in 3 stages. In particular, there was an increase of noise level at 125Hz-band resulted from an amplification of sound, which requires adequate measures in noise reduction. The results measured in Half anechoic chamber show 99% of airflow amount increase with the modification of a duct' s diameter from ${\Phi}$ 100mm to ${\Phi}$ 125mm, 37% of airflow amount increase with the modification of a duct' s diameter from ${\Phi}$ 125mm to ${\Phi}$ 150mm, and 173% of airflow amount increase with the modification of a duct' s diameter from ${\Phi}$ l00mm to ${\Phi}$ 150mm. The noise level was lower than the level measured in apartment housing about 20 in NC-value and 11.4 in dB(A)-value, which was interpreted as the effect of the load by the pressure condition at the rear end of the duct. Also, an amplification of sound in 125Hz-band influenced NC-value considerably, therefore effective measure is needed.

Modeling of RC Frame Buildings for Progressive Collapse Analysis

  • The progressive collapse analysis of reinforced concrete (RC) moment-frame buildings under extreme loads is discussed from the perspective of modeling issues. A threat-independent approach or the alternate path method forms the basis of the simulations wherein the extreme event is modeled via column removal scenarios. Using a prototype RC frame building, issues and considerations in constitutive modeling of materials, options in modeling the structural elements and specification of gravity loads are discussed with the goal of achieving consistent models that can be used in collapse scenarios involving successive loss of load-bearing columns at the lowest level of the building. The role of the floor slabs in mobilizing catenary action and influencing the progressive collapse response is also highlighted. Finally, an energy-based approach for identifying the proximity to collapse of regular multi-story buildings is proposed.
